What a great positive video!! So rewarding to see the CCC's learning, growing, and giving back - as they stated. It's great that the Forest Service is actively involved in the recovery program.
I hope GOV money was not spent clearing brush on private property. It the home owner's resposibility to do this in fire prone areas.
It's expensive and sometimes there are regulations that prevent this. But I object to my tax dollars being spent on people that choose to live outside of fire districts and expect the Fed Gov to protect thier houses from fire.
The Silverthorn Recreation Residence area is NOT private property. All the Recovery Act dollars spent on these project areas were devoted to creating a safer environment for the public on Forest Service lands.

Heard of a community wildland fire protection plan? Happens all over the country. State and government dollars contribute to protect communities.
