  • Eye of the Hawk Select Ale and Black Hawk Stout.

In the old days beers got mixed right at the tap...these two were called Black Eye.

Another fave from the old days was Purple Haze, Blue Heron Pale Ale mixed with Red Tail Ale.

The Beer is now blended together after each has been brewed separately, prior to bottling.

  • It's not just regional, they brew it at their NY plant for the East Coast. I know cuz there's a bottle sitting in my fridge waiting to review...

  • Do they physically mix both together or is the ingredients mixed in the brewing process? Any idea?

  • As far as I know its done wile bottling. If you order one at the brewpub they mix it there.

  • The only Black and Tan I've had is made by Yuengling. I'll have to give this one a try if I see it. Thanks!
