That looks really good. The top side driven system should give less false motion cues for acceleration, braking and turns. After building a bottom driven 3DoF platform, I'm also thinking of making a top driven version.
Nice response for the actuators. Did you build them yourself?
What kind of gear heads do you use? Is it worm drive? How much power per each engine? Nice toy!

Yes, it is our self construction. Actuators seems be good, it is cheap asynchronous AC motors with excelent CANopen driven converters (Schneider).
