I was a little apprehensive about going scuba diving for the first time because of sharks until I found out that sharks don't like bubbles and they won't attack unless provoked or if you're chumming food to other fish. Mostly they're just curious to see what you are but they will leave you alone unless you are threatening them in some way. I saw a reef shark when scuba diving in cancun (about 7-8 feet in length) and it ignored us divers. Was intense to see a shark in his turf just ignore us!
How odd! You odd little man, swimming around an empty wreck. I prefer things on dry land myself... less chance of getting eaten by a shark... ooo ar come err... west country diver!
Awe, Come on! I used to think like that too until I tried it! I'll bet that if you tried it, you'd see what I mean and probably become a dive junkie like myself. It REALLY is a different world down there and the things that you get to see and explore are very fascinating. My wife and I are hoping to go to the Red Sea and dive in the future but first she wants to go down to Belize because it's supposed to be fairly extreme diving down there as well.
