  • such an amazing film.. great story.. it just shows that with love, you can do things you never thought possible.. religion and race can never come between two persons who love each other.. indeed, love conquers all.. Kristin Kreuk did an amazing job as well as Jimi Mistry.. best movie I've ever watched.

  • Awww...Sad ending :(

  • what a heartwrenching ending .. after all they had been through i was convinced they would end up together again . DAMN !!!!!!

  • Wow, it was an amazing film I wish it would have had a happy ending. Who can have a love of a man like that. I wish I could. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Love has no boundry,no religeon,no race,no caste or creed.its a pure divine feeling.

  • This is the most beautiful film that i've ever watched, it's really a sad ending but it give me a strength!

  • EL TODO LO QUE HIZO POR ESTAR CON SU GRAN AMOR, PARA NADA, PORQUE A LA FINAL MURIO.. NO SE VALE, ME DA MUCHA TRISTEZA.. POR QUE NO QUEDARON JUNTOS PARA SIEMPRE..

  • such beauty and----- sadness

--thank you for this masterpiece (Doig...) Her last sentence in the movie is perfection

    It is---so true...

  • WTF? why is she kissing that old ugly indian guy?

  • i like this movie soo much,,,,,,the chracters played so beautifully...i thankyou for making such a niceeeeeeeee movie,,,,adn beautifully made

  • This is a film very similar to the Hindi film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Set during the partition of India, a young muslim girl, trying to flee to Pakistan, is saved by a Sikh man, eventually falling in love with him. They have a son, get separated, yadda yadda yadda. Very good film. Please check it out guys! It is a great film. The ending is different to this film, but it is a movie worth checking out.

Better than this movie I'd say. It is in Hindi. But it is a good film with a lot of heart.

  • Movies like this one astound me in the amount of trouble that hatred can cause!!!! Little thing that eats the container it is stored in, rather than the container it is poured upon, yet causes so much damage in the process!!

  • This was such a great movie. This movie, in my opinion, shows that it doesn't matter what a man's race or religion is, the actual person and how he/she is on the inside shows how evil or good someone really is. I'm a Christian, and even though these aren't my beliefs, I thought this showed how love overcomes the evil in the world. :)

  • Hate deceives the heart ......

    so sad :(

thank you for taking the time to post.

  • I love this movie! It's been awhile since I first saw it. But I cried again. Great acting by Kristin Kreuk. And that little boy is so cute!

  • Noooooooooooo! Why did he have to die? The mean brother should have been the one to die!

  • the brother cause his own death why was he insisting that his sister not marry the guy.

  • @Mandinko23 it wasn't the brother who died. It was the husband.

  • Thank you so much for this movie. It's a very beautiful one. I love India, I love Kristine Kreuk and Jimi Mistry. I like the story, even if (or because) the end was really sad ! Thks again !

  • a remarkable movie

  • Both Naseem and Margaret loved Gian. Beautiful film.

  • There is so much hatred so much jealousy so much killing and so many innocent lives are taken under one name ‘religion’

  • wtf??? he died????noooooooooo

  • What the?!! Where's my Hollywood ending!!? I'm extremely disappointed! Bloody brothers! Naseem never got to spend time to enjoy a short cutted Gian!! BTW thanks for the uploads.

  • Stunning film. Gosh, I hate movies that have me blubbering like a baby almost as much as I love them.... Gr.

  • Thank you so much for posting this movie. <3

  • Gush, this is wonderful and will recommend this movie to all my friends..A heart-moving story that I am sure happenned in real life..How I wish we just live to love each other rather than using religion or race to hate and hurt one another..Peace Be With Us All!!

  • so sad i wish he could have lived!!!!!!!!!

  • looooooooooooooooooooove this movie soooooooooooo muuuuuuch

  • common man, he became a muslim. what the hell was the problem then....by the way,, i am a muslim too...they should have left them on their own,, it was a muslim family now..

  • yes u bhenchod, he became a muslim.

  • Could you please refrain from making such comments? No, he didn't become a muslim, he only cut his hair in order to be able to go search for his wife. And even if he had become a muslim, what would be the problem with that? People are free to adopt any religion...You should keep that in mind!!!

  • Thank you! There are obviously hateful people in this world who can't see the good message in this movie.

  • "...what would be the problem with that?"

Well, let's see: If it weren't for Islam encouraging that women be systematically oppressed and left to the mercy of the males of the family none of this would have happened so if Gian had become Muslim it would just be another man adhering to the archaic cult of Islam.

Anyone who thinks that Islam is a harmless "religion" has never studied it's beliefs and has no understanding of the horrific actions committed in the name of Islam through history.

  • andi i suppose nothing horrific has been done in the name of christianity and other religions? Ever heard of the Crusades, for example?

  • @BShark97

There is world of difference between the Crusades, where Christians committed horrific acts that their theology does not support, being a pacifist belief system and the Islamic Crusades, an action cleary outlined and supported by the Qu'ran and Hadiths.

You cannot compare secular actions to theological orders.

  • @thegirl44 @thegirl44

female suppression was common in india even before the evident of islam.

hindu widows were forced to burn themselves with the ashes of their husbands..thankfully british govt. abolished tht wide-spread pratice.

i would insist tht the female oppression is mostly cultural rather than religious.

  • @afshch

Sati was never "forced" on Hindu women, hence, it was not used as a form of subjugation.

By that fact alone, your argument is a poor one.

  • @thegirl44 Well, after a Hindu woman became a widow, people considered (and still do) her as bad luck, they don't let her near new brides or brides-to-be (same treatment to divorced women today) no one would marry her as they would say she "killed" her husband, no one would let her in their home as even her shadow was considered evil. Basically she would become a social outcast, so no one really had to force sati, their lives had ended anyway. Muslims in India took the influence and it shows.

  • @Doigtsdepoussiere ... that's right! I agree with you..

  • lol idiot.

  • Lasog, you are hateful scum.

  • I heard the song "Deser Lands" by Trading Yesterday and it is almost perfect for Gian and Nessem. I loved this movie!!!!! and can't stop thinking about it, it was so sweet and sad.

  • Nooooooooooooooo Gian!

  • Very poetic. I love this film. It is a long time I seen movies that is so touching and yet the story still so modern. All around this world there is still people so courageous and choosing love and peace. Thank you for making this movie available.

  • yeah I don't know if its because I love the actress Kristin Kreuk so much but this was really a hard core good movie.

Its a sham they never showed it here in america

  • one race... human race

  • i think Margaret loved gian but realized that he would not see her as anything but his friend. Naseem was innocence and redemption for the part he played in the war.

on another note, too much smallville, I can now watch kristin kreuk in a different light. Much better acting. 0:07-1:0 got to me. loved the film

  • Patricia Finn& Vic Sarin wrote the script.Vic Sarin directed.Wikipedia has 2 "Partition" films. One 1987, &this 2007.Kristin Kreuk is of Dutch-Chinese parents.Jimi Mistri is of Iran-Irish parents.Perfect for the role of ethnic ambiguosy part theme of humanity.Neve Campbell has a Scotch father and Dutch mother."Walter",John Light married Neve Campbell during the filming.Thank you so much for uploading a special film

  • This movie always makes me cry

  • great movie i just cant stop crying :(

  • Can I ask a stupid question? Is this film based on a book? 'Cause I would read it.

  • Hi, Caerdrys...In fact your question isn't stupid, not at all! I would also love to read such a book...but I don't think this movie is based on a book...Still, I'm not sure...perhaps you'd find the answer to that?

    Have a nice weekend!

  • might b a book ...the movie is almost identical to an indian film called Gadar...different ending tho...

  • Interesting...! I'll try to find that indian movie you're talking about, 'cause I think I'd like it...Thanks for the information axyfb!

  • @Doigtsdepoussiere It's based on a film Shaheed-E-Mohabbat (literally means Martyred in Love) which in turn is based on a true story.Gaddar was another offshot of this film.

    imdb.com/title/tt0308875/

  • It's based on a true story that happened. The man did die, I don't know about the girl. This all started with a punjabi movie "Shaheed-E-Mohabbat". In the movie his name was Boota Singh. I think that might b his real name but I m not 100% sure. It's a really good punjabi movie. Waaaaayyy better than Gadar which was commercialized.

  • Just to add I just found out that Pakistan made a movie in 1959 called "Kartar Singh" which is also the same story. If anyone knows of the location of boota singh's memorial ( I heard there is1 ) please leave a post

  • ahh kewl, didnt knw that! :)

  • @nworb I did think the story was similar to that of Gaddar but with a couple of differences. Haven't seen "Shaheed-E Mohabbat" I think the guy who played Akbar was Raj Babbar's son?

  • Thank you, ever so much, for posting this beautifully film. I cried in the end. But I enjoyed it very much.

    Thank you

  • bulls**t!!! i hate bad endings zzzzz.........

  • This was such a beautiful story and then it ends so depressing! Not only does Gian die but Walter never even tells Margaret that he loves her. Gian has come WAY to far to die there. Why didn't Akbar go over the bridge!

  • I completly wish Gian had lived, however I dont think that would portray the purposeof the movie. Its about the Partition and all the harm it caused. It would have been nice to see some good amongst all the bad, but the director was not trying to show that because there was very little, (if any) good caused by the Partition

  • i know! her family ruined her life forever...at least she has their son but still she lost the love of her life because her brothers thought it would be better for her if she forgot about her husband and child. fuckin dumbass pricks!

  • great movie ... wonderful... makes me cry ... tnx for uploading it ...

  • this is a great movie...

  • this was a good movie

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful and poignant film!☺☆☆☆☆☆
