Nice fight..I just had a question. How did u get this boss battle? I mean I live in the USA and I've played final fantasy X like 100 times and i've never seen it, it's definitely not part of the game is it, or is their different versions of this game that have different bosses??

Anyway, at least the European version allows you to spend loads of time making your charas ready to fight these bad boys... You can kill the story bosses in 1 hit? HAH, you ain't ready to fight the real bosses yet.
Lol, I fought this battle without taking out the arms. All you need to do is have 90k+ hp on everyone without the use of a stamina tablet or tonic using auto-life on everyone and know how to make the, "Final Elixer". If you know how to do this then its obivous. You get raped by Judgement Day, everyone gets resed by auto-life then you mix up a final elixer and quickly recover with that and bam. Although you gotta be careful that you have auto-life on everyone. Final Elixers also uses Life.
@Bahamuitzero I don't really believe you. The left arm deletes auto-life, you need to know when there is judgement day. It is possible, but much more complicated. Auto-Life isn't enough to survive JD since Tera Graviton will wipe you out without a special preperation.
@TheParagonify t's really simple. There is a counter, when it reaches 19 he uses judgement day if it goes over it doesn't happen, simple right? When you attack or he uses immolation it goes up by one. As I said, if you know how to mix a Final Elixer (Clear Sphere+ Hi-Potion) you can recover fast, since it fully recovers all status's, KO and HP/MP all full. JD wasn't ment to be easy to recover from. As i recall i don't remember any arms being able to break Auto-Life.
@Bahamuitzero Yeah, but after JD you don't get a turn before the left arm which could cast Tera-Graviton. You need to increase the sum Auto-Life heals to more than 37.5%. It's possible, but very difficult. I would also like to know your armor settings, they are the most important in the fight.
@TheParagonify I used almost the same thing, except I used Ribbon because the arm's shatter you if you're at critical HP and the arm kills you. It's a pretty difficult battle without killing the arms, nearly impossible if you ask me. I just wish I recorded it. The arm's only break Auto-Life if they kill you with a normal attack when you have stoneproof or Ribbon on. Tera-Graviton was a bitch, I'm not sure if there was a counter for it. I'd have to look into it more. It's possible, though.
I never manneged to kill Penance even with maz hit points cheat on my cheat-disk, To be honest I dont even know how to find Penance to fight because I used my cheat-disk and went into debug mode and found it in their, I thought you could only fight Penance using the cheat-disks debug mode cheat, I thought Penance was taken out from the completed version of the game. XD

I don't call linear pathing games that doesn't let you customize your characters for shit or explore the game or have any real options in character development RPGs. It was a long winded cutscene. I don't even know why they bothered letting you walk around in the first place. They should have teleported you from boss to boss.
@strikerk Clearly you didn't get that far into XIII. I'm not saying it was perfect, but there was a shit ton of exploration, and you could develop your characters however you liked. Once you get to Gran Pulse, the game opens up.. You remind me of the moronic reviews that FF XIII received because the reviewers were too fucking lazy to get past the first disc. While XIII isn't the best Final Fantasy game, don't insult it by saying its not a real RPG.

@amcgbc I simply do not feel that the series is at its best following FFX. The system was gone, the characters~ lack luster, the exploration~ even more so. The MMOs do not count to me, and FFXIII, regardless of WHAT you say~ is not a game with a ton of exploration. It did not even have a full world to explore. It did not have towns full of people, with their own stories to tell and layers of culture and color. It did not have a past, or a soul. It was an empty ride for me and many others. Sorry.

At least SE hasn't just outright given up, but the golden years of Japanese RPGs has long set over the horizon, and remakes may spark inspiration for some time, but so does every new Mario and new Sonic and new repeat of a classic which SE is no stranger to on the handhelds. While in the meanwhile they bank on old sequels and nostalgia.

The fact you cite it as a "Great" Final Fantasy tells me really didn't experience the others... and it shocks me you even bring 14 up at all.

Not all games need a full backstory to be good. The story given is enough, and especially branched into 13-2. I've played through all final fantasy games and spinoffs, and I agree that MOST great final fantasy games ended at 10, although alot of the spinoffs were horrible. But then again, you have to give credit to the others.

Getting 255 stats is easy as hell. Most boring part is to get all monsters to monster arena after that it's fast. I have now approx 90 hour save where i have all stats 255 except magic. Also few celestial weapon.
I always hear people complaining about not having the PAL version. No offense, but its 2011. I'm" sure you can find a copy somewhere on the internet. Hell, an old associate of mine downloaded the PAL version ROM (no idea where he got it from though).
@wisefelipe You're right, but Sakaguchi left after FFX, so the story of X-2 was created by Nomura, so we can say it's SE. SS and FF in general don't exist anymore without Sakaguchi and Uematsu...
Well, I did think Omega Weapon in FFVIII was the hardest FF boss. But since it's been so long since I fought it and I never fought against Penance I guess I can't be so sure.
Omega was indeed quite ridiculous in this game though... and then even more ridiculous in X-2.
Cid is the only "recurring character", and it's been like that since forever. Bahamut, Shiva, Ifrit etc, are always summons. I was talking about bosses.
And while Ultima and Omega have appeared in more than 1 game, they had different roles each time, basically becoming "weaker" with each game.
The big bad optional boss had always been a different one with each different game, I'd be surprised if they had Omega be i again.

@Steven1992ization lol, no~ FF12, maybe. At least that had the audacity of being a real RPG. I don't call linear pathing games that doesn't let you customize your characters for shit or explore the game or have any real options in character development RPGs. It was a long winded cutscene. I don't even know why they bothered letting you walk around in the first place. They should have teleported you from boss to boss.

@strikerk Clearly you didn't get that far into XIII. I'm not saying it was perfect, but there was a shit ton of exploration, and you could develop your characters however you liked. Once you get to Gran Pulse, the game opens up.. You remind me of the moronic reviews that FF XIII received because the reviewers were too fucking lazy to get past the first disc. While XIII isn't the best Final Fantasy game, don't insult it by saying its not a real RPG.

@amcgbc It's fine that you have an opinion, but I'm not exactly some loon that has the opinion I do. I'm not like, the only one who sees this RPG for what it is. I'm assuming you're a young player~ probably less than 21 who didn't really grow up with the NES and SNES RPGs that actually offered a level of freedom you're unaccustomed to. I don't think we're going to be talking the same language if you felt FFXIII had "a shit ton of exploration". We're from different worlds, sorry. I disagree.

@amcgbc I simply do not feel that the series is at its best following FFX. The system was gone, the characters~ lack luster, the exploration~ even more so. The MMOs do not count to me, and FFXIII, regardless of WHAT you say~ is not a game with a ton of exploration. It did not even have a full world to explore. It did not have towns full of people, with their own stories to tell and layers of culture and color. It did not have a past, or a soul. It was an empty ride for me and many others. Sorry.

@HeroChao132 Can we really call Dissidia a Final Fantasy game? It has more in common with Kingdom Hearts than any traditional RPG. S-E hasn't made a quality, traditional RPG in a long, long time~ since FFX really if you honestly think about it. It's been nearly a decade.

@HeroChao132 I'm happy, and I'm sad~ because it's just the state of Japanese gaming at the moment. It's really depressing really, and S-E knows it. At least SE hasn't just outright given up, but the golden years of Japanese RPGs has long set over the horizon, and remakes may spark inspiration for some time, but so does every new Mario and new Sonic and new repeat of a classic which SE is no stranger to on the handhelds. While in the meanwhile they bank on old sequels and nostalgia.

I'm not talking about a remake, I'm talking about a quality of JRPG that is born from a product of love, and sound, and color to stay in our hearts to be talked about for decades to come... the last game to come even close to me, was Lost Odyssey, and it's no surprise considering who made it...

@dustinlewis1 Unfortunately, I completely disagree with all points. 11 was a decent MMO for its time, perhaps I'll let it slide. 13 was a Linear Point A-B experience with characters with no past, with no real motivation or drive. Picked at random for the sake of fulfilling their predetermined destinies in a pretty, pretty world without any consequence. The fact you cite it as a "Great" Final Fantasy tells me really didn't experience the others... and it shocks me you even bring 14 up at all.

@strikerk Actually I really liked 14. From a MMO viewpoint anyway. Story sucks though, but I really like the game itself. 13, sure, lacked, and as for the past? Not all games need a full backstory to be good. The story given is enough, and especially branched into 13-2. I've played through all final fantasy games and spinoffs, and I agree that MOST great final fantasy games ended at 10, although alot of the spinoffs were horrible. But then again, you have to give credit to the others.

@strikerk Not for being good, or great games, but for keeping the franchise alive and leading final fantasy in a somewhat new direction, even if from some of loyal FF gamers that strongly support the older games sees the new ones as bad or disgraceful, they may attract more attention to the final fantasy universe, and may lead to more, better games being made.

@dustinlewis1 We can only hope. I currently have lost the belief that SE will ever make a game that resonates for decades like their classic titles. To this day, it seems like they are still trying to cash in on the fame of games like FFIV, FFVI and FFVII, having lost the ingenuity of future work, by providing style over substance. FFXIII to me, was the pinnacle of this idealism of theirs, where they felt the sleight of hand of style and art would win over story and depth. It didn't. Not to me.

Getting 255 stats is easy as hell. Most boring part is to get all monsters to monster arena after that it's fast. I have now approx 90 hour save where i have all stats 255 except magic. Also few celestial weapon.

@wisefelipe You're right, but Sakaguchi left after FFX, so the story of X-2 was created by Nomura, so we can say it's SE. SS and FF in general don't exist anymore without Sakaguchi and Uematsu...

Well, I did think Omega Weapon in FFVIII was the hardest FF boss. But since it's been so long since I fought it and I never fought against Penance I guess I can't be so sure.
Omega was indeed quite ridiculous in this game though... and then even more ridiculous in X-2.
I wish it was in XIII somehow.

Cid is the only "recurring character", and it's been like that since forever. Bahamut, Shiva, Ifrit etc, are always summons. I was talking about bosses.
And while Ultima and Omega have appeared in more than 1 game, they had different roles each time, basically becoming "weaker" with each game.
The big bad optional boss had always been a different one with each different game, I'd be surprised if they had Omega be i again.
