I once heard Kathy Troccoli speak about the inspiration of this song, how she was with her mother as her mother was dying. Her mother was quietly reciting the 23rd Psalm. My 86 year old mother recently passed away. (She was part leprechaun.) She had lived with us for over 18 years, and we were with her as she passed into God's wonderful kingdom. We used this song for part of her memorial.

Thank you Kathy for giving so much of your heart in all that you do.

Of all the renditions of Psalm 23 that I have ever heard, classical or otherwise, this to me is the one most characteristic of the true nature of Psalm 23---quiet, calming, peaceful,beautiful, and yet powerful. I wish it had been more popular when it first came out.
