  • I don't know why people are getting so political. The song is about mourning for all of those good, innocent people who were lost, not about whose fault it was.

  • @lemurdragonsan we all know whos fucking fault it was...the imperialist greedy anti human london state. Love from a Welsh republican

  • @lemurdragonsan Politics my friend have a way of seeping through the toughest of surfaces.

  • its the wolfe tones that do this version , they do 2 versions , origionaly written by charles o neil , about englands rule over ireland , james connoly and patrick pearse rebelled against the english and were executed , ( england were using irish soldiers in world war 1) and families rebelled after the easter rising which the conflict between england ireland soon followed.....

  • Visca Catalunya i Irlanda lliures!!

  • It's a great piece, but we are not told who the singers are, and you don't give any names to the pictures. Unfortunately not everyone knows who these men are, especially the younger people of this YouTube generation, and it is important that they are able to know the history. So, thanks for doing this, but please do it better.

  • Here's to the 16 ! In your hearts and dreams. We'll see you all someday.

  • @ernstbecker1 the 16 were quite rightly executed ,although a massive own goal, we executed them ,a total of 23 i think, were executed total, a few years later micheal collins pro agreement IRA executed 77 anti agreement IRA , weres the videos and songs about that , and the atrocities committed by both republican groups on each other .which were even more vicious than what we had supposedly done

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish Such is war. What Britsh Regiment did you serve in, i.e. what war?

  • UH what song, tried, really tried my friend to tell the Easter Rebelion, but the song I was struck, and of course that is sung, that my eyes filled with tears, chills go through me, and say they stayed in the throat, brotherly greetings from Serbia

  • Never heard this song before.

But now I'm addicted. The lyrics are so powerful and inspirational. Outstanding.

From a Welshman that hopes his own country can follow Ireland's lead some day!

Daw y Dydd! Cymru am Byth!

  • England has been trying to get rid of Ireland for well over 100 years now. It is a sad truth that if British troops had not been sent to Northern Ireland in 1969 there would have been a bloodbath, and we would have got the blame for not behaving responsibly. Pity some here choose to close their minds and live in the 19th century. Why do you think successive UK governments have been trying to get a settlement since 1969? Problem is it doesnt make such a good song!

  • brilliant version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 26+6=1 EIRE

  • Beautifrul.

  • @bodrellbodrell thank you

  • Since you have re written WW II History -- why complain to me?

  • LOL . IE saves itself lol

  • EIRE <3

  • as soon as the murders of bloody sunday are discharged and locked up.

  • with ireland in my heart

Sempre dalla parte del popolo irlandese

  • Who is the group singing this song? I like it very much!!! Erin Go Braugh

  • @jimmyratz - its a hard one to track down, i believe its ya man from the wolfe tones - its deffo my favorite version.

  • Beautiful song, Ireland: one land one nation.

    Claudio

    from Italy

  • up the provos

  • ERIN GO BRATH!!!

  • i love this song

  • I would really like to see the day when the Irish have their complete liberty, they've been oppressed for hundreds of years, its time for it to end. Wishes of peace to that little gem of a nation XOXO

  • >> hey've been oppressed for hundreds of years, its time for it to end

Actually, the Irish have been repressed for thousands of years not hundreds. Probably tens of thousands of years.

  • @joeygsmom

We'll let History decide. Right you are -- a United Ireland ! It is a question of religion. I doubt if one would give up either being Catholic or Protestant. There is no compromise in regards to religion.

  • @joeygsmom the welsh are worst off.....englands oldest colony

  • Nothing has changed the Irish are the only ones with the guts to stand upto the European Union. Their vote set the tone for 4 other European Countries.

  • thats bollocks ,edinburg, at least ireland had the vote, england would vote no to ,funny how ireland did though as they have done so well out of europe

  • haha you should live over here, thanks to the E.U its practacly run like a communist country

  • communist? this is american capitalism, we're doing everything the yanks tell us

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish sut the fuck up ya hun bastard

  • @MrA4man bow up ya dirty swine.

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish sut the fuck up ya hun bastard

  • @MrA4man make me tiems x ya pummy swine.

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish sut the fuck up ya hun bastard

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish sut the fuck up ya hun bastard

  • @MrA4man

    Try and make me.

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish sut the fuck up ya hun bastard

  • @MrA4man lol you irish republicans make me sick , most of you want to leave ireland, and were do you come to , over here ,thats were, bloody hippocrites ,

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish From one Englishmen to another, may I just say that ye can take your petty chauvinism and stick it so far up your arse that your precious little Queen couldn't turn all of her horses and all of her men to extracting it.

  • @Traitorfish your name is apt , your no englishman if your support irish republican terrorism, scumbag ,

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish I' confused as to why you would confuse opposing your petty bigotry with support for terrorist actions; there is genuinely no series of logic step which I can see which you lead you from one to the other. I suspect, however, that whatever this bizarre process is, it lies at the heart of much of your futile hatred.

  • @Traitorfish ??/ bigotry , theres no one more bigotted than those of NI both sides , im not anti irish , or even the right of the irish to govern themselves , im anti IRA and other irish republican groups, their methods, their excuses , and their warped sense that what they did and do was not unlawful,, the hate comes from their hatred of us ,yes i hate them with a passion , have you not seen what they write here, people with page upon page off anti british tripe

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish Yer a loony.

  • @Traitorfish yeah and your a traitor , hey ive never killed or planted bombs in british civilian towns and murdered hundreds of civilians, here and in ireland , scum if you side with scum like that , look up what theve done ,not just to us,but their own people,, like beating a 14 year old joyrider , with iron bars in front of his mother, breaking his legs ,crippling him , and youve the gall to call me a loony, knobhead

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish See what I mean? You're not even *trying* to assemble a reasoned critique at this point, your just screeching and spitting at some imagined foe. I mean, how do you get from "I oppose nationalistic bigotry" to "I love the IRA so very much that it hurts". Keep hammering away at strawmen if you wish, by all means, but I'm really not sure what you hope to achieve.

  • @Traitorfish, well you havent exactly said anything contructive ,apart from shove the queen up your arse , and saying im a looney , looking at your selection of videos, god knows what you are, student, far left , havent got your handsdirty working in your life, its you who have a problem, you want to find out about a person before making judgement, a person who waves a flag , doesnt mean im a nazi, just as ,the tag i use

  • your confuseing being proud of ones country and sticking up for ones country is nationalistic, theres nothing wrong with that unless you take it to the extreme, this is an IRA republican vid, who arnt exactly a democratic ,peaceloving organsation , your not a bigot if you hate what the ira did ,dont you think the anti english things the irish say here isnt bigotry , there the biggest bigots in the world harping on about cromwell and even futher back,

  • your attacking me for being an english bigot , when it comes to these people i am, im not anti irish, im not anti catholic by far . iknow irish people in ireland and many irish here, their good people . if your against me for speaking out against the IRA , then your for them. if no one stood up to people like the IRA who run their estates like their own little kingdoms, who are the judge and jury , then you must like anarchy , mabbe you are an anarchist i dont know

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish ..Jesus you are an idiot... And for someone who refers to yourself as "The might of the English" you should actually learn both the grammar and correct spellings to use , in your own language. Na habeir eh , Ta failte romhat, Semi educated fools like you are the reason why you idiots still think you have an empire. If it wasn't for the Americans , you would all be speaking German, and you would be glad to.

  • @OSLAINTE123 the name i use was chosen to wind you irish supporters of terrorism up , prick ,you know nothing about me ,or my education , i type fast and many times make spelling mistakes ,it doesnt mean im thick mate , shove your dead language as far as you can throw it ,for as much use it will do you .

fuck the empire ,we dont want northern ireland ,your welcome to it .

you just dont get it do you ,anf without us you would be speaking german also

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish @TheMightOfTheEnglish wow.... an English ultra-conservate..... I thought that was unique to Fox news in my country. You'd fit in with them. OUR SOLDIERS DIED in D-Day. It was an Alliance invasion; I admit I need to brush up on my history; but the men who died for a lack of a global empire were primarily American that day. Maybe ALL? No historian here, but on the other note....

  • what you on about , your right you want to brush up ,, yes it was an allied army that won the war , hey im pro american, but hey you didnt win the war all by yourselves ,as a lot of your countrymen think , i was commenting on the comment that without you ,we,d be speaking german , lol , ,without you we could not have won the war and re invaded europe no, im saying that you could not of either

  • it was nothing to do with empire or preserving it, you made sure that it ended though,, it was standing up to nazi and facist agression in europe , if we hadnt stood up to hitler in 1939 and capitulated , just imagine ..

  • as for d day , yes the US suffered heavy casualties on omaha , but the battle for normandy as a whole , the casualties aroun caen were far heavier , i dont like arguing with americans ,because i know what they did in ww2 etc, were allies , even today , who was it that supported america the most ,and up to the hilt, ireland , no fear , no it was us , its our soldiers dying for an american cause

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish

An American cause? Your statement couldn't be further or was it furherer from the truth? Was it not Germany that started WW II? How long could Europe endure a Global War under the Nazi boot heel? You can thank Christ that you weren't forced to join a Hitler Youth Group and learn German. Was it not Ireland that refueled German U-Boats of its coast durng WW II?

  • @ernstbecker1 ,well it was the twin towers that bin ladens men crashed into , it was america ,who invaded iraq, nothing to do with the twin towers , and you invaded afganistan, 3 and a half thousand dead in new york, could easily of been a hundred thousand , you were attacked ,so you invaded afganistan, we being an ally joined you, we wernt attacked, there was no anti british radicals at that time in the uk until then, ,it is an american cause ,we wouldnt of been their but for you

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish Who invaded Iraq and Afhganistan? It appears that there are Pummy Regiments there. C'est le guerre ........

  • @ernstbecker1 iraq was wrong i agree, but do you see the kurds and shiites mourning saddams death, and all the surrounding countries to iraq,,, afganistan was legal, taleban regime let al qeuda train in that country ,that attacked several places ,with america and the west as targets bali bomb killed hundreds ,including british, , the american embassey bomb in kenya, killed hundreds, mainly africans, madrid bomb, the attack on uss cole,in aden, attack on 9/11 killed thousands,

  • @ernstbecker1 as for nazi europe , yes you aided us with aid , all paid for ,and brought over on british merchant ships before you joined the war , 30,000 british merchantmen died ,as well as canadian, ,the nazis could not invade, and the sea routes were kept open by the royal navy, we beat them at sea and in the battle of britain, so we saved ourselves from invasion, true we could not invade europe alone, but you couldnt of without us either, america was lucky we held out

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish

Speak to me not of Merchant ships. It was my Uncle "Red" that died when his Liberty ship was torpedoed by a German U Boat.

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish

Who, in GOD'S name, wrote your History Book ?

  • @ernstbecker1 what part dont you agree with, when ww2 broke out for us , it was 3rd september 1939 , not december 41, the first british merchant ships were sunk that day , we had lost hundreds of thousands of tonnes of shipping even before you joined, canada joined in to , it was us whos tactics defeated the u boats not america , when you joined your admiral king ,ignored good advice , to form convoys ,he sent them out one at a time and were sunk one at a time ,

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish what made ya protestants any better then the nazis. Remeber this the UDA, started war. We will finish it,

    tiocfaidh ar lá

  • @khuff9 lol you cant do much all the way in the US of A

  • Comment removed

  • @khuff9 haha 1776 you were british , so we beat ourselves, took you to collude with the french to do it, 1812 , some defeat, concidering we burnt down your white house and half of washington, and stiill ruled the waves afterwards, 1st world war you did little ,the war was practically over,ww2 2 years late with your head in the sand, if we had fallen so you would of to. as for surrendering ,as good as vietnam ,somalia , 2 places we wernt there lol you always look to us to back you up lol

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish Haha you have a few good points about 1776, and especially 1812, (Where basically our only victory(New Orleans) came AFTER a treaty was signed). Not sure about WW1, but we saved your as*es in WW2. If you disagree, answer me in German...

  • @Javah90 lol only speak english im afraid, i do disagree that you saved us , i do agree we couldnt win without you ,sept 1939 to dec 1941,not an american in sight , hardly,, after the battle of britian germany could not invade ,so you see we saved ourselves ,with the help of some foreign pilots to,before they moan lol ,all you did was sell us the arms the ammunition and so on , all paid for with intrest by the way , you gave us the supplies ,we saved ourselves ,

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish

Go piss up a rope ya swine. There are over 140,000 dead Americans buried in French cemeteries, ie. Pt. du Hoc. If not us then who else -- you? That would have been the day.

  • @ernstbecker1 theres over a million british dead in both wars ,the majority in belgium and france, and in ww2 we lost as many as you in normandy ,you wouldnt of made it across the atlantic without us ,nevermind the channel,im not anti american but you irish americans make me puke, theIRA were pro nazi, collaberated with the nazis and even threatend american troops in NI,irish republicans did nothing in both wars ,and were setting off bombs in england in early part of ww2,scum then and scum now

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish What do the Irish have to do with American KIA?

  • @ernstbecker1 your the one who mentioned americanKIA

  • @ernstbecker1 Plenty BOYO ! Just Google Irish killed in The Republic That Once Was Vietnam -- my war.

  • @Javah90 , even later we did the lions share in north africa, and sicily and italy almost half the action, and the harder of the fighting,in sicily, and had to help you at cassino, normandy we had the harder task, after dday,,full respect to america and russia, but if britian had fallen in 1940, there was a very good chance the axis would of won ww2 , in that light you could say we saved you haha ,and thats not as daft as it sounds :o) lol

  • @ernstbecker1 admiral king might as well been a nazi , with his anti british stance, the american seaboard was lit up, and he sent american ships out one at a time, for long enough , he cost the lives of many an american, until he was forced to adopt the british convoy system,, if britain had fallen, along with the royal navy ships tell me how america could of won the war , thats my question to you ps we all know who wrote your history books , hollywood lol

  • @ernstbecker1 my family

  • @OSLAINTE123 tell me ,just when has ireland ever been untited as one , and as for us speaking german how do you make that out , yes they supplied us ,but everything was more than paid for ,

we defended ourselves in the battle of britain ,no russia ,no america , they could not cross the channel and yes we couldnt either , without us holding out , america would of been isolated ,germany would of controlled the atlantic,

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish about 80 years ago dude no your facts, it was always united. Might have been under british rule no different to scotland or wales but was still united utill they split it in two!!!

  • @MsTimotay it was united under the british mate as one , your right,, i sould of said when was it ever united as one people , under the control of an all irish government , it was the will of a large minority of ulstermen who wanted the split , we just went with the lesser of 2 evils , we sould of let you have the lot ,,, then you would of said ,why didnt we do anything to stop abloody civil war ,which would of happend .the north may have split anyway

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish comical :D

  • @MsTimotay 3,500 dead wouldnt say it was comical , the higher proportion of victims , by irish republicans

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish

Were you there to count them?

  • @ernstbecker1 no my uncle went in on the 1st wave on d day, he got isolated in a german counter attack, and was shelted by local french people until it was clear, its well known the british, and canadian held the main ss divisions and counter attack around caen, while the americans broke out in the west , of course i wasnt there , my uncle and father was in the royal navy and i had 3 other uncles who fought in n africa, italy and france

  • @ernstbecker1 did you know the ira were against US forces landing in ireland and in both wars pro german ,pro nazi in ww2 , and threatend to attack any american troops in ireland

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish ya a lyin douche. Get ya facts right.

    tiocfaidh ar lá

  • @ernstbecker1

    Not I. None but History.

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish wow.... an English ultra-conservate.....

  • @OSLAINTE123 , america would not of been able to have crossed the atlantic without us , our navy at that stage was still the largest as was the merchent navy , america could not of staged d day without us either , if ameriica would of physically stayed out of europe , the war would of lasted longer , but still a victory to the soviets,so dont give us all this speaking german shite ,it was our ships who supplied us,our ships with canada who defeated the german u boats

  • @OSLAINTE123 know it all , not . you want to educate yourself while your at it , what i said of ireland was correct , from the first world war to today , the irish have killed murdered ,tortured ,and executed more of fellow irish than we have, and thats a fact , with or without spelling mistakes , your trouble is that all the shite the IRA and sein fein have spouted out ,the propaganda, you actually believe it as truth ,hey my concience is clear . unlike many IRA and their scum supporters

  • @TheMightOfTheEnglish Well, I'm honestly at a loss as to who you're actually arguing with at this point- it seems to be some sort of fictional character that you've considered for the sole purpose of decrying- so let's just agree to disagree, eh?

Although I would suggest that you do the minimum research necessary to distinguish between the Old IRA and the Provos, which you apparently do not, and maybe scan over the Black and Tans while you're there. It's eye opening stuff, so it is.

  • @Traitorfish already have ,and if you read on about the civil war between anti agreement and pro agreement republican forces , you, ll find there were more execution, more deaths and more atrocities, during them years than during the war of independence , the british executed the 16 plus 7 others , makeing 23 executions , the new irish goverment executed 77 anti agreement ira ,plus atrocities like tying 8 or so prisoners to a landmine and blowing them to bits

  • @Traitorfish yet you as and englishman attack me ,yet let these people speak of us they way they do, ive relatives who served over there , one slightly wounded at being blown up, the other was mates to then 2 corperals , who were butchered, he also was in that van , a group of signals went on a fun run for charity in NI,for local good causes, they were in civilian clothes, after the run, my relative got a lift, the van was blown to bits along with 5 signalmen.just the tip of the iceberg mate

  • @Traitorfish , whats the queen got to do with anything , petty , nothing petty about bodies torn to bits in a pub in the middle of birmingham, teenage girls unreconisible, or two young lads on the street in warrington,,and many more english civilians ,soft targets , if you call that petty , then you are a traitor to your own people, prick
