Actually, that's Roger Bobo from the days when he was recording the tracks that are on his Bobissimo album. It was recently released on the cd RAINBO-BO: The Man with the Golden Tuba. He played on a small yamaha F tuba back then, so it was actually not far from a euph. :)
I've only played tuba for a year now, but I'm learning to sing this this song in my voice lesson. It sounds really cool on the tuba and I liked the video, too.
I would complement your playing, except that it is Roger Bobo playing this. I went to his sight and this was the sample lol. Nice video, just hope you don't get in trouble for using his music.
@CathEuph a bombardino is spanish latino for euphonium and bombardon is the spanish latino word for bassline as they did not have split parts for bass 1 and bass 2 when this word was invented. this is probably why jamesvladymyr was mixed up
Hey, can i ask where you bought this piece at? a wed site? I'm a junior in college and im looking for music to play for my senior recital next year. This is one of my favorite pieces of Schubert's and i think its a great song for those easy listeners. Im a music education major. So it will be most helpful if you can help me out.
That was so great! Better than all of those other music videos on MTV! This really helped me out a lot seeing that I am competing with this song at my school to win $145.00 in two days! Thanks a lot! Very refreshing!
yea, that's a baritone or euphonium. i just played both my baritone horn and tuba for that song, and there is no way i can get that sound on my tuba -.- and i am decent.
Judging from the valve caps, this is a Besson new standard tuba, and judging by the extra bow above the valve block, it is a BBb tuba, and is certainly not the instrument on the recording, which sounds far more like a euphonium or an EEb tuba. Mystery solved!!
I've played on Besson tubas in brass bands virtually all my life, but I have yet to se a E-flat with a second bow above the valves. The overall height of the instrument have I only seen on the larger Bb-flats as well. I can't get the fingerings or lip movement to match the music either, but anyways a nice performance, from whoever playing it.
Yea I think you're right. The sound of the Tuba on this recording doesn't sound as dark as a BBb. So I think it might be an Eb or F Tuba that is playing.
Fake:(

@UMSMASTA I agree, it sounds exactly like Roger Bobo's recording. Even the piano part. Plus she never takes a breath

Is she playing a besson?

@jheaver1 Yep, it's a Besson

Looks like a New Standard model BBb (shape of valve caps) with a Wick No.2 mouthpiece. If this is the case then it's definitely mimed.

Is it just me, or does the sound actually sound like a euphonium?
MonkeyManBlues 1 year ago
@MonkeyManBlues Well, euphonium is a tenor tuba.
TricoreSonata09 1 year ago
@TricoreSonata09 Sorry, I meant the TONE sounds like that of a euphonium. I know it's a tuba.

Hauntingly beautiful... it's wonderful to see someone play the tuba seriously. There's so many videos here on Youtube that ridicule this instrument.

This is nice, I think its better on tuba, because shows her mastery of the instruments range.

Very cuuuute, but you could have chosen a smaller instrument, why the tuba ?? =)))

Pretty girl, views of Glasgow near the Uni ... and a very skilful video .... does it for me.

No, that's Rodger Bobo playing. No way a BBflat can play that high, that easily. I have this peice and I'm playing on a CC, and its not that easy.

Wonderful performance, but I just don't get the light f-tuba sound to match the sound I know you'll get from the Besson Bb-flat.
