Does anyone know the actual dates thats this story was repeated? I remember it was in episodic form and was transmited from monday to thursday in the august of 1984, with a repeat of the awakening omnibus on the friday!
i think every one agrees that they should do this again, because it's coming up to be the, what, 50th anniversary? almost? THEY SHOULD SO TOTALLY DO THIS!
@FOBAnnie If they look for some good actors to replace William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertwee, they can use ALL Doctors! Wich will be so cool!
Every time I see the Fifth Doctor all I can hear is Ten going "Hey, I'm the Doctor! I can save the universe using a kettle and some string - and look at me, I'm wearin' a vegetable!" :D
@ion010101 That's because this is the special edition, which was released on VHS in 1995 and it was rereleased on DVD along with the original transmitted edition in 2008.
DON'T BOTHER WATCHING THIS VIDEO.. BBC HAS BLOCKED HALF THE EPISODES.. on every copy I've been able to find, even the horrible 'Lucky Tardis" ones.. i'd wanted to see tis episode for 25 years .. i guess not yet, still...
Five Doctors was the first Doctor Who story I ever saw. I was a little kid and found a tape of it my parents had recorded off of PBS. I wore that tape OUT. I thought the Raston Warrior and the Cybermen were the coolest things I'd ever seen.
Holy TARDIS! Peter collapsed as if he was his future son-in-law-to-be collapsing in the beginning of "The Christmas Invasion"! What's the nasty old writer gone and done to you?
There should be one where the 11th doctor realizes he cannot face a new threat alone, so he goes back and recruits all his previous selves and they team up against the New Daleks
@geargrinder87 Yes, for the sake of all that is good and sane, EXTERMINATE those stupid, idiotic multicolored plastic kitchen appliances they are trying to pass off as Daleks.
Bring back the *real* Daleks..
The darker, metallic, scary-though-they-look-sorta-like-salt-shakers-with-toilet-plungers-attached Daleks, which sent generations of kids hiding behind the sofa.
Perhaps some of the real Daleks survive, and they can exterminate the "New Dalek" impostors in a blaze of rainbow carnage.
@SeumasColm Why don't you like them? I'm sure when the Daleks first appeared some people thought, how can someone who likes a salt/pepper shaker with a toilet plunger be scary?
Also, it can't be because of the colors, because we've seen gold, silver, and red Daleks (blue if you count the Peter Cushing Dr. Who films) and maybe others. Additionally, the fact they are different colors might make them "cuter" which just adds to the fact that despite how not harmful they look they are harmful.
@dcrllheyns 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11!! Hell yeah! 50th aniversery in 2013, David Tennant is comming back, would also like to see regeneration from 8-9 :/
@dcrllheyns They most likely will. There's already rumors about Tennent coming back to work with Smith. With the likely use of Omega as the big bad for the next season, it wold make sense.
@balthier1983 The Master was also destroyed multiple times, as were the Daleks. They keep coming back. In the world of Who, no enemy that appears in multiple arcs is ever truly gone. There's always a way they can bring them back. Also, Omega actually was the big bad in Arc of Infinity (Peter Davidson- 5th Doctor) I suggest you watch it. It's a good arc!
I used to watch the Fifth Doctor episodes at my grandmother's house when I was a child. I don't really remember a lot of the specific stories, but I do remember this one quite clearly.
did u add the new effect on the triangula shape thing that captures the doctors. I remember in the original it was a very out of place red trangle that flew into shot?
Z) What is the opening scene of the actual First Doctor and why is it monochrome, when later scenes of him are in color? or is his conclusion in monochrome? So many parts to this question.
@QuikVidGuy Richard Hurndall. He was actually an old friend of William Hartnell. But the clip at the beginning *is* William Hartnell. It's a cilp from the Episode where his granddaughter, Susan, leaves to live on a future Earth after the Dalek war, having fallen in love with David, a freedom fighter. That was "The Dalek Invasion of Earth".
@QuikVidGuy It's in Black and White because the original episodes were filmed in Black and White. And he's saying he'll come back to Susan, and in this episode, they are reunited. At the end of the episode, he's also the one who solves the puzzle of Rassilon's inscription "He who wins shall lose, and he that loses shall win." He's the only one of his regenerations who ends up being right about "allowing" Borusa to win Rassilon's gift of immortality.
