  • Very Cool...

  • I thought that plane was gonna crash

  • Flew in from Miami Beach BOAC didn't get to bed last night..........back in the US back in the Us back in the USSR!

  • Nice vintage shots of Hong Kong =]

  • The Aircraft were noisey, not as insulated and not nearly as safe as today. There were no personal entertainment systems or flight status video in the back of seats. No GPS tracking and advance warning systems like today. Just old Radar and Radio communication.

Sure it looks like a 'nicer' world but if you were to go back there is a lot you would miss. I'm talking about long Haul here not Low Fare short haul with regards to creature comforts. Boac Comet or A340 or B777. No contest. Sorry.

  • yeah working for the airlines is the pits these days. The cheaper the airline the worse it is...

  • There was something soothing about BOAC the same as there is a certain class that fly British Airways. Lovely Roy Budd`esque keyboards!

  • Does anyone know if this is Harry Stoneham on the organ?

  • I am seeing many videos from your channel before my subscription, and everything to be seen looks like gold nuggets! Thank you for opening our memories with your own.

  • Perfect.

I always have this music in my head, it has sort of been metaphysically transferred there from living in proximity to this era, but I have never done that much etymological/musicological work.

    Great.

    Love you.

  • This music and the 60's images give me some kind of strange 'airy feeling' as if everything in the world is just fine. We need to get this feeling back to the world. The world needs to brush away some negative state of mind. A complete reform in arts, science, literature, politics and poetry is needed to bring happiness back.

  • Gone forever are the glory days of air travel. BOAC what a superb aircraft she was!

  • Music reminds me alot of what I used to hear from "The Persuaders" Tv show.

  • A time machine back to 1969 please.

    One-way, of course.

  • Those were the days to travel. Today everything is so strealined and non-stop..hate non-stop.

  • Excellent video!

  • Cool video. That sure looks like Hong Kong at 0:02-0:26.

  • Thanks man. It is HK... well spotted

  • sounds like music from some clint eastwood dirty harry movie or somethin !

  • Great organ, nice tune

  • gotta love that organ!

  • In the 60s and 70s, any employee of BOAC got 2 free trips to anywhere every 5 years. Even the cleaners. You could go to more than one place on several planes. Counted as one trip. My father was an engine fitter, and we went all over the world 'cos flying was free.

  • Any one still remembered what BOAC stands for??? I used to use BOAC travel bag to carry books back to school.

  • British Overseas Airways Corporation... I used a BOAC flight bag as a briefcase for a while... till it fell apart.

  • haha, thanks for the replied. guess we are of the same generation. greetings!

  • I used to have one of those in the 60's, a kind of blue vinyl shoulder holdall with white piping on the seams and of course the BOAC logo

  • That's the one that I got. Very useful for a student and inexpensive too. The thing is that you need to go to the BOAC's booking office to get it.

  • My father worked for BOAC in the 60s and I so wish it was me! I work for BA now - there is no comparison! True jet set then - the origins of it all. Now just miserable business men and chav scum. If I only had a time machine...

  • Just say thank god you don't work for EasyJet or Ryan Air...

  • So did my father! Was it in a building called: "Internal Block A"? Wonder if it's still there?

  • My father was a steward in the 60s. Don't know about Internal Block A, might still be there under another name. Was it over at West Base?

  • Not everyone was impressed with BOAC...i remember people saying the letters stood for "Better On A Camel!!!"

  • Remember Dan Air? - folks used to call it Dan Dare!

  • I was in the BOAC Junior Jet Set in the 1960s!

  • Me too. I've still got the log-book. How many miles did you knock up?

  • I use to have that little dark blue book, with blue pages inside. [1965]

But it was called: "Junior Jet-Club Book".

  • Yes, but if you had one with mileage written in by the captain or pilot (couldn't be a stewardess), you were part of the junior jet set. Very 60s, like the Chelsea set. I'd rather have been in the mile high club though.

  • @drwinkle101 I had one in the 60's. I remember it being called: "The Junior Jet-Club Book".

  • @razor71927 Oh, I see now, if it was written & signed by the captain "you" were part of the "Jet-Set". Yes, mine was written & signed by the captain - but only the once on my way to Italy in 1965.

  • Like the mix!!!

  • Nice music... the album is hard to find though.
