  • Strange but I loved this song and still now, the name of the song Is magical.

  • lyrics are still uplifting

  • Classic Simenon track, this guy was the master of the breakbeat, with his fused samples and underlying Hip-Hop beat. He was way out on his own leading the pack.

  • This is one of my vinyl singles i´ve bought.

    Great. Thx for upload!

  • A big influence for Anggun's "Snow on the Sahara"

  • in the midle of the nintiees . . .

    never forget

    the time has gone

    the music is still alive

  • Just perfect then, now and forever...

  • best bit 2:38

  • Absolutely love this!!!

  • Brilliant tune, song and is that 'dub' up there wirth 'Higher than the Sun' Primal Scream all time classic.

    Majic.

  • got this on 12 wasnt it recorded in some kinda new stereo have to get record out sounds real good on here

  • one of the best song ever.

  • Bomb the bass rules !!

  • memories from -91.. good ones..

  • To those of you who like this song, check out "Keep Giving Me Love", also by Bomb The Bass". The vocals were again sung by Loretta Heywood. The video is on Youtube.

  • lyrics excessively imbued with a heavy metaphor, if i was to be uber-critical. As a tune of pioneering quality its depth of simplicity was unrivaled. I love it!

  • i agree great tune great memories

  • top memories & top toone , top upload dude ,

  • fantastic production

  • Mannn listen how deep the bass sound. I heard the Chemical Brothers once say they were jealous of low they could make it. I can understand.

  • a beautiful song

  • the gay djs in my country really loved this song.

    lulluzzyluz

  • btw who is the vocalist-any ideas anyone? Is she mixed race(I love) or white(I love as well)? Just curious thats all

    Ade

  • she looks black to me.

  • The vocalist on this song (Winter In July) is 'Loretta Heywood' she co-wrote it too, great voice!! :-)

  • uau, I was natural blond then....

  • OMG!! I thought this song was basically lost in my head/memory. I heard it when I was in Scotland, so the title is kinda appropriate. MANY props for posting!!

  • not 1988

  • 20 yrs old....wow, its like yesterday this was out to me.....fuking classic!!

    awesome!

  • AMAZING TRACK...........

  • Today on my way to work I listened to old cd with this song on it. Great! I remembered I used to listen others from BtB also.

  • a big inlfuence for anggun's snow in the sahara

  • Cant believe this is almost twenty years old now! Still sounds so fresh.

  • I can remember this song like it was yesterday. i sound like an old fart!! watched it on vhs and thought it was much more mature than "beat dis" although that was pure class as well

  • Lol

I agree, pretty difficult to worry about the lyrics when the singer's this hot!

  • don't know about the lyrics, but back in the day i thought the vocalist was a total fox. great tune thanks for posting X

  • it is winter in july in auckland,nz

  • I prefer Sarah Brightman's version but this version still rocks!!!! Play it on a HUGE stereo, it will send shivers down your spine.

  • This song changed my life. It came out at just the right time for me and just said what I needed to hear. I know I sound like a poncy cow but I swear it's true! Love it now still.

  • Does that mean Ur still a MoleinaHole now still ? :3

  • Only on VERY bad days! ;-]

  • You are right. But it's a difficult subject and I just wanted to give a short answer to that question. Actually right now most people have to suffer because of the crisis that is going on. And we can not deal with it, it's something some people have created. But still we have to think positive, because life is way too short.

  • Has anyone listened to the words and message? Why are we Fighting each other?

  • I think it's not about fighting each other, but about making the best of your life no matter in what circumstances you have become on this world. Try to live like you wish to do and have fun, because life can be mean.

  • Yes, I agree, but instead of making our own choices we allow others to make them for us and take no responsibility. Life's too short to continuously live in the past with generations of hatred. Carpe Diem and enjoy it without hurting others. It's not life which is mean, it's People.

  • And think of all the people whose life has changed in the past during great wars, who couldn't live their dream. It's something we as individuals cannot fight against. Mankind hasn't learned about the mistakes from the past. And it's important for each individual to do the things one has always wanted to do without taking respect for each other, because may be there is no tomorrow and you haven't completed your own mission. So enjoy it every day you can.

  • I can't help wondering, did you knew what the lyrics was about? Take care now.

  • F""k I haven't heard this for years! Sounded better on the old sony walkman. Hmm,I wonder what other random old school is on this site?

  • you forget just how good an album is when you dont hear it for 15 years!

I used to work as a lifeguard and before the pool opened we used to whack this tape(!) over the PA at full blast, jeez the acoustics were dynamite and it sends shivers down my spine just remembering.

    Awesome, just simply awesome.

  • I like it!

  • I like the song but I prefer Sara Brightman

  • Awesome!

  • this video really takes me back to when i was 15 - great then and it still is now!!

  • love this song

  • This used to always take me 2 another place.

    still does

  • Beautiful track,makes feel,makes me think.

  • As much of a classic as Massive Attack's Unfinished Sympathy, timeless chilled trip hop for want of a better genre, great pop, so far ahead of its time, nearly 20 years old and as fresh as next week !!

  • I've been in love with Loretta Heywood for so long....what's she doing now?

  • This takes me back. Still sounds brilliant.

I'm gonna have to make sure i check them out at the big chill next week. =)

  • Awesome tune, and missed greatly....

  • Loretta Heywood is hot!

  • HONESTLY...is there really a better chill/ pop track out there.... Im a Dj soon 40 still think this and his cover version of say a little prayer is the best fucking ballad... chill.... groove in history.... and I play and love everything from folks music to the super deep underground sick stuff.. love you Tim Simmenon aka Bomb the Bass...

  • You're right,I think BTB's version of "say a little prayer" is way better than original. And Tim is the nicest person in show biz, trust me ;)

  • Sarah Brightman´s cover of this song is in her La Luna album...its somewhat different. But the originals are always better.

  • Actually now having listened to it again the lyrics are probably more relevant than back then lol.

  • Good posting, thanks.

This came out when I first went away to sea on my first ship, a super tanker. Was just a kid then and the lyrics made a lot of sense to me, they re-assured me. An uncertain but great time.

    Thks

    Alex

  • Yesss! Amazing that after 17 years this song still sounds this good. It was so ahead of its time, I loved it then and I love it even more now I understand the significance of the lyrics. The 90s was such a great era for conscious electronica and dance music!
