Can't Stand Me Now is poetry and drama as well as a solid tune. Problem with a sing-song? It's called having fun with 80,000 other people to a true 'I was there' moment. Don't pity and patronise us, we pity you. The UK is one of the best places for live music on this planet, the crowds are incredible.

I never got the Strokes craze, or the Libs fever, or even enamored with AM.

AM have the best lyrics in a spitfire kind of way, there is a certain woozy shamanism that the Strokes have. Libs have catchy nice tunes, and some good lines here or there.

If you're looking for lyrics you should be digging up Johnny Cooper Clarke and Bob Dylan records anyway.

@20TKUK11 Funny you say that, I've been comparing three bands allot recently. AM were the first of the 3 I like and have only recently really listened to The Libs and The Strokes... but I have come to a very similar conclusion. Although, as you say, being from the UK maybe The Strokes don't speak out for me as much as WPSIATWIN did when it first came out, then I recently got a copy of Up the Bracket and it fits in right behind the Monkeys as a second favourite album of the 2000's.
