Just like to say getting excalibur 2 and everything in game is very much possible even doing it at level 1

get excalibur 2 and all the coffee's it's impossible. not to mention jump rope and hippal's mini game. can't be done.

@Kyojinsei In one playthrough? No I doubt it can. Getting excalibur 2 pretty much requires you to not do anything but the main quest.

@ProThesaurus They are possible, you can get everything "missable" and still get Excalibur II in one play through.

@ProThesaurus Chocographs are pretty easy to get really. You just keep resetting the game until you get one on your first game then run out and save quickly and keep repeating that. You should go read Atomos199's Excalibur II Perfect Game guide on Gamefaqs. He does an amazing job giving you the target times and target gils for each segment.

I used to be obsessed with getting a near-perfect FF9 file. I was close, but I somehow missed a weapon for Freya, which i was unable to get on CD4, so she lacked one of her Dragon commands. I was so pissed off lol

Well... I think it's a nice save... but not perfect. The perfect file on FFIX doesn't exist, simply 'cause you can't have hammer & Steiner's last armor at the same time without cheating.

You ain't got all key items (Rank-S medal, King of jump rope, Moogle suit, Mini-Brahnet, etc.) only one Dark Matter while you can have tree beating Ozma, no best rank on Tetra-Master...

Anyway, it's nice... but not perfect.

The perfect game in FF9 not exist, look u characters, they arent perfect, because u not go up Marcus to level 99 (then he gives to eiko his stats). Nobody can get up Marcus to level 99 + obtain Excalibur II. The FF9 is a game that is imposible finish to 100%.

Very nice save, but all must remember that the perfect game in FF9 not exist!.

Not quite there. I've got Excalibur II and Tin Armor for my file too (they were hacked in lol). I have one of everything except for 'King of Jump Rope' key item.

@totalybadass 1:06 he has Ultima Weapon in his inventory and at 2:24 it shows Sir Rusty/Steiner equipped with Excalibur II

Also good job on collecting everything Lindaru, here I thought the whole 12 hours deal was impossible and sure enough I'm proven wrong.

Did you finish all sidequests? and how did you manage to get your characters at level99+ but didn't manage to get all character abilities?! and i guess you don't have all key items. but NICE file anyway, not "perfect" though.

Only King of Jump Rope and Athlete Queen are the ones that I don't have. :(

Getting 1000 jumps to get an Key Item is pain to do.

@Lindaru in my case, I've spent months trying all these sidequests and also the Tetra Master thing (get all cards with 8 arrows and make them most powerful possible). This meant reseting and reloading several times.

My disappointment on tetra-master occurs when I realized these cards didn't make anything special in the game. -_-

Very nice save state you have here. =D Invested a hell of a lot of time in here to achieve this! Working on FF IX for the 8th time right now and hopefully going to try and do it in 12 hours.

@Lindaru If you go through the game as level 1, then equip all the best equipment and level straight to 99, thosea re about as perfect as you can get.

Ozma too, and Ozma is easily the hardest boss in the entire game.

One question, why dont you use QUINA. BLUE MAGIC IS FUCKING WEIRD. it makes 9999 damage with a little bit of 10 PM with CROAC and u can make Total Barrier to protect your mates.

Well mmm it is not perfect play. you dont have excalibur 2. anyway it is impossible to have other things if u want to end the game in 12 h XD, square enix are a little bit crazy. Anyway you are nice on 99,99999999% perfect XD

@cobracop1 I am starting to do the perfect play on my PSONE. I have done the 1st CD. Im in the 2nd CD inside treno. LOL 15 hours LOL. who gains excalibur 2 is a bit stupid in my opinion, is fucin crazy and loses all the special gameplay.

And it IS possible.... on an American version

The European version is marginally slower, so it's just barely impossible

@DNAngelnut The only reason Save the Queen is available is to add a special ending to the game...that's the only purpose for it, unless you cheat your way into having Beatrix in your party.

To get Hammer:

You have to do Stallazio coin side-quest

To get Excalibur II:

You have to defeat Lich in Memoria in under 12 hours and you will notice an "!" on the right pillar.Press X very fast,if you miss this,you will NEVER get this weapon. "this is considered,the most challenging weapon for Steiner to get"
