Being a coin collector can be compared to being a drug addict. Drug addicts start with marijuana (inexpensive modern coins). The user then meets other advanced users (collectors) and gets hooked on more addictive drugs (expensive uncirculated 19th century and gold coins). Then the user has to go to rehab (a coin club) to try to cope with his addiction. He tells himself he can quit at any time, but still cannot resist the urge to go to local coin shows and browze Ebay.
