DESDE LA PRIMERA VEZ Q ESCUCHE A CAMEL DEJE DE SER EL MISMO... AHORA CON CAMEL EN MI REPERTORIO, NADA HA SIDO IGUAL. . . MI VIDA JAMAS SERA LA MISMA. . . SIN ESTA MUSICA MI VIDA SERIA UN ERROR
flute and music in general can bring us sleep, too when sleep is an awakening to the rest that nurtures: the restive of a rebirth, momentary or millennial -- music shifts the gears of being, engages us into modes of reality, the ragas: scale modalities of our living -- music a miracle
like whistling, flute grabs your attention and moves us into an awareness, an awake state; drums hold our attention and give it a sustained sense of continuity; keys and strings nurture and grow our attention into a greater, nuanced awareness of our being in relation to the wider universe -- the interplay of dissonance and consonance expands our consciousness in its work to understand the world/ universe.
Camel's Snow Goose forms a cultural bridge to the programme music appeal of the Romantic era such as Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, Grieg's Per Gynt Suite, and others, even classical and Baroque era works such as The Seasons by both Vivaldi and Haydn. Unify the genres of music and you make the genres more listener friendly -- we all gain much in this sharing of musical branches onto a greater tree of music.
@WizardofFuzz its a yamaha sg2000 or sg3000....got one myself....amazing guitars.dam heavy though...some have the coiltaps on the tone pots which make it a very versatile guitar.
@WizardofFuzz It's a Yamaha SG, probably SG2000 or so. They are heavy as hell, but quite wonderful. Not so expensive as a Gibson though, so if you save your money and have patience you'll probably get your hands on a used one some day :)
Beautiful Snow Goose was my initial introduction to Camel, and I first heard it on cassette tape whilst working in the marshland bordering Iraq and Iran in the mid-seventies. The theme was very relavant at the time, and it will stay with me forever.
Yep, Richard Sinclair on bass. Andrew Latimer on guitar and flute, Peter Bardens on the keyboards, Andy Ward on drums and Mel Collins on saxes and flute.
soy de madrid chaval, jajaja y superfans de Camel, cuando vi el cartel no me lo creia, pense q era un anuncio d tabaco,y por fin los vi en directo, aen la riviera, perfectos....cual es tu album favorito? el mio es Mirage...
Camel have been my Favourite band EVER for the last 28 years and they still stand alone. No-one produces music with as much beauty in it as they do (moreso in the first six albums methinks). Seen em about 5 times, met andy once. Hey all this time Im been a fan and Ive NEVER read THE SNOW GOOSE by Paul Gallico until this week! You should try it folks! It adds a whole extra dimention to this album. What a masterpiece it is. What Genius's Andy, Pete,Andy and the rest of the band are.
I only just discovered this group while viewing some yes songs on here. I'm loving this group now oh yeah. I dont like todays music anyway, I dont listen to that crap. This is the stuff man.
camels album rajaz is one of the best albums ever made....and i listen mostly to metal but i can`t stop listen to camel and they shuld be right up there with pink floyd
i'm just 17, i think not nearly enough people my age have heard of them. even among the broader minded ones. It seems strange listening to them, as if i'm way too young to be able to. i only know them because my this album came out when my dad was my age.. but i love them, so much of the best music can be found in the past.
im 22, and they are one of my favorite bands out there, we young progheads are out there, dont forget that we exist, and we wil carry the torch further down the road, so bands like camel, king crimson, tull, caravan, etc arent forgotten.

What a step back in time...brought tears of joy to my eyes remembering back to when I saw the complete performance at Friars in Aylesbury on the Snow Goose tour....fantastic....
camel is my favorite band EVER, they are so great, for those who dont know them well, here are for me his best albums: camel-camel, moonmadness, the snow goose, mirage, nude, rain dances, if you want information about them just write to me, ok bye...
With all respect to this amazing video (and i thank LedHalen for posting it) i have to say that in comparison to the CD album in her the tempo here is too fast, so i think u should listen to the CD before listening to this video clip to really grasp the beautifullness of this musical piece
THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting these video clips of Camel... I gave up trying to find them altho I knew they existed.. One of the most melodic and tight bands ever....
Yeahhhh! This rocks! I definetly prefer this version over the one I uploaded, this is almost the original, you should get the cd "A Live Record" it's a 2-CD collection of Camel's concerts from 1975-78, and they played all the Snow Goose (Master Piece) with the original line-up + the London Symphony Orchestra (disc 2)...
