@marcstreetballa4life nothing happens ... like JN2 said there is a right way and a wong way to use those tools , some people prefer not using them but others prefer lifting with them .. some people abuse them , they are tools if you use them correctly they are a great help
oh and what are your thoughts about using the belt too much. some people say you can develop some instability if you do all your squatting (including light weight) with a belt. others say you learn to use the belt better that way (sounds absurd but...)
I use a belt most of the time when the weight gets "heavy". There IS a right way and a wrong way to use a belt for sure - I thought I at least mentioned it here, but you should look into some WS Barbell stuff for more.
No matter what, the belt is certainly no cure for a weak midsection.
i wear the belt exceptionally for over 90% lifts on exercises that require it. tho my lifts are small with 1,5 years of strength training...
i had a disc squished at one point due to poor technique. did a lot of core strengthening after that (every way i could think of) and it helped a lot. but the lower back still feels week from time to time, staying away from the belt seems to be working ok tho.
You should keep your leg straight as you wrap and flex your quad to keep the knee cap in line.
