I must say that watching this live during these playoffs has been quite moving.

@monox2k the lady on the ice is lauren hart, shes the daughter of gene hart who used to be the announcer for the flyers for like 30yrs or something and kate smith's rendition of God Bless America has been played on different occasions at flyers games for bout the same time and when they would play it, the team seemed to preform better so its like a tradition... and they made a statue for her thats outside the spectrum, they might have moved it to the wachovia center tho?

Kate Smith, best-known for her rendition of God Bless America, was a very famous singer in the States from the 1930s up to the 1980s. She became a good-luck charm for the Flyers starting in the late 1960s.

She sang live at the Spectrum on May 19, 1974, the day the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup. Counting the duets with Lauren Hart, daughter of Hall of Fame announcer Gene Hart, GBA has a record of 87-23-4 as of the end of the 2009-10 season.
