@VeryParanoidAndroid thank you very much!! i tried to keep it as simple as possible, but technical enough to get the facts. thanks again, and thanks for watching!!!!!
I am not going to lie I thought this was going to be a fucking joke but you actually made a really educational video man. All serious especially with what you had.
Great vidoe, thanks, think you've helped me undertand my problem a bit! My ride on which has a 13hp briggs flathead was using oil and smoking!!! So I'v replaced head gasket, gas lines and filter, changed oil and splark plug, cleaned carby thanks to your instructions! But it's still smoking a bit, blimey, smells like too much gas but I'v noticed a bit of oil in breather valve spring box thingy, it's like there's too much oil but the dipstick reads correct Hoping you have an opinion please!!
@billzaink Thank you! well on flatheads replacing head gaskets isn't gong to help any with burning oil. What usually happens is 1, the piston rings wear out and allow oil to get past them and burn in the combustion chamber, which also reduces compression and power, or the valve guides start to wear and allow to seep in past the valve stems. Oil in the valve spring area is normal. You can run STP or thicker oil treatment to help reduce smoke, but its best to rebuild. Thanks for watching my videos
@fnaguitarplayer9 Ok then, that's what I'll do then, Rebuild! Gz I can't believe I really didn't know alot about small motors until a couple of weeks ago, my tool collection has expanded as well as the fun and learning, thanks heaps again for your videos, there's no way I would have touched the engine otherwise, off to buy more tools and some rings etc!!!
@billzaink well i wish you luck on your first rebuild, follow my videos and there are several other great videos on here that are really good, that show rebuilds too. no problem at all, i'm glad i could help. i have a video recorded (not edited/uploaded yet) that shows all the basic tools needed for small engine repair. hope to have it up soon. go to tulsa engine ware house (tewarehouse ) for aftermarket brand parts to save some money, or go with briggs brand
Well explained, took your time and made it clear so us noobs could follow, good job, thanks for taking the time to make it.
