    Population 2009 - 54,169

    WTF!

  • @piracymoney THATS NOT THE REAL POPULATION.THE REAL POPULATION OF PENSACOLA DONT EVEN LIVE IN THE CITY LIMITS OF PENSACOLA. MOST OF US STAY IN THE COUNTY OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY.WHICH HAS POPULATION OF 300,000 STRONG! LOOK IT UP.

  • @850SneakerHead I know it went from 250K to 400K, thank you all caps rage guy.

  • @850SneakerHead Yes, it is the real population of Pensacola. The region is much larger, but that has little to do with the municipal tax base and city population.

  • @mailgilbs True, i recent thought about and realize that the city limit of Pensacola is very smaller than the region of Pensacola which include smaller towns such as West Pensacola,Brent,Ferry Pass,Warrington, and Ensley.

  • Pitstop-Pensacola...

  • tip345 you can stay away ..

  • Awesome! I am a native of Pensacola born the year before this video was made. Prettiest place on earth! The Floridians Florida.

  • Pensacola! On the map. NO, it's not a soft drink...

  • ‎This makes Pcola look and sound like a giant lollipop of love and tranquility, what the F happened??

  • @lukeInf86 walmart took over

  • Too bad it's a retirement village now... Pensacola used to be sexy, paramount, capital, a regular trend setter. Now its a ghost town, creeping with old, dusty people, who work part time at walmart greeting other old people.

  • @Tip345 agreed

  • @Tip345 well they lost business when the sancarlos hotel was tooken down, stars used to got there. and all the entertainment on the beach which has tooken the business away from pensacola downtown, its too layed back , they are scared of change. it could be one of the most popular cities along the gulf coast.they really need a change

  • Thank you! We moved here in 1947, so it was refreshing to see. Couldn't believe the shot of the airport! I can remember when 9th Ave was a dirt road out that way when they started building the junior college.

  • I like this video. i went to Pensacola 6/13/11 an there was no oil.

also no oil on Santa Rosa island an gulf breeze national sea shore.

  • I like this video. i went to Pensacola 6/13/11 an there was no oil.

  • @0903devildog

There was never any oil in Pensacola or anywhere on the emerald coast. The media blew everything out of proportion.

  • Great video. Do you have anymore? I never knew John Dodson, but I do know his wife Peggy.

  • Robin,

thanks so much for posting. So many great memories! Makes me proud to be a native Pensacolian.

  • I really enjoyed watching the video. My father use to work at N.A.S. Pensacola from 1950 to 1986. We loved going to the Aviation Museum. Going to Pensacola when my sister and I were kids was a big deal to us we usually went on a big shopping trip and go out to eat. Thanks for sharing.

  • I can't believe this has so many hits already! Just shows you what a great place this is, that so many folks have so many fond memories of living or visiting here.

So glad we could put it on YouTube!

    - Robin

  • This is awesome! Really brings back memories of the good ol' days! My dad worked for WEAR during this time and was really good friends with John Dodson. Thanks for sharing!

  • That was great! Sad to see the Hotel San Carlos and Municipal Auditorium gone. The beach looked so vacant!

Thanks for posting - it brought back a lot of childhood memories.

  • This is great. Where is the world did you find this video. I love surf bathing in the Gulf.

  • That was cool. Brought back a lot of memories from my early childhood. I kept watching thinking I might see me and my family in our old Pontiac Tempest or Ford Mustang.

  • I love this kind of stuff!

  • The guy carrying the American Flag on the brown horse is my dad. This is special to me as we have no movies of him. What a surprise !!!!!!
