A good book like Mark Wilson's Complete Course in Magic will teach a student an enormous amount of basics.

I could tell what you did before i even finished watching the trick,you just did a shapeshifer and the ten was under the 5. You could tell there was a card under the 5 bcuz of how carefully you set it down,
