I prefer knowing which parts I put in my box (never had a mac up and quit on me, I have an apple from the mid-1990's and I still play power-pete on it! =D ) But I like more intense games now, So I prefer to know which parts blow up if they ever do ;p

Modern Warfare 1 or 2

Call of Duty Black Ops (when it comes out)

Supreme Commander (any of them.)

Any of them? No? Not a single one? Well then, what IS gaming on a mac? Using Microsoft Office? Ironic how Apple actually paid Microsoft to be able to use it on Macs, and then tries to make it look nerdy.

No, you wont get awesome games on a mac (at the moment i have civ 3, age of empires 3, assasins creed, NFS: most wanted, CoD 4, sims 3 ect..) but if you arent a hardcore gamer there is no need to stick with a pc. believe me, i was like all of you making fun of macs and paying out my mates at school. then i got a mac and i felt like pc had been ripping me off the whole time... sigh.

Mac FTW and not only for media but all other stuff, everything is so simple (e.g. no drivers to update...) You always have full support from Mac Geniuses and it never crashes, hasn't any virus. PC might be better for gaming, but I prefer my PS3 for that anyway...

Macs are great for media. Pictures, videos, music, that's all Mac stuff, and it makes a great work horse. Personally, I like Mac for their OS X, optimized UI and product longevity. They don't slow down, you don't need to defrag, and they last for several years.

If you want to game, go with a PC or a console (PS3, 360, etc.). If you look to a Mac for gaming, you will be disappointed with their selection. It may change in the future, but right now you don't want a Mac to game.

I have had a macbook pro for 2 years and its only the second year but its still slow as shit.  Pc is for people who know what they are doing and dont need to have their hand held while they do stuff

@SirChromealot they only work better for media out of the box. If you know how to use google - heck, you don't even need that - microsoft makes free versions of everything mac has and loads of mac software runs on PC's.

The only reason pc's 'slow down' is when you pile loads of toolbars into ie or have 5 virus checkers you don't need. Besides, you can pay half the price for a pc that is faster than any equivelant mac product AND customise it to your own spec and needs.

@SirChromealot Actually, it depends on what sort of gaming you're doing. I don't want to start a big argument here, but Portal 2 runs better on my new MacBook Pro than it did on an Alienware M15X. There's also the Mac App Store and Steam, where you can get most games now. I'll admit, PC is better for some games, but Mac is catching up really fast and shouldn't be behind much longer.

@jackcrazeanim i don't think so, hmm.... for comparison, i got new hp dv7 with sandy brige (2820qm) and radeon 6770 for just 1799 compared to new line macbook pros, mine is cheaper and stronger, not say i also had g73jw with 460m for just 1899 again cheaper and stronger, macbook pros in my opinion is good, but not worth the price, well i mean i can run mac on my G73jw and obviously more stronger than macbook pros
