  • It's okay for a work truck maybe...But that's pretty terrible for a roller job.

You were too rough with the roller(Or bought a really shitty, ultra pitted, one)...Which is why it left that consistency in the paint. Lots of better examples of a proper roller job on YT.

TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN A ROLLER JOB! NO BLACK!Black shows TONS of subtle paint effors/dents/imperfections ect. The darker the color...The harder it is to get a satisfactory result. This rule goes for all styles of painting.

  • LOOKS LIKE DOG SHIT

  • I have used rustoleum from SPRAY AREOSOL CAN. no orange peel if you know how to spray, rustoleum FTW ! True you can get better results with pro tools but for basic solid color paint job, rustoleum's ths shiz.. but get spray-can for better finish

  • what the fuck are you doing with a paint roller on a car? its called spray paint

  • Wet sand and buff then your set! I think you should have thinned the paint a little more if it had that much peel

  • a eso le llamo arruinar una pick up

  • Hi...I want to know exactly how you did it...start to finish....I refuse to pay for someone to paint my car when I can do it myself....The year after result is great.....let me know .....

  • @jss1591 you really cant say you could do it yourself if your asking how to do it...Do what afar1 said buy a compresor paint gun and real auto paint paintforcarsDoTcom has GREAT paint for CHEAP direct to metal primer the base coat and clear and everthing you need for like 280$ thats cheap...400$ compresser paint gun kit from east wood 170$ paint $280 air dryer 280$ lil over grand you could have a really nice shiny car ...Searisly

  • @Codythecartaker For a show winner or something i could see your point, or if you have a decent hot rod like say a 55 Chevy, Id go the route your suggesting because 1000+ isnt too bad for a great paint job if you do it yourself, but understand, this is 50 bucks were talking about here 950+ bucks cheaper. Im doing this to my 89 Suburban and it looks pretty dang good for what it is, looks WAY better then the old paint, and its cheap. their vehicle isnt the best, so this makes more sense.

  • @jss1591 I as well did the 50 dollar paint job on my f150 with a 6'' roller and rustoleum paint. Just be prepared for a lot of heat from all the doubters. lol... I find it quite amusing because for the 50 dollar paint job i did, people in person cannot believe it can be done. just take your time, and happy rolling. If i can help, Hit me up.

  • WORST JOB I'VE EVER SEEN DONE...

  • It just needs wet sanded and buffed.

  • Can you say.. GROSS JOB!.. I want my 3.09 minutes back. Another redneck job.

  • he didnt mix it correcty for his temp and mositure level

  • if you use the better brush and rollers like perdue brand it will look alot better .. and cost two coat plus clear coat it will look perfessional

  • u should have used a high density roller and u wont get that orange peel look ...... BTW that drive-way is going to need a second coat lmao

  • Oh and don't listen to anyone,if this pleases YOU it's none of your business if it pleases the others too. Btw you can anytime sand the paint wet with 400-600 grit till it's smooth and apply a clear coat with a sprayer,it will be thin and a simple scratch will uncover the old paint but it will look way better.

  • I can't really say it looks good for a paint job,but for Rustoleum on car with a roller it's perfect. Although with a 50$ airless sprayer it would have been way better.

  • Holy crap that looks like shit

  • You have some ballz painting a truck black with rustoleum. It is just such a hard color. Every little imperfection shows up.

  • Did you even sand it first?

  • @BLA7IINW33D i wonder if he even washed it!

  • @duster71 Hahaha right?

  • DOOKIE................................Just sayin

  • you ruined that truck.

  • is that even considered orange peel or just the fact that you rolled on your paint?

  • This rustoleum stuff excites the hell out of me...I got a 1500 dollar car I bought used that runs well over 3 grand. I don't know too much about cars but learning...hell I know alot more about guns, planes and tanks then I do cars...but this is great. I'll do it myself if it'll save me time and the wait. I need my car for work but I'd like to get it presentable!! :)))

  • had you used a flat or satan,it would have looked 100 percent better,

  • At least your first two sentences were right,I was called a douche by davidrayneman so that is who i was directing my first post to.Also what should i be researching I already know it all.Do you understand the difference between oil and solvent based paints?

  • @davidraynewman My lazy ass restored over 55 cars to concourse standard and have been in three magazines and on the cover twice over the last 15 years check out Classic Cars and Parts Oct 2008 71 Cuda 440+6 B5 blue.Idid the entire car except rebuild engine and trnny.Rust, paint interior, top, everything ,sold for 220,000.00 Double douche

  • I like the orange peel look

  • Damn um doin this to my dually

  • haters! I think this is amazing

    good job uploader

  • Dude, a roller on a car? C'mon. This paint job has no depth. But it is funny for shits and giggles.

  • thin that paint..

  • @fuckingmakinganother honestly it looks good. but to someone who knows paint it could look better.

  • put some fuckin shoes on Fred Flintstone!

  • next time, to avoid all the orange peel, all you have to do to spray rustoleum is thin it with mineral spirits or acetone and it will come out super smooth. plus it would take way less time. Good work though!

  • Honestly it looks like crap. How can orange peel look good. Nothing against your skils but with a limited amount of money and technical know how this is what to expect.Buy a compressor and paint gun from Harbor Freight watch a few vids and you'll get light years ahead of this result.

  • @afar1 I agree. Not only do most ameteurs not have a clue, but everything they do is unsafe, a fire hazard, or a hazard to the property of neighbors. I can guarantee you the wind blew half this guys paint onto his neighbors car. After a lawsuit, it would of been cheaper to have a professional paint the car.

  • @EXP0SEtheFRAUDS You "guarantee" the wind blew paint off the roller and into the next yard? Or maybe off the truck? Were they painting in a wind tunnel?

  • @afar1 some people have to learn the hard way. been there done this didnt like it. not worth the time and effort, spraying it looks a hella lot btter (for the price)

  • Do you have an update?

  • that would take a week per panel to wetsand

  • Another idiot painting his auto with Rustoleuim.Rustoleum is an oil based paint it.s never gonna lay down flat because it full of OIL!!!!!I doubt any body shop will ever touch your cars. They cannot paint on top of this .They are gonna have such a laugh at you.Yeah go ahead and tell me your never gonna take it there and act defiant to me trying to teach you something.

  • @duster71 Once upon a time, all cars were painted either with an oil based enamel (like rustoluem) or lacquer. And, if you research this method, you will find that a rustoluem paint job can be painted over. The only mistake I see on this truck, is it looks like they needed to thin the paint more and use thinner coats. Believe me, it will lay down flat, before it flashes. Painting out of direct sunlight helps heaps too. Believe me and it will beat a rattle can paint job any day of the week.

  • Comment removed

  • @gsxrbuckeye if you knew anything you would know you cannot paint over oil base paint with a solvent based paint.

  • @duster71 Well certainly NO ONE can know as much as you. I mean obviously you are the one and only auto paint Jedi Master. That being said and without throwing insults as you choose to do, I would just simply disagree and sugest you do a tad bit of research before trashing anyone.

  • @duster71 oil based paints are solvent based paints hahahahahahahaha

  • @duster71 Oil based paint is a solvent based paint. haha

  • Good start! 50/50 thinner/paint and you should have very little to no orange peel.

  • me and a friend of mine tried doing that but instead of rolling it on i spray painted it with a decent gun. let me tell you it is a ton lot better than rolling. soooo smooth lol

  • @crazyryan I rattled mine and I agree, a ton better than rolling anyday! Check my channel for my 95 Astro job.

  • @DawgcityClev If done right, it will look way better then a rattle can. Check out my channel, you will see a good roller paint job. It's not perfect but the truck I have looks pretty damn good, without final sand and buffing. And it's plenty smooth.

  • sorry i posted that on my husbands youtube account.

  • @rustoleumpaintjob201 you're embarassing yourself... i painted 3 cars before my balls dropped... sorry

  • We are gonna do three coats.. its really turning out nice. Our only concern right now is taking the Orange peel off. We aren't professionals at all. I've heard to wet sand it with 1000 grit.. we finished the 3 coats today

  • @willdozer7 yeah wet sand at 1000 grit..two more coats, then wet sand at 1500 grit. every to coats go up 500 + grit.

  • Nice. How many coats do you plan on rolling on?
