Todd says God is the law and law is God.God is not equal to law in Holy Character.God by Jesus reveals the powerless law is moral and cannot be kept because men are flesh.Jesus Christ is perpetual Virtue not law which is moral. @angusmcpherson I should have know you'd be a KJV only sort. That explains your complete lack of understanding of Scripture. Don't you know that your "authorized" version of the Bible is from a poor Latin text with many verses having no manuscript backing for the translation given in Latin and, therefore, translated into the KJV? Ignorance abounds. I have no interest in what any Archbishop thought, I just want to know what the Scriptures say. You're great at taking verses out of context.

The Textus Receptus is Latin, as implied by the Latin title, and was written by Erasmus in the early 1500s using some Greek manuscripts and also the Vulgate for what he didn't have in Greek. There are numerous verses in the T.R. that have no Greek manuscript basis, unless you want to consider the "Greek manuscripts" that were written after the T.R.

pros ton katartismon tōn agiōn eis ergon diakonias eis oikodomēn tou sōmatos tou christou

pros ton katartismon tōn agiōn eis ergon diakonias eis oikodomēn tou sōmatos tou christou

As you can see, they are identical, and your point about manuscripts is moot when discussing Eph. 4:12.

@angusmcpherson FYI, my version is from the Codex Sinaiticus, which predates the T.R. by over 1100 yrs. It also has nothing to do with your apparently gay buddies Westcott and Hort. One should really have one's information together and be aware of what "version" someone prefers prior to jumping to conclusions and making ignorant statements. Come back when you have some real information on the subject, not just what your favorite ignorant preacher has told you.

@angusmcpherson Yes, it is a Latin name. However, it is a Latin name for an actual Greek manuscript that, as I stated, predates your beloved Textus Receptus by over 1100 years. See, the T.R. is in Latin and wasn't written until around 1520 A.D., whereas the Codex Sinaiticus is in Greek and was written around 350-370 A.D. The T.R. includes some transferring of the Vulgate because Erasmus didn't use Greek manuscripts for everything. So he used a Latin text to write a Latin text, see.

@angusmcpherson That verse is clearly a reference to those who are called into vocational preaching of the gospel, but we are all called to make disciples. Pastors are not hirelings that do your bidding. The list you refer to from Ephesians says clearly "to equip the church for works of service" is the purpose of the pastor. The gathering of believers is to worship, not evangelize. And, if that's your attitude regarding offerings, keep it because God doesn't need your guilt relieving "gift".

There was only One perfect witness, The Lord Jesus Christ. Since salvation is not subjective,ever,and fools preach Christ everyday ^ let us teach with gentleness.Because God never makes a mistake and a better preached gospel does not make necessarily a better Christian.

Everyone wants to go to heaven, but they don't want it the ONLY REAL WAY to get there. Being forgiven by Jesus' blood. becuase then THAT means, you have to repent (make a U-turn from sin, and admit to God your depraved of being good,) and trust ALONE in Jesus Christ.... No one wants this naturally.. that's why there are so many counterfeit religions.

@doireallyneed1 Adam was the first man, his son's Cain and Abel were making sacrifice to God.. well long story, but in the beginning they didn't NEED God's commands to be written down, because Adam already used to be in relationship with God, and knew what he wanted. Does that make sense?It wasn't until the day's of Noah (1000 years into existence) , when the ENTIRE WORLD except Noah, rebelled against God. He had to verbally tell him to make an ark, its all in the bible. I'll explain more later

God is not the moral by Nature but excelling Virtue which is why only Christ equal Virtue could satisfy God's Justice.Todd is a novice Christ satisfied more than law in Atonement He satisfied God's perpetual Virtue ever magnified which the law is not.
