  • what a skilled pilot

  • Amazing landing - I'm really surprised that was permitted! If you watch that "Helicopter Heroes" tv show they never do anything as sketchy as that.

  • MD500

  • top class flying and countless lives saved !... and yet , unlike police choppers , our government refuse to fund this service ! ...

  • Would it be a Rude Awakening if you was coming for your family?

  • When it's first coming in it looks like the rotor blades are going so slowly.

  • My gosh, aren't there any minimum clearances they are required to maintain? He looks to be less than 25 feet from the tree and light post behind him. That seems awfully tight. Just the same, he shows impressive skill.

  • @pdc023, You do what is required, as long as the aircraft can take it and your not going to get yourself killed. in training you will back a heli between tree's and even under a tree canopy. Tree's and light posts are no problem, the large buildings either side are the greatest threat, you would not want the one on the left much closer, not due to collision but circulation of air, reflecting of the building.

  • @1BustedMyth

yeah, probably getting a bit close to Ring Vortex State, right?

  • @44R0Ndin, yep, this landing makes me a bit nervous, a lot of aircraft get caught with these landings, most notably recently the Bin Laden opperation.

  • Let's all remember the medevac pilots and their crews, who are far from home doing a difficult job saving foreign nationals more often than troops.

  • Amazing landing! These guys really know how to fly

  • lol it takes a bloody car longer to park in that road lol,,thats some superb landing.

  • Nice.

  • My hats off to the Pilot, Now that was SMOOTH

  • Careful.....careful.....

  • i bet he never misses the toilet seat !

  • how are the rotors spinning so slow???

  • @linxtheletdown They aren't spinning slow, it's an illusion created by the interaction between the video frame rate and the spin speed of the rotors. It's also why the rotors appear to reverse direction when they slow down.

  • I was waiting for it to turn into a transformer ...

  • DUDE! those blades are really eficient! (i know the affect here, but i dont know the name)

  • That video is awesome! Nice spotter location!

  • in bed at 0930??? lazy c***!!!

  • @dunge0nmaster I just got up at 11:30 today ;)

  • A brilliant landing! Kudos to the pilot!

  • Was anyone else hypnotized by the rotor? XD

  • That's an entrance....

  • For the first 30 seconds I was wondering how the hell that thing flys when the rotors are turning that slow. silly me !!

  • Your geraniums look very healthy...

  • Amazing video and pilot! Our medical pilots here in America aren't permitted to attempt something in such close quarters. We usually land them in more open areas, like parking lots or farm fields.

  • What an amazingly skilled pilot.

  • That's just ice cold haha

  • Thumbs up for thinking 0930 is early in the morning!

  • I live right under the City hospital which have a heli pad. Even though I have lived here for 15 years I never get tired of peeking at the helicopters just meters above my house. I actually prefere to fall asleep from the sound of helicopter rotors :)

  • I flopped trying to do that in GTA... Keep hitting the lampposts and chopping the pedestrians and making more casualties.

  • nice flowers :-)

  • Now, only if someone throw a milk jug at the rotors...

  • oh its one of those bloody slow rotation blade choppers. nice

  • i didn't see him put change in the parking meter. so bullshit.

  • I completely understand the need for having an Ambulance paid for. Especially a helicopter. But having Virgin as a sponsor, and then putting his fucking name on the fucking thing is god damn ridiculous. Really dude, get the fuck over yourself.

  • Landing in a confined space like that takes not only a great deal of skill, but exact knowledge of your helicopter down to exact inch diameter of your rotor blades

  • Nice flying!

  • Good thing professional pilots make it as Air Ambulance pilots, imagine the difficulty of landing that when the downdraft is pretty much bouncing everywhere!

  • thats skill

  • This reminds me of GTA.

I wish they would make an England version.

  • @JamesParkersVideos This is not a game, where if you make a mistake you can simply start over.

  • @CatsLairArchives I am fully aware.

I was making the comparison simply because of the rarity of a helicopter landing in the street.

  • Bravo ottimo atterraggio con elicottero NO TA R

  • I like how slow the blades spin haha, must be conserving so much fuel by not having to work that hard lol

  • What kind of Helicopter is that?

  • Hell of a pilot

  • YES LOVELY VIDEO again well done ive seen your part 2 which is good as well! but those who have an interest in G-HEMS ........LIPO 90 has a good take off check it out! its very clear! once again well done 4 getting this on VID CARUTHERSM! i bet u see it flying all over london and think of this VID i posted on u tube! always be alert in london maybe the next vid you get will be entered 4 a canne FILM AWARD!

  • Look how close those blades get to the street light!

  • poor guy died bless him. there should be more air ambulances and search and rescue hellicopters, they really do good in bad circumstances. if only the goverment could be in the victims shoes and recieve their treatment to understand the need for more. And not spending money on crap noone needs.

  • was the heli donated by virgin owner?

  • dude that was one bad ass landing...that pilot has balls !

  • That pilot earned his paycheck that day! LOL

  • Great video, thanks from Russia!

  • Astonishing that it was able to put down there....wow...and what a shock to wake up to!

  • i bet that took some skill of the helicopter guy to land it in the tight road

  • Fantastic bit of video, well done! What an amazing bit of flying too!

  • resp. a verry good pilot

  • Great Video sir!

  • We just had a London Air Ambulance helicopter land outside today - it was pretty impressive. Have never seen a helicopter land or take off before at close range. Those guys are seriously skilled - amazing.

  • if you look on the web site that has the link they start saying that cyclists are the bad people, wtf? but any way, holy shit! if i could fly like that.... and nice vid. finaly some one with good camera haha

  • Slow mo?

  • The slow motion of the rotors is caused by the framerate of the camera. Each frame is the rotor at a further point but in a different rotor cycle of the last frame. So frame 1 captures the rotors at 45* in cycle 1, frame 2 captures the rotors at 46* in cycle 3, frame 3 captures the rotors at 47* in cycle 5, and so on. It's not that they are spinning slow - they are just spinning so fast, the camera doesn't take enough frames per second to capture every cycle.

  • @KooKas2oo8 thanks for explaining that.

the helicopter pilot was "crazy" good. WOW!!!

  • that is the tightest confined area landing I have EVER seen!!! Excellent piloting and thanks for sharing this video with all of us!

    Cheers,

    -Clint

  • Yeah Sorry an MD902 Explorer.

  • Tarkinfish, yeah it is a NOTAR heli. It's the MD90.

  • MD-902 Explorer

  • is that a NOTAR heli? It looks so much like the MD 530!!? It would be cool to know that we use those things here in England :D

  • sweet I wish I could see a helicopter land outside my window every once in a while. As long as people aren't getting hurt to cause it.

  • @nocarsgo23 i saw one land yesterday lol

  • ow ok lol

  • are the blades going fast or slowly thy look slow in the video lol

  • there going fast. just dont look like it

  • Yes, infact they are going so fast, the camera is unable to pick them up. What you actually see is the combination of multiple rotor cycles into one single cycle.

  • hope it dont lag in to the gtound

  • Very rude start to the morning indeed rude wake up call what happend?

  • cyclist got hit by a truck, leg crushed

  • that is some flying, but what a thing to be woken by!!!!

  • Outrageously superb post. Thanks.

  • RIP WH Smiths

  • I share ur pain YouTubed!

  • wow thats some flying ,nets glasgow

  • Talk about a rude awakening! I'd love that just outside of my house though! :P

  • We don't do to bad either here in the states. Just got to watch that the blades don't hit anything!

  • spot on!

Pilots of the British Air Ambulances are Mustard!

  • thats wat u call flyin!!! amazing

  • Great flying

Got alot of time and respect for the pilots of the UKs AAs. Most (tho not all) are ex-military!

Thumbs up! They put 'em into places you'd think they'd get all shakey about but nope... probably easy compared with a Destroyer in the middle of the north Atlantic ;0)

  • thats the slowest i have ever seen rotat blades spin

  • Its the Camera Frames, The Blades are actually spinning alot faster >_>

  • eurocopter355?

  • MD902 Explorer G-EHMS

  • Wow, that must be a very efficient rotor design if it only has to spin at about 30 revolutions per minute. We need to get that design on all helicopters soon.

  • wow you're an idiot, they rotors spin so fast that they cant be seen the same way at all cameras like in the real world because of FPS. the camera has low FPS, and only takes like... 30 photos per second and the rotors spin so fast that when the new photo is taken they have already gone another round. so it looks like they almost dont move at all.

  • You are so easily trolled, it isn't funny. Wait, yeah, it is.

  • what?

  • lmao

  • I still can't believe you fell for that.

  • Idiot

  • to what benneman07 said, ya hes right. And even if that wansnt the case think of air density. It would only be doing so little rotation b/c it was close to teh ground where the air is more thick.

  • one word: WOW! what a sight! (ok that was more)

  • thanks dude... great channel by the way :)

  • thanks, wow i wish they where allowed to fly like that in norway!

  • Yea the guy got out, sorry just getting a drink, im really thirsty!

  • the rotors? the Md902 explorer only has 1 rotor which is the main rotor. the Notar system replacies the tail rotor.

In realation to " impreassing some chick" is nonse. Do think they unlimited money to fuel the md902 explorer. its a charity not a company.

    Great Video tho.

  • Nice video. Thanks mate.

Any ideas what had happened that day?

  • Thanks! I've updated the info on the right to include a weblink to the news story :)

  • Rule 109 of the highway code clearly states that "If the area is marked with diagonal stripes and bordered by solid white lines, you should not enter it except in an emergency"

Wanting to impress some chick in the middle of London is hardly an emergency is it...

  • wow...the rotors looks as if it is just moving reallllll slow at the beginning!

  • hit enter without finishing! Nice to see it back online too!

  • very nice footage!!

  • thanks! point and shoot really, but I had such a great vantage point it turned out pretty cool :)
