After playing GG since the PS1, i found BB to be too slow in comparison to really enjoy. Seems like BB was made to pull in a demographic that isn't used to fighting games imo.

After owning both this and that title and comparing them I would have to completely disagree with IGN's reviews for both. Two very much similar games should not score so drastically different. Needs better graphic - Better graphic? The character itself is anime, but the background already does a good job. Dude, Guilty Gear is way better - Dude, every fighting games have their own fighting style. Lack of characters - They even released Relius Clover, geez. The AI is too easy - Well you can't compare Unlimit Ragna in Score Attack with I-No in the Guilty Gear Arcade final boss. Way too easy to chain combos - Isn't that a good thing? Storyline.. - Comparing to Tekken, this is better.
@flurryous2 That does suck. We can make the excuse that the Wii does a terrible job at 3D graphics compared to the PS3 and 360, hence, no SF4, SC4, or Tekken 6. But any system can do 2D graphics, so why the fuck not have a BlazBlue on Wii?
Then again, Wii + Nunchuk = Shit. Notice how they never use the Classic Controller for fighting games since it doesn't come with the Wii, yet, the CC does a better job then the Wiimote + Nunchck!

@narutofano03 it hard to say. Blazblue has a better story and good gameplay, but small character roster. If you are use to ssf4 ds then you should get mvc3 or umvc3. Mvc3 has an similar but easier gameplay than ssf4. Also has 30+ characters. It's your call. Both choices are good but keep in mind umvc3 and SFxT is coming out.
This a great game but they gave it a higher than ssf4, mk9, and mvc3. Bow I know for a fact ssf4 and mk9 are better games but blazblue is about equal to mvc3.
I appreciate the ability of the Japanese to tell a story well, but with regard to this game, I'm not as big of a fan of fighting games as I was in the early 90s during the Street Fighter era. And the negative mark this game received in lasting appeal just diminishes what ever interest I had in it.

The moves hardly ever work and even when the meter or whatever their calling it here(tagama?) dowent seem to work half the time. and the way you assign buttons is a total joke. These mistekes are so run of the mill it they shouldnt happen these days.

@PlumOrchid Calamity trigger came out first, but Continuum Shift (the second one) is far more balanced in my opinion (plus slightly better character models)
İt's a little too "flashy" for me, but that's not a necessarily bad thing. İ really like the characters and the overall style. It is pretty fun as far as i've played it. It has really unique features; like you can hit a downed opponent which i've never seen in any other 2D fighter before.

@clayw212 Well, that's how bad reviews are done. A review is first and foremost a non-biased overview of the games aesthetics, sound and all that jazz, the secondary part is the opinion, but it shouldn't really affect the score so much they'd give it a 3 or so. If the games well made in every aspect, but the player hates it and gives it a 2, does that make it right for them to give it that score? By doing that you're hurting the games sales dramatically.

@trousersnake91 IGN objective? They complained about Alice Madness and Hunted the Demons Forge Glitches and for that they have both less than 6.5.
Demon souls and Uncharted have similar glitches and both have more than 9.
Im not comparing games, but common, Ign should be equal in scoring. Blazeblue is Good but it gets boring for just having a Few fighters to choose, why Ign didnt mention it?. Simple, cause or they really love the gamet or they get good $ from the developer.
@StopForChildren maybe "totally" objective is inaccurate. but your case is comparing 2 average games that got average scores to good games with good scores. in the alice and hunted cases, glitches are an example of the problems where in uncharted theyre hinderances to an otherwise good experience

@StopForChildren I understand what you mean, I am currently playing Alice Madness Returns and I have to say the game is great. The problem with IGN is they don't rate games on the experience you get playing them like being a part of the games world and feell like you connect with it's characters when the character goes through hardships. They point out glitches often just with texture that under a certain light looks odd etc but most players don't notice or care about those.
@TheBoredomOtaku Glad you understand, get Hunted and play it with a Friend, its great if you try the Hard Difficulty, its definetly not short that way, they say it has Gears of war cover system, but actually a game called Rogue Trooper (Ps2, Pc) started that cover system in a videogame it came like 4 months before Gears, but because it didnt have that Marketing Impact most gamers dont know, i own it and its same as Gears except its T not M.

I got bored the other day so I threw the original BB onto my 360's HD.
It's cool enough, but it feels too much like a hacked Guilty Gear that someone way too into anime put together.
I like the story mode....................hate just about every single last one of the characters. Still, the fighting is good.

İt's a little too "flashy" for me, but that's not a necessarily bad thing. İ really like the characters and the overall style. It is pretty fun as far as i've played it. It has really unique features; like you can hit a downed opponent which i've never seen in any other 2D fighter before.

Its absurd to put a score to a game. Ign and a few others that review will say if its good or bad depending on how much $ they get from the Developers.

@StopForChildren I don't understand your point. A review is someone's opinion on the game. I disagree with ign reviews a lot, but they didn't even give this game a bad score. While ign may give low scores to a lot of games that i love, i don't think it's right to get on their case cause someone called a game their dream game. But you are correct, if they like a game they give it a high score, if they don't they give it a low score, that's kinda how it works. Thank you for stating the obvious.

@clayw212 Well, that's how bad reviews are done. A review is first and foremost a non-biased overview of the games aesthetics, sound and all that jazz, the secondary part is the opinion, but it shouldn't really affect the score so much they'd give it a 3 or so. If the games well made in every aspect, but the player hates it and gives it a 2, does that make it right for them to give it that score? By doing that you're hurting the games sales dramatically.

@trousersnake91 IGN objective? They complained about Alice Madness and Hunted the Demons Forge Glitches and for that they have both less than 6.5.
Demon souls and Uncharted have similar glitches and both have more than 9.
Im not comparing games, but common, Ign should be equal in scoring. Blazeblue is Good but it gets boring for just having a Few fighters to choose, why Ign didnt mention it?. Simple, cause or they really love the gamet or they get good $ from the developer.

@StopForChildren maybe "totally" objective is inaccurate. but your case is comparing 2 average games that got average scores to good games with good scores. in the alice and hunted cases, glitches are an example of the problems where in uncharted theyre hinderances to an otherwise good experience

@TheBoredomOtaku Yeah this is a Good Game, but this is the problem with IGN:
If they like the game (mostly shooters) they talk good and bad aspects and rate fair.
But if they dont like the game they point the finger more on the mistakes or glitches the game might have.
A good example is this 2 recent titles: HUNTED THE DEMONS FORGE AND ALICE MADNESS RETURNS.
Both are rated less that 6.5. just cause they have similar glitches just as DEMONS SOULS wich is a great game.
You get it?.

@StopForChildren I understand what you mean, I am currently playing Alice Madness Returns and I have to say the game is great. The problem with IGN is they don't rate games on the experience you get playing them like being a part of the games world and feell like you connect with it's characters when the character goes through hardships. They point out glitches often just with texture that under a certain light looks odd etc but most players don't notice or care about those.

@TheBoredomOtaku Glad you understand, get Hunted and play it with a Friend, its great if you try the Hard Difficulty, its definetly not short that way, they say it has Gears of war cover system, but actually a game called Rogue Trooper (Ps2, Pc) started that cover system in a videogame it came like 4 months before Gears, but because it didnt have that Marketing Impact most gamers dont know, i own it and its same as Gears except its T not M.
Anyway enjoy your Favorite Games no matter what.
