hey, ive been interested in your videos lately, and im just wondering what you meant by "social marketplace"? I want to better understand what your talking about.
The "social marketplace" is a term used to make a picture on the exchange and cost of information between individuals and agents (such as a media outlet, or government). In a way, we see information as a commodity, where the level of truth is only seen by the perception of truth; the more democratically the information is seen as a truth the less the "price" is, even if the information is untrue.
When I talk about the social marketplace, we are talking about the science on what information it holds, who holds it, how the information is exchanged, what cost the information has, how the information is altered by different agents etc.
That said, the majority rule is a big factor in calculating the percieved value of a piece of information, but that is only a small part of understanding the social marketplace.
if this ain't some nazi shit over here?.... why should we let anyone live not pleasing us?, because we are people that is why...not faulty equipment, he has a big arm and a small arm take him down right away!, well eyeeye sir, you know this is why we left the royal government in england, because of the bs beheadings, we are not evolving but devolving, or more like dissolving here we come concentration camp but idgaf...whatever
I fail to understand what you are talking about. I am pointing out how ideologies and religion can survive due to parental psychology. What are you talking about?
If these emotions are the prime reason to live, and we can't feel any one else's emotions, but our own, why should we let any one live that isn't pleaseing to ourselves? Why should we have peace if there is no point to our lives except our emotions?
Good questions of vital importance to the philosophy of existentialism.
Personally, I hold that increased knowledge and understanding of the mechanism of our existence brings the majority of individuals to realize that the safety of most people is a benefit for their own existence and therefore their own emotions. Since the individual knows that brutal treatment of others may well lead to his or hers own unsafety and even death most individuals opt to find a way for the majority to feel safe.
If we do not take others into consideration, the effect of that is negative to our existence since those others might indeed use force if they feel attacked. This is how and why our civilizations manage to exist in the first place.
I thought our civilizations were orginaly held together by the fact that it is more profitable to enslave some one, than to steal from some one, thus creating the feudal caste system that gave birth to modern civilization. You don't consider the actions of people who are clearly more powerfull than those around them.
Of course that applies. The reason why it is not a causality is because the individuals that hold(s) a position of power must take into account the largest groups(s) else risk what have happened many times, that the "weak" destroys the "strong". It has to do with numbers, as explained in my other videos. There is no single explanatory models for sociological structures. Also, keep in mind that more then 80% of our brains deal with social communication. Group position is only a small part.
so if the function that helped us as people to evolve was greed, hatred and segregation. then we only help those functions to evolve as well? manifesting a darker future with every minute towards it?...shit. then those functions must not only survive but evolve as well becoming harder to detect just as viral infections do and therefore far more dangerous than ever before.
In theory, yes. Sadly so. We need a cognitive reneasance and a new cognitive evolution. I am unsure how that should be done, but focus should be put on education and strong reform on values. If it can be done now, I do not know.
Emotions are fanciful interpretations of natural chemical processes. Any imaginary meaning we attach to them is nothing more than the stuff of fairy stories and flying spaghetti monsters.
One day the more enlightened among us will abandoned these silly interpretations for reason.
Yes, but emotions holds the reason for survival. Without them we would all die in a matter of days as we would not feel hunger. Are you talking about mechanic existence, and why would that be pleasing or interesting in any way?
Hey, I am doing a series on a subject that may touch this topic, may I use your ideas as part of another objective opinion in my series? I will give you credits and your personal inspirations for this piece. Would that be cool? I ask before I take Ideas and I am having fun with my project and want to incorporate YouTubers thoughts and original pieces, assuming I might use them, of course.
Yes, you may do as you please. If you misinterpret me I will of course say so in the comments, but thats pretty much all. Ideas are for sharing. Especially science.
I will send scripts and my intentions of course. Credits and inspiration is a must. It won't be for a lil while, I have 7 scripts to write and a trip to the library. Thank god I am keeping everything written. To address misconseptions. 10 minute 100 mg minimum is hard to work with in the editing room. LOL
Oooo, I have scarred alot of pages with that word. Self righteous should be equivalent too. I have some respect to anyone who can show so much conviction to a focus something... orthodox I cannot perceive here in the US, no event except the Mormons' claim. (Reformmed church/OrthoDox order)
OOPS! I am corrected, There are alot of Orthodox Jews in Hollywood. They have whole blocks where they walk around, rather interesting to see someone so dedicated to something. From a objective view of course.
Thanks for posting! I would like to add.. peace is dead.. the word never had any merit to it. Tolerance is the only way to come close to that word, peace. IMO
oh, I agree, peace is not something you archive by randomly yelling for it. Peace is a state of non-violence. I want physical peace. I don't want mental peace. I want mental conflict, since I enjoy my own personal evolution. Hippie? Me?!?! ;))
I can't even feature or picture mental peace, that leads to arguments and we are justtoo infantile as a whole to deal with arguments as peaceful. IMO we can only tolerate eachother and acccept the fact that personal space is a must but sometimes we need to step aside and allow the stubborn to have right of way, no matter what one thinks about it. (losing the pride that is killing us)
I think this is a good video, but I wonder if the concept of dividing emotions into good and bad isn't the same mistake western society has made for a long time. In a way I think it makes us less able to deal with these emotions when they arise, and until we live in utopia we must respect their existence, and that even hatred is part of what it means to be human.
Agreed. My video only tried to make people aware of the existence of the term "marketplace" in sociology, so people might ad this notion to their thinking. Hatred and anger may be good emotions even, but if we are aware of the emotional mechanics we may control certain conversations in our favor.
I was gonna say I think you meant "Through" instead of "Trough". It's a hard word for everybody. I never make mistaces. I don't know what a Gnostic is, and I ain't joining. What about the OutCasts? The people that we percieve as too odd or distant? Like an arab for example. Or a queer, or a suspected wife beater? I agree The Law Of Numbers, pretty much. Is there Love? Is there hate? Pretty much empty bellies. Time after time.
Interesting conclusion. I do not argue evolution in my videos. I never will. I study evolution and have never been challenged with real evidence for the existence of god, of the supernatural, or arguments against evolution. All arguments against evolution are refuted.
But you are entitled, of course, to your conclusion. But in order for your arguments to be of interest I would ask that you study evolution for 3-5 years in an university. I study religion to, at university.
Well, Islams fundamental psychological feature is parental psychology; the need for a "parent" in personal truthseeking. I will make a video on the subject shortly. In any case, a world without religion will drastically reduce, but not eliminate hatred. And that is a reason in itself to remove religion.
Hi GnosticAtheist, I am enjoying your intelligent videos very much. Just last night I wrote to a friend on how the problem with Islam is it entire premise is driven by hatred. But love it is love that created society by allowing us to work cooperatively through good will. It is our love for our families, ourselves and our way of life, that makes us work together. Hopefully one day in peace.
thank you for share part of you knowledge and put it on video
