When I was 12 I made an 8mm film - I remember using a cutter and film glue to edit it. I am sure you have checked out the films of Ingmar Bergman, Right?
Chess anyone? My YouTube parodies are my first media experiments since then
Thank you! I've used 16 mm before, and had major exposure issues. But those were all experiments and tests. This is the first seriously made work using that technology.
Honestly, I prefer working with digital, too. It's much more practical. But there's nothing like working with real, tangible film. It's such a mechanical process, and it teaches you about filmmaking in any form and makes you appreciate it even more.
I actually didn't have to work with linear, old-fashioned editing (although it was an option). I transferred the film to mini DV tape and edited digitally. But I do want more experience in editing by hand.

Wow, you got some fantastic exposures and shots in here! Really impressive for your first use of a 16 mm camera, for sure!
