  • This is wonderful, you're very good at this, it's a pleasure to watch

  • Tai qi Helps in a big way to rebuild Muscles and not just muscles, but allover self.

Remember that stress makes you fat, thus no stress makes you slim down.

Tai qi is the best at reducing stress.

  • his body is perfect

  • Dont bend your knee over your toetips (in archers stance (gong bu). Maximum on a vertical line nearly to it.

Keep your upper body in the archer`s stance (gong bu) upright. good though

  • Nice video, I really enjoy it.

  • muy buena forma gracias por el video

  • Thanks for a bit of a refreshed on the 24 form. It's been a while since I had last done tai qi and I had forgotten a few of the steps. Having watched this, I remember the intricate movements now and can do it once again. Thanks. And the music was a great addition to the video.

  • This is relaxing music it just puts me at the ocean looking at the water and waves crashing against the sand ;8)

  • Libérate::.. haz que tu vida comience de nuevo cada día::..

  • beautiful video,i live in NH soon to move back to new york.i long to do my prayers&give honour to my firm transformation into taoism.i have researched for many nights but canot find any temples in which to go to.can you help me or give me any leads to find my way to any temple, please this is very important to me!!!!

  • @leihebert Hi, i'm not sure but i'm pretty certain that when people wants to give honour and to do their prayers, then a temple is not obligatory.

You can do your prayers and give honour, from anywhere/anyplace you choose to.

(The temple is in your heart)

  • I'm just now starting to learn 24. This should help alot. Thanks much!

  • Nice flow :)

  • Beautiful song. "Oliver Shanti & Friends - Macao Kyoto" :)

  • lol I've been in Hundested- Denmark :) wut a small world :)

  • tai chi is flipppin hard .>>>>needs alot of trainning

  • All the things in this world are permanent, We must awaken and find out own path to enlightenment....Awaken!

  • Beautifull man,

Tell me, where have you found this awesome music?

  • evrything is beautiful in this vid, ty for sharing- good day

  • any form of tai chiit does more than anyone will ever know

  • Everything in existence forms around an energy matrix. In our bodies, the matrix forms the lines of force known as Ki, or Chi. Especially in Western civilization where we tend to lean toward the material rather than the spiritual, we often ignore this framework and this has a direct effect on the material body through which we experience this level of existance. Tai Chi brings the lines of force or Ki/Chi back into balance which, in turn, realigns the physical body.

  • @HarjyotSohalYou pose a fair question. Any long sequence that has been abbreviated loses the total value of that sequence. The adepts that formulated a sequence did so for various martial applications and health benefits. Learn from someone who can articulate what each posture contains and ask questions-lots of questions and don't take the answers at face value. Listen and research on your own. Beware...There are a lot of people claiming to be instructors but don't know much more than you.

  • not to be mean but what does the tai chi 24 do?

  • @HarjyotSohal The same as other kinds of tai chi do. Its good both physically and mentally, in many ways, which would take me to long time to describe here. Plus there are countless writings to be found on the internet about it.

It can also be used for self-defence, but that requires the proper way of training it. One would of course have to train realistic fighting situations, along with technical application training.

Besides that you can also use the principles in many other aspects of life.

  • sehr schön (:

  • man i dont know what it is but theres something about this video that bombards me with mixed emotions, for some reason i feel like crying.

  • @Gza36Chambers

It resonates with your higher self and brings you closer to who you really are.

  • @Gza36Chambers hey man, heres a good advice: don't think when u hear these kind of music, just clean your mind and flow with the music.. breath in... breath out...

    peace

  • @BakMau makes me tired good before bed .peace, honour and respect that is my code never to attack only defend and have respect for others

  • @disturbedman360 there will also b times where the attack is better than the defense :) hahaha wut about those who disrespect you, your family, or friends? wut would u do?

100% I can't respect a human if it does not deserve it, how about you?

  • @BakMau there will be thats why we must learn to forgive all martail arts are for defence never to attack or to get vengemce learn to let it go they are just a child inside who want nothing more than is your reaction. because if you cause him pain you are just really hurting your self

  • @disturbedman360 lol revenge is soooo sweeeeet, I can put it nxt to the pussies. besides I rather shoot another man and I'm not gonna be the one who feels the bullets.

if he causes me pain, then I'm gonna kill him, so he can feel the death..

everything u typed, I'm almost agreed with that, but remember no matter wut u do, there are allways people who dislikes you- ying and yang concept

  • @BakMau you shoot you get in trouble you are not a pussie if you walk away you're a man if you walk away there are always people who wants to start shit do not attack until he throws a punch or pulls out a weapon always use the force that is nessisary to stop them nothing more the more unnessiary damage you do the more you'll look a guilty a he is the best defence is staying away from those kinds of people if they do confront you stay calm and talk nicely then if nessiary run away

  • @disturbedman360 see, I agree with u once more :)

    1- avoid

    2- walk/run away

3- kill it- if not it will come back for you

I've reached only nr 2- nr 3 is waiting hehe, u seem like a good man, pls accept my friend invitation, talk to u later man and goodluck

  • @BakMau do not kill the would be murder only injure him he won't come back he'll leave you alone he'll see and advoid you. i'm in taekwondo ictf style i use it to be strong for others and my country i do not like to fight to hurt people i'll fight if i need to and if i see someone in danger i will show mercy and understanding there are three words i would like you to learn and understand vi ar en (swedish for we are one) i have no set religond we have much to talk about talk later

  • el chico sabe mucho tendra ke ser un mastro

  • beautifull and relaxing music... thanks AZIR for give me this page web...!! ANd happy birthday son... i love you... in ALLAH U AKBAR!! ami aisha!!

  • Very nicely done with beautiful music

Thank you for posting this video

  • ...How I like this mood...

  • nice

  • such fantastic control!

    beautiful movement

  • Hi, I would like to learn Tai Chi, but have not found a simple to follow video. Do you have any suggestions?

  • @MrCarlos863 Hi. First, i wouldnt recommend learning taiji solely from a video. It would be best to learn the basics properly, under supervision. When the basics are thoroughly learned/adapted. Then it is okay to proceed solely with video. :-)

But if you have no other options, you might find some good instructional videos here on youtube, (I don't personally know any)

Another solution is to find/buy instructional DVD's on the internet.

    Good luck :-)

  • Hi Skytte71,

I am teaching Chen style. I am working on another Yang style class. I like your work very much. It totally match with the music and the space. That's awesome !

  • @andydoankhang84 Hi, thank you.

I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but i noticed that your name has the word "Ankh" in it.

The Egyptian hieroglyph symbol for Ankh means "Life" as in "Eternal life", and the word Ankh means "Key". It is therefor called "Key of life".

  • nice just to go of in another world and chill out :) peace at last ;)

  • Hi skyte71,

I enjoyed to watch this video, you doing your form exercises. I give you my thougts:Maybe your flow of movement will develop if you give more awareness to the specific supporting quality of the area. get a feeling for that. check out if the ground realy carries you ( feel, not know ). try to send your weight a bit more to your heels.integrate your lower and middle spine in the alignment that connects you with center of earth. the smoothness comes out of the centering.

  • its time to post my tai chi 24. thanks for yours

  • good flow to your form. Good comment responses as well. Is that in Denmark?

  • Thank you :-)

    Yep, "Hundested" Beach, Denmark.

  • what's your style ? Yang or cheng ? i practise cheng,with low and difficulty position...but very healthy...believe me..=)

  • My background is Yang. (Tung family Tai Chi Chuan)

This 24 form is based on Yang. Devised in the early 1950´s, as an introduction to the art, and can be seen as a stepping stone for those wishing to pursue more difficult and strenuous routines.

During the 1980s the 42 form. The International Combined Competition Routine appeared. Embracing elements of four major styles i.e. Chen, Yang, Wu and Sun. Mainly based in the Yang Style and exhibiting a veneer of the Chen, Wu and Sun Style.

  • @skytte71 im completely new to T'ai Chi, ive only learned one form online so far, so could you tell me what Yang and Chen is?

  • @410Alfa Hi. First, i wouldnt recommend learning taiji solely from a video. It would be best to learn the basics properly, under supervision. When the basics are thoroughly learned/adapted. Then it is okay to proceed solely with video. :-)

In short: Chen is the oldest form of Taiji. Yang is the most "popular", because it is easier to perform.

Yang Lu-Chan learned it from the Chen family. He simplified it, and removed some of the more hard/difficult routines.

    (continued - 1 of 2)

  • @skytte71 So "Chen / Yang" indicates the family names of which the taiji branches derived from.

Try see some videos of Yang / Chen taiji, and you will clearly see the differences. (and of course the similarities also)

If you google it, you can find much more info about it.

    Good luck with it :-)

    (2 of 2)

  • @skytte71

thanks for the info. im 14 and my parents are strict, so im sure that they would disapporove of my studies of T'ai Chi and wouldn't pay for my learning. so that's unfortunate for me :(

  • @410Alfa Your welcome. :-)

Okay, then i would advice you to read about the principles of Taiji, especially regarding correct postures/stances. Also watch some videos where the postures/stances are explained. You would be amazed of how many details there actually are.

There are details regarding when to shift your weight forward/backwards, and when to turn the torso. which angles your body, feets and arms should be in, and at specific points. etc.

    (Continued - A)

  • @skytte71 Despite the many details, its also important to do it naturally. Relax in your body, shoulders and elbows. Beware of over-extending your knees. (In certain positions if one hang a pendulum by the knees, the pendulum should "hoover" over the toes.)

Try not to rush the progress. The path is more important then the destination. Its better to know the basics properly, and only a couple of moves. Then to know a hole form, and have a poor foundation.

Again, good luck with it. :-)

    (B)

  • what´s the name of the song?

  • hehe search and you will find.

Clue: The path of enlightenment can be found at time-frame: 0:02

  • this is a great comment. took me a long time to realise the importance of it.

  • FInally, Tai Chi performed by a hunk instead of old men in blouses!

*runs away in panic from old men in blouses*

It takes a bit of leg strength to do tai chi, something people don't realize, until they see someone doing it in shorts... LOL!

  • LOL That is good humor. hehe

  • @ Plautus123

Life is what we make of it.

The more, we understand to appreciate life/things, (even with its flaws). The more joy, will life give us.

Whether things are wasteful or not, depends on what we want with it.

Please grow some insight to life. So that you can meet the world, as the world is.

And not, as you want it to be.

Otherwise it would, or could be such a shame, to see a life, like yours... Go to "waste". (some would, or could say) ;-)

  • "Plautus123's" comment aren't visible no more.

(Because of the "thumbs down/poor comment" has reached 6 votes.)

While i like the "thumb vote" system. I don't like that the comments are "removed" after 6 votes.

    So here's a copy of "Plautus123's" comment.:

""What a boring and wasteful hobby""

  • so is going to work but you do it every day

  • despues de ver a los campeones se ve una gran diferencia

  • Well of course, there's a big difference between my performance (which is with "only" 2 ½ years training-experience).

Compared to the performance of a master, that has many more years of training. ;-)

Besides from that. In some aspects, it can be difficult to compare the performance, when the forms are as different, as the "24 tai chi form", and the "Wudang Kung Fu Tai Chi Quan 28 Form"

    (1 out of 2)

  • (In your channel, i can see that you have recently commented on the "wudang 28 form".

so my guess is, that your comparison is based on those two forms...? Am i correct?)

    (2 out of 2)

  • I didnt.. but that's .. or really funny or really impressive.

  • thanks for posting

  • this is a good way to feel your chi, for people who question it and dont know about it. i used to think it was all bs, til i started learning tai chi. my sifu told me about it, i was still skeptic. now i have no doubt that its real, and will continue to learn how to focus it.

  • Very nice. I always avoided watching this video, I don't know why, but now I'm happy that I did. Good luck! Keep enjoying Tai Chi!

  • Thank you. That was very sweet of you.

Your comment made me smile, and gave me a warm feeling inside.

Good luck to you too. :-)

  • Beautiful music.

Peace from all at 'blue dot'

  • beautiful music..and background..performance is good but needs to improve on the timings..sometimes fast nd sometimes slow,,,nd pls concentrate on the postures..be calm,,,nd be in the moment..nd then experience the feeling

  • Even if there're mistakes, i like the performance :)

    Sry for my english.

  • Hi, what is the name of this Song??

  • What is the name of the song?

  • macao kyoto

  • Sorry but this performance is very bad... Many mistakes...

  • this performance is very good,

tai chi is formless even that there are forms for it..you must find your own path and form...begone!

  • Would youlike to point out the mistakes you've been discovered?...Thank You.

  • be calm, slowly movement, i practise shaolin and tai chi, it's my life !! my calm my power...my compliment continue improve your calm and your practise, you are good i see...remembre, in harmony with your body and mind and with the other people around you...

  • amazing bro. im starting Wing Chun next week, i hope the style is similar, cuz that looks great. respect

  • Where can i download this cind of music?

  • Amazing. Perfect choice of music and location. What Bugger said about Tai Chi being used for the health benifits is very true. I recently started learning Tai Chi and it has helped me focus my Chi greatly. My Kung Fu as improved because of it, too. I reccomend Tai Chi to any martial artist. Once again, great video!

  • I hope someday i will meet a friend who is willing to impart the knowledge of tai chi on me.... im really willing to learn but i dont know where to find a teacher...

  • When the student is ready the master will appear. Lao Tsu

  • excelent

I'm learning that in Austria and do this at work if I have time in the park

  • The Tai Chi 24 forms was perfectly executed.

At the end though you didn't pay respects to your audience but I'm sure you do nowadays.

    Well done!

  • Thanks

hehe yes, i forgot to do the "salute" ;-)

  • tai chi is the water style in avatar

  • hey ppl, go to my channel and make a question, it will be answered ;)

    ANY!! ANY!! Question ;)

  • Good morning, I have two accounts for acidente.Nao I'm being ironic, please do not think so, and do not have a thread of evil in my words acredite.Muitas often expose an opinion does not get the value of things or persons, if by chance this happened when I made my comment, sorry, and we will continue our roads.

My problem with the English, comes from the fact I was not speaking English, if you speak or write in Portuguese or Italian, we can communicate better ... Déborah

  • i dont get it.you hear stories about how good these tai chi fighters are.but still i havent seen a SINGLE video of them using there skills in real combat.for what do they train then?

  • (I cant link you cause of youtube comment-filter)

if you go on google and search for "Mind, body & kickass moves" (its a show) and look at the wikipedia page under Episode one, it mentions one tai chi martial art style - and a martial arts master :)

  • chechen - /watch?v=hkyq9FljlG8

That vid is a good start. In order for tai chi to be effective, the user has to be able to get his hands onto his attacker. So i admit, sucker-punch a tai chi user and it'll be all over. However at my school, we are trained to portray a facade of disarmament. Appear as though we don't want to fight, only to get in close enough to start the fight on our own terms. Sometimes itll work, sometimes you'll end up spitting out your teeth. Fighting is unpredictable

  • And where the 'martial' element of tai chi fails, it is more than compensated by the health benefits. people say it, but i didn't realise how bad my posture was, nor how 'up-tight' i was before doing this. In the first few weeks, my sifu told me to relax, and i tried and tried, but couldn't relax my muscles the way i was supposed to. That really opened my eyes as to what a highly strung lifestyle we lead in the west, and just how important it is to learn to unwind.

  • Tai Chi itself is not a "combat" martial art.

If you learned some Tai Chi though you would understand the health and strengthening benefits from it though.

Martial artists normally use Tai Chi for these benefits and study another martial art for self-defense purposes.

Tai Chi can be thought of as a dance if you want to be blunt.

  • TaiChi itself is not a "combat" martial art.

That is utter rubbish, Taichi or Taiji is a devastating martial art, and translated means "supreme ultimate fist or supreme ultimate hand" a name given to the practitioners by those on the receiving end because they had no way to counter it.

Sadly the Beijing 24/48 step is a travesty of the original form which has over 300 postures. Even Cheng Fu's form has 108 postures.

  • go see her vidios can't comment, because she doesn't want people say she sucks.

  • thank you for your immense professional ...

    We feel very different ...

But good luck in your journey ..

  • beautiful music and nice video thank you

  • I'm learning Pa-Kua right now, which incorporates tai-chi as well. Bty way were can I pick up a copy of the music and if not what is it so I can look for it?

  • Album: Tai Chi - Track: Macao Kyoto

    Artist: Oliver Shanti & Friends

    ;-)

  • Much thanks :).

  • very beautiful

  • Hey, nice form. I wonder, do you learn Applications too?

  • Well... (a question not easily answered) :-)

My Danish instructor in yang Tai Chi, had very little knowledge about applications. So on occasions, he actually asked me about the possible applications to the Tai Chi movements, which i could see, and figure out myself.

I had a long history, of training other martial arts, mostly Gong fu, and therefor knew of applications already, before i took on Tai Chi.

    To be continued (1)

  • Well to be correct my Danish Yang Tai Chi instructor, knew of different San Shou drills, (push hands) So we were taught some applications therefrom.

I was taught the 24 form, and 42 form, in China. And there they didn't teach us the applications either.

    (2)

  • So the only "real" lectures i have received in Tai Chi applications, was from a couple of Tai Chi seminars, with a Tai Chi style called: Practical Tai Chi Chuan, also referred to as: Wudang Tai Chi Chuan. And they emphasize a lot on applications.

    (3)

  • Huh. I wonder, who were the Wudang seminars given by? where were they?

  • By Torben Rif. Chief Instructor of Wudang Tai Chi Chuan, here in Denmark. The seminars where held at different locations.

    Their web: w w w taichiskole dk

  • loved the song .. the form i didnt see ...

    sorry

  • nice job

    this song is amazing too

  • Comment removed

  • i found the song on rhapsody under oliver shanti. it's from the album best of oliver shanti and friends:circles of life.

  • can someone tell me what to search on limewired to get this song or the name of song and CD so i can buy it?

  • If you read carefully at 0:02 of this clip you would have seen it said: Music "Macao Kyoto" By Oliver Shanti & Friends.

  • your right, but! searched that on limewire and couldnt find the song... Thanks for trying to help though.

  • this is the type of music thats good to listen while sleeping... relax your brain and sleep peacefully.......

  • Hi,if you look for beautiful music google for Tony O'Connor (Australian Musician) - I heard similar tunes on his tracks-you also find videos from him on youtube enjoy :)

  • ilike oriental to ijust search oliver shanti or tai chi music

  • Very beautiful track, anybody know where I can find more of this or similar music (I'm a strong admirer of oriental music and this is a very good mix)

  • Hi there'a anyone who know the music or harmony or accord about this wonderful music?

    Thjanks 4 all.

  • beautiful

  • WOW ... that music is amazing!!!

  • beautiful music but a lot sleeping...

the person that made tai chi is very calm but he has to improve her tai chi...YANG STYLE...very simple to made, but very difficult memorization...

  • I feel like if I were lying on a floor full of wild flowers and green pasture, being alone and little drops of water falling over my face

  • Beautiful!

  • es musica muy relajante

  • I love the music. It looked easier than I thought. It seems most videos have trouble teaching how to do Tai Chi. I think I feel motivated enough to give it another chance. At least, to try to achieve the 24 form.

  • this tai chi song makes me so sad i can cry but its makes me happy and free too

  • very cool, i hope someday i can be that great in tai chi. peace

  • I really like the music =D. Can u tell me the name of that beutiful music piece?

  • The Music piece is: Macao Kyoto. From the album: Tai Chi, by Oliver Shanti & Friends.

  • Exquisite.

  • really, really cool vid.

u are good at it :-) and the best music, Oliver Shanti <3 :-)

  • la ce mare este filmat? Eu as prefera doar sa ascult

  • That's looking very good, why didn't you do it in some sort of traditional tai chi clothes, it could've added a antique tone =)

p.s: the music is really calming, thnx

  • the music is good...which cd is that one.

  • disculpen mi ingnorancia que es tai chi es como karate y meditacion al mismo tiempo? o que significa gracias y otraves disculpen mi ingnirancia pero quisiera saber que es

  • Yes! In some ways, you can compare Tai Chi, with a combination of karate and meditation.

Except, for the great differences between karate and Tai Chi, both in the physical movements, and the philosophy behind the martial art / self defence.

I hope that my answer, to your question makes sense to you...

Because i have used "google translate", to interpret you comment. :-P

And i have also, translated my english reply to you, into spanish. LOL

    (1)

LOL

    (2)

  • hahahahah =D

  • i like it

  • wonderful in combination with the music.

  • i must say Tai Chi is a beautiful art. The slow soft movement do show the true essence of Martial art. Great vid mate.

  • genuss in höchster vollendung- ist reggae schon geil, aber die asiatische musik in verbindung mit diesen schönen, fliessenden bewegungen ist einfach nur genial.

  • das ist echt schön

  • anyone know where i can find a free version of this song to download?

  • Especially during the transition, yi is lagging the body hence chi does not flow as smooth as it should be. Yi should evolve as complete as it can, coming in and going out the physical body and interact with surroundings as it is part of the mother nature and the universe, hence feeling self becoming as transparent as the air ......

  • Hi discus2007 :-)

Thanks for your wise/poetic advice. i can relate to it, and i sometimes sense/feel what you refer to, when i do Tai Chi. (and other "activities", for that matter)

One could say that, you should be letting go, of the form itself, and let the movements flow free from you/itself. Almost as if the movements come to you, on a inspirational level. Thus becoming, "One with it". ;-)

And the transitions during the form, from start to end, being as if it where only one movement.

  • The video (24
