@Valkryee The horse wasn't running. It was approaching the dog in a very respectful way. I.e. lowering it's head when walking walking towards it. When the dog didn't take the hint (because dogs don't speak horse) Then the horse tried to correct him.

This is so irresponsible. Both dog and horse could be seriously injurred. I've seen horses torn up from being chased through a fence and have known dogs who have lost the use of their legs from being kicked.

Jack Russels are tenacious little buggers. A bight to the fetlock or the cannon bone could do considerable damage to ligaments if not to the bone itself. You might not consider it savaging but the damage is not always repairable.
