i feel bad for both. the horse was annoyed and the dog got kicked, but seriously thats one dumb dog. no offense. one kick in the head is all it takes...
There is no horse that is going to be chased through the fence by a dog. A horse could tear a dog apart. If you have a horse, that would rather run through a fence, than kick at a dog. You have a poorly trained horse that has 0 respect for fences. If a horse is scared of something, it should have learned to stand still, rather than run from it. It's possible to teach horses to refrain from their natural instinct to run when frightened. I train horses everyday, and teach them to spook in place.
@Valkryee The horse wasn't running. It was approaching the dog in a very respectful way. I.e. lowering it's head when walking walking towards it. When the dog didn't take the hint (because dogs don't speak horse) Then the horse tried to correct him.
This is so irresponsible. Both dog and horse could be seriously injurred. I've seen horses torn up from being chased through a fence and have known dogs who have lost the use of their legs from being kicked.
Jack Russels are tenacious little buggers. A bight to the fetlock or the cannon bone could do considerable damage to ligaments if not to the bone itself. You might not consider it savaging but the damage is not always repairable.
Just because you're ignorant doesn't give you the right to be irresponsible. Leash your pet.
Why the hell can't people keep their dogs under control? People buy small dogs thinking they won't need training because they're too small to cause damage when in fact small dogs seem to be the bloody worst.
haha you're stupid. Every farm/barn is going to have dogs, and thats' a jack russle TERRIER thats that they were bred for. You can't scold a dog because of that. And he could easitly outrun that horse.
What are we supposed to do? It was at a winery in California. Run into the the owner of the vineyards horse corral and rescue the dog who has been eating horse turds all day while he licks my face.
Okay, that dog would have gotten killed if that pony actually made contact..why didn't someone go get the dog before it's too late? People are morons.
serves the stupid mongrel right.

Shows how much you know. The horse is taking it well but it's still really dumb to let your dog do.

JRT have smaller legs, and could dodge him. Also, their small legs move fast. In a long run no way, but to the fence, deffinatly.
