The problems with ethanol from corn based sources is that corn is a very nitrate heavy crop to grow, the ammonia used in the fertilizers creates more greenhouse gasses than burning it as fuel saves. But with Climategate finally putting a nail in the coffin of of AGW, other than national security, all it serves to do is increase global food prices and extend the 7000 sq mile dead zone in the gulf of mexico from excess nitrates hurling down the mississippi river. Food for fuel is not smart.
