  • I'm guessing the four candles/fork handles thing is from an old bit/sketch/show or something?

  • @artvandelay13 Four Candles is an iconic sketch from the Two Ronnies. Corbett plays a shopkeeper who has to deal with a customer who's request for simple items becomes a hell of a task,

  • is it just me or is holly pretty attractive

  • ronnie is so game, and can really laugh at himself. whata nice man

  • "Because he had no hands" fucking hilarious

  • 4 CANDLES

  • @Killingglorie

    No. He meant FORK Handles.

  • I love Rob's impression of Ronnie. I had the screen minimized when he said 'I've never felt the need to do an impression of Rob' and I genuinely thought Ronnie said it until I opened the window again xD great job

  • Awww... Lee's whole team wanting so much for the four candles thing to be true...

  • 05:53

How smug does David look right there. Lol!

  • "four candles or fork handles?"

  • "You must do it quickly or you'll go the way of the other buckets." I laughed so hard at this :D

  • love holly walsh

  • David looks so proud of his driver!

  • Stephen, it's not what it looks like!

  • I've just noticed at the end Ronnie offers David his hand to shake. That's adorable.

  • What a dire episode.

  • does Ronnie remind anyone else of a koala bear or is that just me?

  • @PsychoPirate1166 He reminds me of the old guy in "Up!"...

  • That was a great Ronnie episode

  • @megabyteme64 I find her sexy 'csz' she's really sexy.

  • u cant play Diplomacy with just a boy and 1 friend

  • I want to see the romantic comedy with David and the two Stephen Tatlocks

  • Was it four candles or fork handles?

  • FOURKHANDELS!

  • @Raventoll it's a bit that Ronny did in the 70s

  • I think I'm missing the four candles thing. I know they sound alike, but everyone seems to really ride Ronny on that. I laughed so hard I had a coughing fit, but was that part of his act?

  • @Raventoll youtube video: qu9MptWyCB8 of the 4 candles video.

  • @MyJk552 Thanks... that was one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. I'm glad I watched a lot of British TV on YouTube before seeing that or I wouldn't have gotten the accent jokes.

  • 5:48 David's smug look is so wonderful

  • That split-second shot of David's grin when Paul reveals his identity has got to be the most concentrated blast of pure, unadulterated Smug I've ever seen.

    Awesome. Truly Awesome.

By the way, as an American living in Vietnam, thanks to Mrmoody for providing me with the only source of good TV I can access--this in particular, as it's the funniest show I've seen since Arrested Development.

  • @MrBrachiatingApe American in vietnam? Havent you done enough damage already?

  • @S1CKDRIFT3R Wanker.

  • @S1CKDRIFT3R perhaps you should stop trying to be funny.

  • @Frost252frost252 That wasn't a joke, jackass.

  • @S1CKDRIFT3R Internet keyboard warrior? Haven't you wasted enough peoples' time?

  • @MrBrachiatingApe Internet keyboard warrior? Awww thanks! Thats the nicest thing anyones ever said to me!

  • Haha I love when Lee say's she's his kind of lady, David's "OH GOD" was perfect. Sent me over the edge. Julian has a very calm and soothing voice and demeanor. Very attractive.

  • Aw david looked so smug when rob announced the guest was his driver.

  • Buckets and Diplomacy? Nah. Pretty much the worst board game to pick.

"main distinctions from most board wargames are its negotiation phases (players spend much of their time forming and betraying alliances with other players) and the absence of dice or other elements that produce random effects. Set in Europe just before the beginning of World War I, Diplomacy is played by two to seven players, each controlling the armed forces of a major European Power."

    Fantastic game though.

  • Oh god , Dave's bucket friend story and Lee's girlfriend joke ... my face hurts.

  • When Lee made the tiny hand/cock joke and you hear David saying "oh my god!" behind everyone else laughing, LOL.

  • that was epic with david! i was actaully dissapointed when he said he was a lie.

  • Aaw, poor Rob, his impressions are good, why wouldn't you do them every single week more than once. :P

  • Highest rated comments + curiosity = Biggest cause of spoiling videos

  • ''Alright I can't do the voice, and if I could I wouldn't keep doing it'' --- FINALLY! make him stop with the impressions.

  • haha, ah the ole four candles joke, ronnie's a comedy legend!

  • @lynottlives Please explain the four candles joke to an ignorant Canadian...

  • @Gilari four candles said in ronnie's accent sounds like 'fork handles'. Ronnie was in a duo called the two ronnies years ago and it's probably their most famous skit. If you type in four candles into youtube i'm sure you'l find it :)

  • @lynottlives Thanks I will!

  • David's smile is always so smug, I've never seen him lose an argument.

  • BAHAHAHA.. david looks so proud when lee finds out paul belongs to him. so cute, i love david mitchell!

  • As the most natural thing in the world, David concedes that the bucket obviously sometimes beat him... So even in pretend-land he wouldn't claim to be consistently superior to his imaginary bucket friend. Seems quite modest.

  • I know there's already been a small war over similar comments here - so I kind of apologise in advance - but mother of GOD I would break Holly Walsh in two if she'd let me.

  • @Worriedandconfused um... is that your way of saying you fancy her?

  • @fowad27 Yes, that I would quite like to fuck her. I'm sure she's intelligent and lovely and talented and funny, but it was quite distracting throughout the episode, is all.

  • @Worriedandconfused Was thinking the same thing myself. Bet she's a goer!

  • @Worriedandconfused I'd ruin her. She'd be ruined.

  • Sarah has a wonderful laugh

  • LOL @ the four candles joke, or fork handles? Lol

  • When Sarah said the boy couldnt reach with his arms so put his head in the box, what made the boy think he could reach with his head lmao.

Although that story wasnt true just thought to point it out.

  • Sadly, this was of course Boris Dickey's first and last appearance on the show.

  • Can someone explain the 4 candles part? What's the link between the sweet little old man and candles? I suppose it's a past show of him or movie scene or something? What was the name?

  • @SuperGoldenPony Look up 'the two ronnies fork handles' on YouTube, it's a comedy sketch he did once that is very well-known in the UK

  • @chrstphrw Thanks :)

  • I find Bryndon too smug and cocky but his impersonations make me giggle non stop.

  • Lee is fucking brilliant!

  • Is this the first time David's had his own 'this is my...?'

  • 1:29 steeeeee-rike one!

  • This is the first time of all the shows that the guest has belonged to one of the tam captains!

  • @Hozzas Oh, no, there was one time when the guest belonged to Lee Mack- don't remember the episode, but basically he was teaching him how to juggle. Quite sweet, really: Lee was learning to make his son proud.

...Sorry if I made any mistake ç_ç

  • @13Sonne Aah you're right, I remember that episode! Thanks, I probably should of checked before I posted :')

  • My imaginary friend had a surname. He was Rodney Rodd. I wish I were lying, but I'm not.

  • i simply cannot picture him going into a store asking for four candles without them coming back with fork handles.

  • I've never found the Two Ronnies particularly funny but there is something about Corbetts voice that is so calming, like listening to your family talk when your half asleep. Makes me feel like it's Christmas.

And the whole four candles thing wasn't actually that funny but the way Rob and Lee were so obviously delighted to be involved in such a classic sketch with Ronnie was heartwarming.

  • David looks like he lost a fair amount of weight.

  • @Kelennis he's been like that for the last few years. when peep show originally aired he was on the tubby side, but that was around mid-2000.

  • I really wish Ronnie Barker had been alive to see the panel show explosion... he would have been superb on this show...

  • Comment removed

  • David's pretend buddy had to be a lie. Playing monopoly with a pretend friend is one thing, but trying to play diplomacy with pretend people would get you a ticket to the psych ward fairly quickly :)

  • "And if I could, I wouldn't keep doing it."

Generally, I'm not one to be so wild and wacky as to quote a line from a youtube video in said youtube video's comment stream. But I cannot understand how that line coupled with Ronnie Corbett's physical presence could not keep Rob Brydon from shoving his impression into this episode as aggressively as Jack Torrance would if he were more comedic than psychotic. Furthermore, I'm not sure who I'd be quicker to forgive.

    Sometimes I miss Angus.

  • Me too. Rob should hold back on his crowbarring, as well. But that might be down to the script, perhaps.

I liked Angus. Will they bring him back?

  • @LetsGetFizical

Um...i don't think you quiet understand Brydon's humour. He doesn't shove the his impressions in because he thinks the impressions are funny. The joke IS that they are so forced and lame in a similar way to Vic and Bobs tumble weed gags on Shooting Stars.

He's not looking for a laugh from the impression he's setting up Lee to shoot him down. The fact that Corbett is there just makes the whole thing even more *facepalm* which is exactly what he's going for.

  • @ringosis Yeah, I do understand how someone could see it that way. Even if that were the case, the problem persists. Instead of him doing impressions far too often, he's slightly making fun of himself for doing so many impressions but still doing it far too often. However ironic it is, it'd still be getting old.

Regardless, I disagree. And unless the crowd is applauding ironically every time he does a voice, they disagree with you too. It's meant to be genuine, and it's genuinely annoying.

  • "Now what about Sarah, Lee?"

Tenner says Sarah started dreaming of 'Sara Lee'.

  • rob looks ecstatic that he's sitting next to ronnie :) so cute

  • Is the four candles/ fork handles bit a reference to something?

  • @lanegwyn

Can't tell if you're joking so - The Two Ronnies most famous sketch is called Four Candles. It's about a guy who goes into an odds and ends shop, and a series of verbal misunderstandings ensue, beginning with Four Candles and Fork Handles. Ronnie Corbett plays the shopkeeper who gets increasingly angry at the customer.

  • @TheConciseStatement I wasn't joking- thank you!!

  • Thanks, Mrmoody! My computer's dead, about the only think I can do on my sister's laptop is catch up on my UK telly watching on youtube :P

  • finally a mystery guest that is related to david, lol

  • So, thanks alot to the people who felt the need to comment who the guy belonged to, that really made the show more exciting

And before you start saying things like "just don't read it", the comments are at the top so they're visible whether I like it or not

  • @EmRyo agreed, kill that part of the show for me people, thx

  • what kind of accent does sarah millican have?

  • @allerdyce the strangely attractive kind:-|

  • @allerdyce She's a geordie (from the Newcastle area).

  • Diplomacy is a brilliant game. But you need more than two players.

  • Is there any old footage of that four candles fork handles routine lying around youtube? Something tells me I would enjoy it. XD

  • @BentonRox just search for "two ronnies four candles" and you'll find the sketch easily enough.

  • @BentonRox /watch?v=Cz2-ukrd2VQ

  • Okay, normally I don't have any trouble understanding these British shows, but obviously there's some well-known pop culture reason that whole "four candles/fork handles" thing was such a big deal. I'm afraid I'm going to need a British person to explain that one, please. o_0

  • @VerilyTY It refers to one of Ronnie Corbett's most famous sketches from "The Two Ronnies". As said aboe, search "two ronnies four candles" to find it.

  • Ah, now I get it. Thanks. :-)

  • 8:10-8-15

    Really?

    Good job David

  • hahaha, 7:44 David Mitchell closes his eyes and nods as if to say "ahh what a quality lie."

  • This Sarah person is quite quirky in the most positive way. I like her.

  • @hopeathlete If you like radio comedies, look up "Sarah Millican's Support Group." There's only like 4 episodes of it, I could upload it for you in you like :)

  • has anyone else noticed all the related videos on part 1 have true or truth in the titles and on this one all of them have false in the titles

  • When was this taped, before or after Holly's accident? I hope after, because she looks quite well here.

  • @ELuhn This series was taped back in April and May - if you go to the page history of the list of WILTY episodes on Wikipedia, it used to list recording dates

  • @ELuhn Holly had an accident? :O

  • @Musseduss I'm not clear what it was all about, but she was in one of those "Red Bull" type contests, where people in various silly getups jump off a pier into the water. She was in a mock helicopter. She hit the water badly, and broke an elbow and dislocated a shoulder. I haven't found out any more, but hopefully she's much better now.

  • @ELuhn Auch...

  • @ELuhn you can follow her on twiitter (username: wiggywalsh). Apparently she's still holed up on painkillers with the broken arm, but she's alive and kicking.

  • @ELuhn she had an accident?

  • 4:40 Thank god I wasn't the only one who's sick of Rob's impressions. Lee spoke the truth.

  • @DefinitelySurely Well, he got to wear the glasses. Maybe that'll keep him for a while.

  • Holly didn't say anything! o.0 I mean, no statements!

  • @Musseduss They record a turn for each guest in the first round, then cut out the one that isn't as funny as the others. She did get a turn, it just wasn't deemed funny enough to stay in

  • @chrstphrw A-ha. :P

  • I thought that there was no way that David's could be true because it was so much like those Burger King commercials where the man with small hands is too ashamed to eat their big Whopper burger, or something. Art imitates life, I suppose.

  • he's a funny guy don't get me wrong but you get the feeling Ronnie could say any thing and all the over panellists would piss them self laughing.

  • Warning: Here be SPOILERS!

    tisk tisk ;o)

  • I agree with Lee so much on Ronnie's last one, I wanted that to be true.

  • ..the dangers of fashist state.. :)

  • And Lee wants many stories to be true more than anything in the world :P

  • I wish I belonged to David!

  • @cupotrevor LEE!!!

  • @cupotrevor i agree

  • @cupotrevor even better lmfao

  • Comment removed

  • Great to see that 'this is my' was David Mitchell's, at last! And love how he stood up to shake hands with Paul; a true gentleman in anyone's book, I reckon.

  • Finally someone who belonged to David !

  • @tiza246 The best part is he has used the whole "He is my driver." routine before, and it has always been a lie!

  • @tiza246 lmfao omg just the way u put it i cudnt stop laughing

  • Julian ALWAYS gets caught up in some kind of sex joke. Always.

  • Haha, the one time Lee doesn't choose David for the 'This Is My' is the one time it really is him

  • W...wha..."This is my.." was finally David this time?

    Wow.
