  • SUCH A GREAT DOG I HAVE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have a american Akita it is well trained and it acts JUST like yours I LOVE AKITAS

  • Beautiful Akita....stunning. Excellent to watch him playing along with the girl :)

  • I remember being terrified of my cousin's akita puppy as a small boy, he was so large and frisky, I was afraid that he was going to eat me! My cousin would laugh as I cowered in a corner. It wasn't until I had no place to hide, that he caught me, and I realized he wasn't going to hurt me. It was then that !I conquered my fear of big dogs, and our family rottweiler.

  • Love this video! I pick up my second Akita today after a long 5 year wait since losing my first. So excited to have another loyal, loving akita in my family again.

  • @kelleyhhp I'm so glad I read this. I lost my beautiful boy nearly 18 months ago and my heart is as broken today as it ever was. Maybe I will be ready in a few years time, but until I read this I didn't think it was ever going to be possible to love another dog again, let alone another Akita. Thank you for giving me hope.

  • I HAVE AN AKITA BEST DOG EVER SO SWEET

  • かわいい

  • Incredible breed. I got one American Akita and she's a wonderfull, trustable friend.

  • how old is your akita is lovely

    check my akitas out

  • Too Cute!!!

  • That Kid is in Shape! :D

  • are all akitas aggressive to other animals?

  • @marine6 No. However, Akitas do have a stronger prey, dominance, and protective drive than most other dogs. This doesn't mean that they are "aggressive" dogs...just more protective than other breeds. An Akita will do fine with any animal it is raised with, and proper socialization and training as a puppy ( 3 months - 1 year period) will ensure that he is not aggressive towards other animals. This video shows the regal, playful and intelligent disposition that makes every Akita owner proud!

  • I'd love to hear the thought process which led one person to "dislike" this video.

"Every where I look....kids...dogs....laughter...beautiful countryside! If I had my way, I'd show em all... I'd learn em real good!"

  • @masadavt I totally agree,

  • @masadavt I totally agree, this is not a video to "dislike"

  • @masadavt It's because you secretly called for it by saying ' this is not a video to "dislike"'. There's always people who could be city dwellers who love cats, but hate dogs and kids. I liked it though ;) ..except for the sponsored part.

  • Excellent example of Akita temperment and GENTLENESS. Posted by Akita owner of 26 years. Great dog & child, very nice. I just lost my last one at age 14 and miss her terribly.

  • beautiful dog and child.i love the American Akita he will protect that child with his life great dog

  • I love Akita's....great dog to protect your family!!

  • Beautiful dog! I have an Akita/Shepherd mix who loves kids...but is a fierce defender of hearth and home....

  • i have 3 bedrooms 1 spare and my akita doesnt use that 1 but will go into my 4yo room and sleep at the end of his bed and on his floor when she is on his bed if he kicks the blankets off in his sleep she looks up at him licks his foot and goes back asleep makes ur heart melt

  • Akita? That's an interesting name.

  • oh my gosh!! mine is just like this, they're so adorable, like bears to hug and kiss lol... mine is very strong, but he knows i'm the boss son i dont have any problem with him, i have three more dogs (other breeds) and they all get along so well.

  • meravigliosi.

  • i miss my akita she was black and white and slightly bigger than this one and the most loyal loving dog i ever owned. She passed on of old age and i want another so bad. These are amazing dogs and incredibly smart.

  • So cute he's as big as the little girl

  • my Akita is similar markings to this one shes 8 years old has damaged both of her back legs in her time but still plays like that with me, best dog i've ever owned.

  • People can keep there Labradors and Golden Retrievers. Akitas and Collies are the best.

  • @flexin007 - Yup, they are very intelligent. One of the smartest breeds if you ask me. That is exactly why they require patience and hard work, they are incredibly stubborn and I believe that's due to how smart they are.

  • @flexin007

They are intelligent... They also tend to have a stubborn streak that must be dealt with... they are not a breed for the timid or those who dont have time to properly train their animal.

  • beautiful dog how long did it take to reach that size?

  • @Chris23688

    3 years

  • @akitahond she could have rode him.

  • I've had several Akitas in my life time and I can say from first hand experience that they are amazing dogs. Sweet and loving, very playful even into their adult years. I'd say they are one of the best dogs for a family HOWEVER an Akita is NOT a first time dog. Meaning if you've never owned a dog before, this is not the dog for you. They require patience and a firm owner who knows what they're doing and is willing to contribute time to raising the dog. This one's beautiful by the way. =D

  • Very nice

  • I know an akita that has a job at a kindergarden. He plays with the children all day, every day. This breed is excellent with children IF socialized with them from an early age.

  • Pure affection and mutual respect. This is a WONDERFUL clip!

  • i would so get one if it wasnt for the tail

  • Wow, she is an absolutely gorgeous Akita. I have a male who is turning 5 in a few months and I have had nothing but good experiences with him. When raised, trained and socialized properly they are great addition to any family.

  • is there any way to train an akita to be stranger friendly?

  • cute...

  • all AKITAS' origin from Japan, just a reminder to folks

  • Now there's a video to treasure! And I totally agree with you Akitahond, anyone who knows the breed can see your dog was being playful but more importantly submissive to the wee girl. She's got a friend and protector for many years to come.

  • lovely video

  • cool, thats a big dog nice to see it's in a happy home!!..

  • i read all the time on internet that akita is aggresive bread and need fuly attention when they are with kids and strange people at home is it true???

  • @MrKasnas no. they love kids. but they are territorial. I had one but she passed away 3 yrs ago. she was very friendly towards little kids in my neighborhood. they do need exercise tho or they will get bored and chew up stuff

  • strangers... YES... children no.. in the street my akitas is fine with all people... but in her yard.. no one gets in =D... i trust her wiht my neice and nephews.. but as you would already no.. NO child should be left alone with ANY dog :)

  • @MrKasnas Not with your own children. An akita will protect his own and will overprotect your children. So if other children are around playing , you better don't mix the akita with them. I don't think there would any problems but you never know. The akita might understand some playing situations different, don't forget he will protect his own !!!

Strange people on akita grounds are not a problem if you don't let them alone with your akita.

  • @akitahond male or female?

  • @MrKasnas My Akita died about a year ago. :( But he was great with my daughter and mostly stayed away when other kids would come over. But with other people that he didn't know he would some time be agressive. Also he didn't like strange dogs and would rush them. They need to be aclimated to children when they are puppies. They are also want to be around their owners alot, so if you are gone a lot they aren't the dog for you. They are high maintence but well worth it.

  • @MrKasnas Yeah its very true, never get an Akita or a German shepard. Akitas may pretend to be American ie "American Akitas" but lets not forget their true orgin, japanese. And what did America do to the japanese? Oh we just dropped a couple of A bombs on them thats all. I heard rumors that all Akitas are really just japanese sleeper agent dogs. They will soon be activated to attack us. I dont trust them. Nah just kidding im a kid and we have an Akita theyre TIIIIIGHT.

  • If you wrap the dogs head in alluminum foil they are unable to recieve commands from their japanese masters... of course you have to keep the foil on all the time or else they will get the kill command and they will then seek out and destroy the nations leadership.

  • @CzarKrali lol i was like wth is he talking about until i read my comment again...

  • @MrKasnas when i was a child my neighbors akita used to continuously bark at me and my family any time we were outside. one day i mustered up the courage to stick my hand through the fence. the akita was cautious at first but began licking me. ever since that day that akita was best friends with me and my sister and would have protected us as if we were his own. he used to go as far as to break off his leash and come over and play with us whenever we were outside. akitas are extremely good dogs

  • @MrKasnas also from my experience with akitas i would say that they are not so tolerant , especially with kids other than your family so never let your akita with other children as an adult dog, but when it is a puppy it is essential to socialize it.

  • shes exactly like my female akita, she loves children. great video

  • that is a beautiful dog i have a female that is similar in color there will never be a better companion than the great american akita

  • how old is this akita in this video?

  • She was 4 years old in the Video. She just turned 5 a few weeks ago

  • @akitahond Very nice dog, how long did it take for her to fill out to be about this size? 2yrs?

  • I thought these animals could not be mixed with children?

  • of course you can but you always need to be careful as with any other breed. Akita loves his own and they are very responsible with the kids. But you need to raise the akita with love not with anger. An Akita will love you back.

  • @akitahond This is my favorite breed of dog, I will get one further down the road. They are powerfull and project self confidence in a pridefull manner

  • They are stubborn breeds.. so you should be a little more cautious, then you should be with most dogs.. But on the other hand, there original use was to guard the children in the temple.

  • I have an American Akita. She's 13 and was raised with me since I was 7. They are great dogs, and as long as you raise them with love and respect, akita's will love and respect you back. My Akita is a complete charm and loves to lick your face and cuddle and have her head scratched. They are very patient dogs who love and cherish your compainionship!!!

  • @Kitsipawn I have 2 dogs and sometimes find it dificult to walk the fine line between a firm hand and making the dog feel intimidated by me

  • Ah I don't know how hard it is to handle two dogs, I only have one. So far my family hasn't had a problem with it. Every dog is different though!

  • @Kitsipawn congrats! I know I still have lots to learn about dogs but I would love to have an Akita as my next pet!

  • akitas either be bossed or boss... so its up to you hehehe

  • @seagull2k8 I would find it dificult to handle a 130 lb Akita if it goes bad

  • It is an akita not a animal in the wild. Akita's are VERY trustable with their own. If there would be any risc She woudn't be allowed to play with the children.

  • HI.......i had american akita (khan).he was my buddy he lived to be 14 . i can not write because of the tears in my eye's i wish he was still a live today . r.i.p my big teddy bear

  • realy nice thanks for vid

  • This video is too cute. I hope one day my Akita will play nice with my daughter. Right now my 14 week Akita is too mouthy with my little girl(2 yrs). But in A PLAYFUL MANNER. But y little girl doesn't like the nipping.

  • I had the same trouble with my fella when he was a pup. A dog trainer told me how to deal with it. When the dog touches you with his teeth you should make a high pitched yell and then ignore him/her for 5 minutes. That way he/she learns it's not play and it hurts you. Try it. It worked for my big fella. He's on my channel if you want to see him. Hope this helps.

  • nice dog

  • this is just too cute

  • That is so adorable, and they consider the akita to be an aggressive dog. They are truly a great family dog if the family is responsible. 5 stars
