I grew up drinking Red Rose, and I though it was the best. Then, a few years ago, I tried Ty-Phoo (imported from the UK, so it costs a bit more). It blew Red Rose right out of the water. Even my parents have switched to Ty-Phoo.
Larger Metro & Loblaws stores should carry it. Look for the square, red box, either above or below eye-level on the shelf.
Ty-Phoo is full-bodied, without being too strong. It's wonderfully refreshing, too. Sort of like Red Rose used to be when it was still being made by Brooke Bond. When it was taken over by Lipton (which is clearly more interested in pushing its own brand here), the flavour changed.
You can get Ty-Phoo at Superstore and Bulk Barn as well. :)
My mother and her mother drink nothing but King Cole tea at home. Used to not be able to get it in Ontario except at a few out-of-the-way locations, so my mother would bring a bunch of boxes for my grandmother when she visited from New Brunswick.
I just now figured out that their last word was "pity!" - this is a classic. Red Rose was the BEST tea. Too bad that now there is an American Red Rose and a Canadian one, and the Canadian one is owned by Lipton, which has discontinued the looseleaf variety.

My grandmother drank Red Rose tea, EVERY DAY. It was the only brand she would ever buy.

Really Oofus?
My family and I have been Red Rose tea drinkers since before I was born.
I'll have to keep an eye out for Ty-Phoo but I have yet to see it available in my area.

I've been seeing Ty-Phoo for years, but haven't tried it yet. I don't drink tea often, but I usually have green tea when I do.

Ever seen the Hale & Pace sketch on tea? I love the story of the man who severed his arm and they fixed him right up by using tea..hehe

Tea is my favorite hot drink. Generally, I recommend drinking looseleaf tea, it takes just a bit more effort to make but it's got much richer taste.
Those English people are hilarious.
