This is why Pirate Bay should be legal: You go buy a dvd or cd and then Hollywood aren't happy with that so they rerelese it 6 months later 'with added footage''=er your supposed to buy it again. I don't use pirate bay but i believe in its methods.

They're down because their ISP has cut them off. They're attempting to relocate but they're running into *secret* problems apparently. Follow the pirate bay's page on wikipedia for more info.
