Mine do the same this, I've ran these before with no noise issues, my new set are just as loud. SO annoying. Bed correctly, brake perfect, just loud as shit.
I have the same problem on my Passat. I ordered the HPS and installed them the same way the factory pads were installed. You can't screw it up because there is a wire on the pads that can only plug in one way. I bedded in the pads and they started squealing shortly after that. They only squeal after driving for a little bit when the brakes become hot. My rotors also took a turn for the worse. Brake dust has also become a very big problem. Wheel is covered within a week. Can't be HPS.
I have a set of Hawk Performance HPS Pads 181 on my BMW. I am experiencing similar squealing but not as loud. At low speeds, I can hear constant contact between the pads and the rotor that tells me they are touching even when my foot isn't even on the brake. I've had the calipers rebuilt, and just replaced the rotors and sanded the pads (they were glazed). All that is left for me to do is purchase new HPS brake pads all together. What was the the reasoning behind your squeals? TY
I have the same problem. I have installed over 10 sets of HPS without any problems. A couple months ago I bought a set of HPS rear and installed them. Not only do this particular set squealed, it also chewed up the rotors very noticeably compared to any other HPS I've seen.
I am suspecting that the HPS that I received actually contained the HP+. The appearance of the HP+ and HPS are the same.
I have them on front and rear they make ZERO noise. You shouldnt have turned your rotors, you should have replaced them. Your brakes didnt bed properly. 6-10 repeated stops from 100 to 10mph should help bed them. Really though, next time buy new rotors they are cheap enough and you wouldnt have had this problem at all guaranteed
Hawk pads are very quiet from my experience... You must mess up one of the step during the installation (recommended to install by professional)! At least your car is stoppable... LOL
I've got Hawk HP+ on the front and HPS in the rears on my Accord (AutoX, Lapping Events), and I've only ever get noise if I'm pressing really lightly on the brake pedal.
It might be the fact that the rear pads are barely getting any pressure and that is causing the noise... Did you bleed your system?
DAMN I new that carbon metallic have amazing linear brake performance and a lot of noise but I though only under heavy braking and not nearly this bad I'll save my money and just get metallics O GOD thank you for this video I would of been PISSED the fuck off If I got these
i thought i was the only one, i bought these pads on tire rack 2 months ago and my brake pads are squealing too. not as bad as yours though and also they acumulate a lot of brake dust shit!!
bummer man i'm having a great experiance with mine. just swapped over to super blue brake fluid too and the pedal has great feedback and the brakes bite nicely. maybe you got a bad set of pads. i'd talk with the seller to see if you can get a replacement or refund
holy crap on a stick... thats horrible, thanks for mking the vid i was looking into some hawk pads for my rex.... but after seeing this vid i think i might jsut pass lol...
HAWK HPS Brake Pads
HPS = street performance - a good pad with reasonable noise and dust and better performance than 'commodity' pads (good to 750 deg F or so).
critical words= "reasonable noise"..... if thats their definition of reasonable noise, then screw that... that noise is ridiculous.
i say fuck it! slam on those brakes! make them quite! lol

did you put the shims on the new brake pads and apply brake grease? hawk hps aren't that loud
dokterdoom 1 year ago
I've installed 2 sets of the hps and they're silent as stock on my 2002 Camaro SS and my 2004 Infiniti G35.

@Stealthvation there is something called brake grease you can put on the back of the pads to help this

I don't think you can turn the rotors on a BMW

on their website they say virtually noise free. they cant lie about that. that is no little noise you must of installed them incorrectly.

the problem isnt the pads, its the installation. maybe ur brake sensor is dragging
qaz393 2 years ago
hawks are supposed to squeek, but not this loud. these are either installed incorrectly or it's just really dirty/ didnt resurface the rotor...
marlo916 2 years ago
could it possible that the pads were installed incorrectly?

Higher metallic onctent, deal with it. You're putting higher performance pads on your Bimmer, so expect some extra noise, gee wiz!

gotta be install, file the ends little bit 45 degree. Stick with metalics on beemers
CRDLIBERTY 2 years ago
the ends come angled from the manufacturer. totally not the install. I installed other pads after this and no squeal.
LovingBimmers 2 years ago
@CRDLIBERTY i think he forgot to put the shims back on that usally stick to the back of the old pads

i've installed my hawk hps (the street pads) over the weekend and they are silent so i think you don't have the regular hps pads
pballer2005 2 years ago
I am 100% sure these are regular HPS pads.
LovingBimmers 2 years ago
weird, mine a perfectly quiet even when cold, and stop great. do they get any quieter when they wamr up? do they stop as hard as they should?
pballer2005 2 years ago
The noise is the same when cold or hot. There is no problem with stopping. These pads suck!
LovingBimmers 2 years ago
These pads are 100% regular HPS.

you sure you got the regular hps pads and not the hps hp plus? the hp plus is considered a track pad and those sound like track pads.
