There's no war against science. Atheists can't have contesting beliefs and so they rape "science," forcing it to create & propagate "evidence" supporting their worldview. It is the atheist that is waging a war against science; regardless of what science may say, their worldview can't accept God; thus He a priori does not exist. Evidence, sound arguments, etc supporting His existence is discarded. & the fallacy absence of evidence is evidence of absence becomes an uncontestable truth
@ChristianMission "Atheists can't have contesting beliefs and so they rape "science," forcing it to create & propagate "evidence" supporting their worldview."
what the fuck is this? are you TRYING to be ironic? why does EVERY christian out there project their own ignorance onto those they disagree with? you might as well be an alcoholic telling sober people they drink too much.
This is one of the biggest mis-matches i have ever seen. Hannity Vs Hitchens, on religion. I was going to say i almost felt sorry for Hannity, but that would be a lie.
I guess I'm one of the "elites"; I'm a 47-year-old Public Works Director of a little town in Polk County, Florida. I once had an IQ test in middle school, and tested about average for my age. I've never even been to Manhattan, but I've been an atheist since I was 17.
JESUS CHRIST, HIS CATHOLIC-UNIVERSAL-APOSTOLIC CHURCH, SACRAMENTS, THE BIBLE, MIRACLES, HEALINGS, ST. MARY APPARITIONS, MESSAGES FROM HEAVEN, SIGNS IN 2011 ARE NOT A MYTHOLOGY BUT THE REALITY !!!
their are dumb atheists, their are dumb christians, their dumb pedophile catholics, their are dumb everything, i dont believe in the holy as interpretated by the religious mass, i rather believe in aliens~ belief doesnt mean i know for a fact.. on another note, does hannity have to throw his anti obama relic in everything?
I'm a deist, and I'm pretty sure if I ever met Hannity, or any other right wing Christian "news" corespondent, who claimed the were feeling persecuted by the media, I'd punch them in the throat. Bullshit. I'm a (very) secular deist & many people look down their noses at me for it. It's even worse for atheists, which is awful as atheism is a perfectly valid point of view. Spacker fucktards like this need to just shut the fuck up.
Always interested by deists. Fancy giving me your reasoning why you think there's an actual being that started it all? I guess you could say I'm an agnostic about deism- although I'd say I'm an atheist about theism. Still, these terms are so often deliberately misused, I just say "non-believer".
@GodTheHypothesis To be honest, it's simply the hypothesis I have chosen. And I say hypothesis because that's all any of has at this point. While I do believe there is some sort of higher force out there, I don't believe in an afterlife (or at least I don't care) or miracles or saints or holy books or messiahs or anything like that. I believe in a higher power but not in any of the trappings that suggest that it interferes with or even cares about life. My reason: it just fits right in my head.
That's fair enough. To a certain extent that's the best we can do in these areas of uncertainty; go with what works intuitively for us. Given the constant failure of intuition in these areas that evolution had no access to, I wouldn't trust intuition. I assume you've read the various explanations in evolutionary psychology about why humans tend to look for agency and purpose - do they not persuade you away from that way of thinking?
@GodTheHypothesis Well, in a manner, they have. I do believe in a higher force, but certainly not in a "divine plan" or inherently flawed notions such as fate. That's actually part of deism: that there is no plan, that whatever higher force exists, it doesn't interfere with, well, anything. I may believe in my hypothesis, but I don't put stock in the idea of purpose in the universe. Well, beyond what you make for ourselves.
Well if you're a deist, you surely have to believe in some kind of purpose? That seems to be the only reason to actually assert a being instead of some impersonal cause, otherwise you're just adding unnecessary complexity! Another question I'd have would be- would a scientific explanation of consciousness affect your belief? Most deists I've talked to seem to relate it to a belief that consciousness is somehow fundamental to the universe.
@GodTheHypothesis I don't feel it adds "unnecessary complexity" at all. I simply believe that there is a higher force that is a part of the universe. I do not believe that there needs to be any sort of purpose behind all of this. As for consciousness, as I do not believe )or at the least, I don't care about ) an afterlife, my consciousness, to me, is all that I am. "I think, therefore I am". I'm not really certain what that has to do with my beliefs, but there you go.
I have to agree with a select few of Hannity's points. Especially coming reddit, i must say that some atheists can be rather snotty about their remarks on religion, but so can the ignorant religious about God. Being a theology student, many people take the bible out of context (like homosexuality) and bend it to their will, which makes my rage meter hit 10000000000
@1eyedjack3 "Being a theology student, many people take the bible out of context (like homosexuality) and bend it to their will"
what do you expect to happen when you give people a book that allows, or even promotes, ignorance and bigotry, and then call it the 'word of god'? bigots will eat that shit up with a spoon.
also, much of the distaste atheists have with religion and the religious comes from the way they are treated by the religious for not buying into the same bullshit.
i disagree with you about the bible promoting ignorance, (i'd hate to quote drop but) "why dont you judge for yourself what is right" Luke 12:57. Most of religion's roots encourage tolerance, how some people selectively read the book does not reflect on the religion itself. But we both agree that Faux news takes everything to the extreme. It's like Bill O, Hannity, and Beck have a bet on who can terrify the most people in one hour of prime time.
@1eyedjack3 "i disagree with you about the bible promoting ignorance"
what else do you call it when a group denies basic science and instead favors things like prayer and miracles? its primitive thinking, and conservatives love it because their goal is to conserve all the shitty parts of our society.
re-read the last comment "How some people selectively read the book does not reflect on the religion itself." And just because there are loons in religion who completely misinterpret the bible, this doesn't mean that all of us (Christians/Conservatives) are like that.
@1eyedjack3 oh...so you're the only conservative in america that supports socialism and free healthcare like jesus? also, i'm sure you've never worked on a sunday...ever.
So as a theology student, what is the correct context of stoning gay people? I have about 100 other brutal verses in the old testament I'd also like to know the correct context of. Given that for thousands of years christians read these things literally, you could almost say your God was rather immoral for letting them be included.
read my my posts (i will have to do a couple) and you will understand the context
I assume you are referring to the verse about about gays that goes like "if a man lies with another man like he does with a women, then there blood is upon them" which i think is in Leviticus. The chapter of Leviticus which contains that verse (Leviticus 18) was in response to Assyrian and Palestinian cultural influences on the Jews when they arrived in Israel, if you read chapter 18, the whole
section is "thou shalt not, thou shalt not, thou shalt not..." and it was a response to outside cultures that were effecting the Jews and causing them to become pagans. So if across the road they saw Palestinians committing incest, the Jews were not allowed to commit incest. When they saw two men having gay relations, the Jews said that no one can be gay or we will stone you because you are rejecting Jewish culture and religion by doing it. It wasn't that they actually hated
gay people, they just did it to try and preserve their culture and notice that gays aren't stoned in Israel today, which shows that it isnt supposed to be taken seriously. To some up, the chapter of Leviticus was a series of lists of illegal activities to try and persevere their culture, and isn't supposed to be taken seriously today. And God didn't "write" the bible, scholars and kings did, only Islam believes their holy book (The Qu'ran) was written by God.
Well, where to begin. I have to say I'm not very impressed by such rationalisations- and I think you could probably justify a book saying pretty much ANYTHING in such a way. You haven't really addressed why they regarded gays as unacceptable anyway though? I mean, the ancient greeks did just fine with homosexuality and didn't oppress at all. Ok, not written by God by you surely have to say that he had the power to alter what the people wrote? In which case- he should have.
Ok, I'll further simplify. Jews didn't like gays because other cultures around them were influencing the Jewish people and they tried to preserve their cultural identity by hating and rejecting everything but Judaism, like homosexuality. The Greeks weren't in danger of becoming culturally extinct like the Jews were when they moved to Israel, and comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges.
Ok so far you've basically said that the creator of the universe came up with these rules so the jews could promote their tribalism. I can't take that seriously in any way- why would a God favour one group over another, it's a tell-tale sign that you have a man-made God.
How many times do i have to explain to you that GOD DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE, therefore it is not a perfect book. Also, I would not expect you to believe any facts I put in front of you anyway and with the name "GodTheHypothesis" I expected you to try and shoot down any of the factual evidence I put before you. I for one completely accept the fact that I will never know for sure if there is a God or not and I'm not going to claim I know. I just studied the texts
How on earth does my screenname suggest I'm closed minded about it? I didn't say it was a failed hypothesis. I'm open to the ideas I just find a lot of theology to be basically post-hoc reasoning where people come to it already believing something and then try and rationalise it. That's not a good way to determine what's true. If you accept that you'll never know, why are you arguing FOR it? What's wrong with stopping at saying you don't know?
I'm arguing that even thought the bible isn't perfect, everything is in there for a reason and most of the people who practice it or ridicule it do not read it with the proper context. I am not arguing about God and the probability of its existence. I apologize for targeting your screen name.
Well it's not like it comes with a footnote telling you what the proper context is. I mean, the people who wrote it knew nothing about science so I'm inclined to think when they were talking about the creation of the world etc, they WERE talking literally. They were just wrong. I think that's my problem with theology in general- instead of just admitting that some things are wrong it says something like "well they have a different kind of truth".
The creation stories were never supposed to be literally either, that's why two creationalism stories are back to back in the beginning of the bible and one has a talking snake. It's to inform the reader that the stories aren't supposed to be taken seriously. It is like one of Aesop's fables. Adam and Eve represent human imperfection and how even under the best conditions (garden of Eden), humans will be humans and fall to evil. It's a precedent for the rest of the bible.
And how exactly do you know they weren't meant literally? The people at the time knew nothing about science so were bound to take them as fact- so what, the biblical authors just wrote them because 2000 years later, we'd know enough to realise they were metaphorical?
And also, if they're metaphorical- the whole concept of original sin was basically one that God decided to create. So he chose to make humans as sinners and then chose to sacrifice his son to revoke it? Boyyyy
I think my main problem with this theological approach you're taking is the fact that while it may be more sophisticated, it's completely useless at determining whether it's actually true or not. In a weird way, I have more respect for the fundamentalist because they're really interested in whether it's true or not- and they approach it in a more scientifc way (just ignorantly). Theologians aren't in the business of trying to challenge beliefs, they're just rationalising them.
The bible has more knowledge than any of us will ever know. I know I am right in this factual assertion because that's what actually happened. You can continue to try and deny the fact that the bible is absurd despite it being one of the best philosophical book ever(yes it is more insightful then 'The Republic' if you study it correctly). I am sure my professors and mentors from Harvard divinity school wouldn't lie to me like that. O you and your philistine beliefs.
i can not reason with people that can't accept historical facts. O, I tried more than most with you because i thought you had some reasoning ability when i saw your first comment. I only pulled the Harvard card cause I thought that you did not think I was educated in the matter of the bible.
@1eyedjack3 Hannity never makes sense, and atheists are not snobby with religion. This what I do: I take a Bible, burn it. They don't burn too well nowadays. Then I leave it at the steps or in the door handle of a church on Saturday night. Every chance I get, I desecrate some Christian bullshit, fucker. That's snobby. And also, fuck theology. It's not an actual intellectual discipline.
today i have learned that attempting to reason with people on the internet is impossible. And not an intellectual discipline? Theology is a form of philosophy, whether you believe in a Deity or not. "Fuck theology" well that type of attitude about education won't get you far now will it.
@1eyedjack3 Alchemy and astrology used to be regular disciplines in the university. It's about time theology take the same route. I stick by "fuck theology" as its own philosophy, which if followed, will get one farther than almost any other philosophy. I don't follow reason or rationality when my opponent can, like you, pull shit out of his ass. That just makes for an unfair dispute. My answer is to desecrate every religious symbol I can get my hands on.
So...that's why the American Cancer Society declined a $500,000 donation from the Freedom From Religion Foundation? Because Atheists are less likely to donate?
Fuck.
You.
Hannity.
(And the other fuck who was interviewed by the dick.)
I notice how Hannity keeps on the energy argument as if that defends the Christian perspective. As Hitchens has said many times even if you accept a Universal designer you only made the case for Deism, you still have all your work ahead to be religious. Of-course the Christian God doesn't come close to knowing the age of the universe or the shape of his covented Earth but is somehow the creator of the universe. Also new rule... Hannity doesn't get to mention the Big Bang again!
Yeah, Hannity, journalism is dead in America because you say it is after getting your panties in a bunch over a newspaper story. What a flaming idiot.
Yes Sean Hannity, there is an atheist agenda Muahhahahaha!. I'm not sure what the fuck that would be since there are no atheist dogmas. Whatever it is, it must be evil. *puts my pinky to my mouth like Dr. Evil*
What fucking idiots. I can't BELIEVE he actually said that at the end. Journalism is dead because of some law that says they don't have to tell the truth just opinions, and Fox news fucking sucks ass.
Exactly. If the Universe had to have a creator, who created the creator. And further more, if the creator didn't NEED to be created - as many theists will say - and had no beginning, why does the UNIVERSE need to be created and have a beginning? Why not remove a step, as Sagan said?
Journalism is dead in America because we have not yet risen as one and stormed and torn down Fox News manually. The longer we allow Fox News to exist, the more intelligence they wind up siphoning from the people.
@Dogmeat1950 There are right leaning (conservative) atheists, but there are stronger correlations between liberalism and atheism. So your first sentence is misleading. Also, Penn and Teller are not anywhere near the 'far right', that's absurd. Penn is an outspoken libertarian. So you are 0 for 2 my friend.
@Dogmeat1950 Libertarianism isn`t right, nor left. It`s core social value, individual liberty, is decidedly left. It`s belief in small government is right. Pretty much everything else in terms of social values would agree with the left entirely. So libertarianism is right only in a very simplistic view of the political spectrum. Also, the stats do not support your assertion that most atheists tend to be centrist, though I actually suspect you are correct in a sense. The studies on the issue show
@Dogmeat1950 ...a strong correlation between atheism and liberal/democrat affiliation. However, this says nothing about the nuance of their political positions. Atheists tend to be skeptical, rational and in favour of evidence-based policy, which by extension usually leads to centrist positions. In that respect, I will have to agree with you, though that still makes atheists left-leaning by and large. There is also an interesting conservative atheist demographic, though. Sorry about the score...
@mstoudt6 wow...you are absolutely correct. Please tell me more about this "holy spirit" you speak of. Pay God's Will the ultimate tribute and elaborate, teach me more so I can be saved. Type it here...for all to see. I need to know more about the Lord.
@azzilebosoljah Says the person who believes in an ancient book written thousands of years ago. Hmm ... if you like the bible or Koran how bout you read Lord of the rings? Theirs magic, war and all sorts of fun stuff in their. Personally I like the bible, it's a lot gorier and much more entertaining.
@stefanoGFsiciliano says the person who deosnt believe in god. why would i listen to a person like that lol i dont consider you athiests as people, i consider athiests as a bunch of dogs, because dogs are dumb yet they listen to what people say. so to all you dogs, grow the fuck up we wouldnt be here for science, were here because of god. everytime an athiests heres about a miracle, he buckles and doesnt know what to say lmao
@azzilebosoljah Why would I believe in God? It's like believing in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Science doesn't know everything, and I'll admit that. I'll humbly admit that I don't know everything either, unlike you people who assume God knows all and is all and therefore worship him. You don't have any proof for Gods or God and never will. It's all a matter of blind faith and faith on faith.
@azzilebosoljah atheists are sad pathetic people, honestly they attack others because they live happy,, free and have a feeling of purpase and meaning because they are sad and emty and only want everyone to join in there sad life of getting up thinking your going to die and be black......i say pick up a bible, Qur'an, tora,, learn and decided but leave us alone, i am never going change because i am doing waht i know is right for me.
@Marh044 because your a bitch and you live in denial. dont change, when you die and realise that god DOES exist, your the one going to suffer and burn in hell for denying him all your life. live happy now, cry later.
@Paletero336 thats not a question because there is one true religion.. chrsitinaty. everything else is fucked. so stop living in denial, God DOES exist so no matter what you should love him.
Jews and Muslims Mormons Catholics are just as sincere in their faith.
when I was a christian some made valid points that it be absurd for god to sacrifice himself(in the form of jesus) to himself.
The Bible itself contradicts itself even without external sources.
the same reasons why you reject other religions (for being fucked) are the same reasons I reject Christianity...Christianity itself right down to the holy books is fucked up.
@Paletero336 dont tell me this. i have strong faith, im no idiot to believe what other people say. tell God this on judgement day when you see him and realise that you should have believed in him the whole time. i have seen miracles, i have read about miracles, i have seen pictures that have miracles in them and i have been to a saints house so the rest is up to athiests to realise that they are living a waste of a life.
I dont deny your faith, but absolute blind faith without skepticism is not a good virtue, side affects may include hating alienating people of different believes etc.
and I'm curious, miracles?
lot of religions have claims of miracles ,
its not exclusive to Christianity and the fact Christianity itself is divided
@azzilebosoljah not really, you believe in some book written hundreds of years ago with absolutely no proof that it's true. You look like a fucking idiot lol.
athiesm: The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosours LMAOO makes perfect sense. And obviously it was written hundreds of years ago dickhead, it was the disciples that wrote it and they dont live forever lmaoo :)
@azzilebosoljah obviously you know nothing about atheism, we take the scientific approach to explaining the question of "why are we here?" unfortunately science only goes so far, and the thing about atheists or non believers is that we aren't afraid of saying "I dont know", i am emotionally and mentally stable enough to live with not knowing what created me, and I'm sorry that you are not. here is a question for you? what created god? and what created what created god?
@azzilebosoljah Congratz, you look like even more of an idiot lol. OK, i'll play along dumbass, if it makes so much sense to you that anything complex needs a designer, what created God? He is the most complex entity is he not? How did he come into existance? Oh, and don't use some pseudo response like, "He was always there". That won't work. And for the record, there are these things called subatomic particles which do come from nothing. God is man made.
@revolution94ful lmaooo your the idiot, for you to ask me who created god means that you believe that god exists and if u believe that god exists then u would know that no one created him :)
@azzilebosoljah uh no in no way did i say he exists. That's why i said "i'll play along dumbass." I was being hypothetical. Pay attention lmao. You're a hopeless cause. I know you just said that, because you couldn't come up with an answer. Admit it, you don't have an answer do you? I know you probably won't answer because you know you've lost the argument, but please try to answer the question lol. If he exists in your eyes, why shouldn't he have a creator? Isn't he complex too?
think about you dope, WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION HIM OR HOW HE GOT THERE?
who are you to question anyting about him. For him to have the power to create this world, i think only a normal human would know that no one put him there lmao.. why dont u explain to me what happened point for point before the big bang :) speechless :)??
@lmfao look who's talking. Alright, i'll answer your question even though you really haven't come up with a credible answer. You need energy, matter, and space to make a universe. Mass and energy are basically the same thing. So really it's only two ingredients. Every action you perform has a opposite action. An example is digging a hole in order to make a hill. You create a hill and a hole at the same time. The hole is representative of negative energy. cont.
@lmfao By creating energy, the big bang produced simultaneously the same amount of negative energy. Therefore it canceled it out. If the universe adds up to nothing, you don't need a god to create it. It wouldn't make sense.
@azzilebosoljah Absolutely nothing, check out my other 2 comments in response. To the specifics of your question, what came before the big bang was absolutely nothing. The justification comes from the fact that the big bang came from one atom, which in turn was made up of subatomic particles, which are observed popping into existance from absolutely nothing. Matter in of itself was basically created from nothing. Sorry, but there is no reason for a god. :) Science trumps a reason for a god. :)
@revolution94ful where did one atom come from lol? Athiesm: The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosours < thats what you think???
@azzilebosoljah Atheists don't claim to know factually what happened at the beginning of time, nor that God doesn't exist. If they did, they would be as ignorant as Christians who "know the truth". Atheists shouldn't need to prove this point in the first place, because it is YOU who is claiming that a God does exist, therefore YOU must provide the proof!! It is perfectly rational for me not to believe someone if they tell me that Santa Claus is going to come down my chimney in the middle of July
think about you dope, WHO ARE YOU TO QUESTION HIM OR HOW HE GOT THERE?
who are you to question anyting about him. For him to have the power to create this world, i think only a normal human would know that no one put him there lmao.. why dont u explain to me what happened point for point before the big bang :) speechless :)???
answer this hanity or any christian on here this question always shuts people up because you can't answer it . which shows the proof of non existence WHO CREATED GOD DID HE CREATE HIMSELF FROM NOTHING. exactly shut up now your stupid and have no crutch or reason for living now go kill your selves and die brainless idiots .
So it's stupid to think that a God created itself from nothing, but it's not stupid to believe the universe created itself from nothing. Wow, excellent knowledge!...not!
@ace19901227 "So it's stupid to think that a God created itself from nothing, but it's not stupid to believe the universe created itself from nothing."
your lack of understanding the arguments is quite apparent.
Actually I understand it very well. Also why is that someone who believes in a God is automatically assumed to be a Christian? I believe in a God, but I'm not a Christian. I think a lot of their beliefs are silly but I don't think they are brainless idiots and that they should kill themselves and die. That's a very simple minded statement from you and honestly more ridiculous than anything I have ever heard a Christian say.
@ace19901227 "why is that someone who believes in a God is automatically assumed to be a Christian?"
i never said i thought you were christian, dumbass.
"That's a very simple minded statement from you and honestly more ridiculous than anything I have ever heard a Christian say."
in that case you need to talk to more christians. if you don't find the story of noah's ark to be simple minded, you just might be simple minded yourself. enjoy your deism (that is a direct result of theism).
"I never said I thought you were Christian, dumb ass"
I'm responding in part to your 1st comment, dumb ass.
"in that case you need to talk to more christians. if you don't find the story of noah's ark to be simple minded, you just might be simple minded yourself"
The story of Noah is actually derived from a Sumerian tale, do you go on their videos and call them stupid? Thought so
"enjoy your deism (that is a direct result of theism)"
ALTHOUGH I'M A CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIAN (Baptist), I no longer believe that the Bible teaches eternal torment or suffering. The Bible teaches eternal punishment, but it's not eternal torment. In my popular Internet article, TRADITIONAL DOCTRINE OF HELL EVOLVED FROM GREEK ROOTS, I explain how and why teaching of eternal torment entered early into Christianity and how Scriptures have been misinterpreted and taken out of context to support that teaching. ~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy (even in an open system). Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)
NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). How were species living, reproducing if their reproductive system, vital structures, and organs hadn't evolved yet? Read my Pravda Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! I discuss: Punctuated Equilibrium, "Junk DNA," genetics, mutations, natural selection, fossils, genetic/biological similarities between species.
NATURAL SELECTION DOESN'T PRODUCE ANYTHING. It can only "select" from variations produced having survival value. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. If a variation occurs that helps a species survive, then that species is going to survive (be "selected'). That's all that natural selection is! It's a passive process in nature. Read my popular Internet article WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS.
WHAT ABOUT THE STARS? Gravity explains how the order found in the precise courses of trillions of stars is maintained, but gravity can't explain the origin of that order! Did all the trillions of stars agree to get out of each other's way? C'mon! Disorder in the universe is because of chance, but the order is because of design. Read my popular Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.
SCIENCE DOESN'T EXPLAIN AWAY GOD: Natural laws may explain how an airplane or living cell works, but mere undirected natural laws cannot explain the origin of either. Science simply is knowledge based on observation. No one observed the universe coming by chance or by design, by creation or by macro-evolution. These are positions of faith. The issue is which faith the scientific evidence best supports. Read my Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
DEBATE IS NOT OVER. In Darwin's time not enough science was known to refute macro-evolution. There was no understanding of genetics. Darwin thought the cell was just a simple glob. No one knew about DNA, RNA, proteins. Modern evolutionists now know but the theory is entrenched as gospel and a lot of personal motives are at stake as well. Just saying that something evolved doesn't make it so! Read my article WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
DAWKINS, HITCHENS, AND HAWKING REFUSE TO DEBATE with creationists who are SCIENTISTS, such as the scientists at The Institute for Creation Research. Dawkins and his friends only debate non-scientist creationists. Read articles by scientists supporting creation at The Institute for Creation Research site.
DO EYES CARRY SCARS OF EVOLUTION? Read this fantastic Internet article by biologist and creationist Brian Thomas. Thomas refutes every argument of a "flawed" design for the eye, and explains how and why the so-called flaw is actually the best thing for the eye. Read the article! It's amazing what facts evolutionists will ignore. Numerous times evolutionists have been proven wrong about their interpretation of a structure as flawed or useless.
BLIND WATCHMAKER NO ARGUMENT. Natural selection is no "blind watchmaker" because it can only "select," not produce. It only operates once there is life and reproduction, not before, so it couldn't have been involved in life's origins. A partially-evolved cell (an oxymoron) would quickly disintegrate. It couldn't wait ("survive") millions of years for chance to complete it and then make it living! Read: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
AMINO ACIDS CAN HAPPEN BY CHANCE BUT NOT PROTEINS: Read my popular Internet articles, "How Forensic Science Refutes Atheism," "Origin of Life Deception by Evolutionists," "Any Life On Mars Came From Earth."
INTELLIGENT DESIGN DEBATE: If you discovered a sand castle on a lonely beach, you can't prove it was made by either chance or design. No one observed its origins. Either it was designed or the random forces of wind and waves made the castle. There are no fingerprints. Did the wind wipe the fingerprints away? How do we know that there were fingerprints in the first place? By chance or by design? Both sides should present their case. Read the article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
GENETIC INFORMATION DOESN'T HAPPEN BY CHANCE, so it's more logical to believe that genetic similarities between all forms of life are due to a common Designer who designed similar functions for similar purposes. It doesn't mean all forms of life are biologically related! "Junk DNA" isn't junk. These non-coding segments of DNA have recently been found to be vital in regulating gene expression. Read: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Nature has no ability to invent new genes via random mutations caused by random environmental forces. That’s evolutionary faith, not science. Read my article, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
ARE FOSSILS REALLY MILLIONS OF YEARS OLD? Popular Internet article examines assumptions concerning fossil deposition as well as built-in assumptions involved in modern radiometric dating (not used for dating fossils but other rocks), arguments from starlight and time. Discusses lack of transitional forms and lack of "age" sequence of the fossil layers. Discusses mixed species in fossils (i.e. dinosaur, reptile, mammal fossils in the same stratum conveniently ignored by evolutionists).
IMAGINE A FISH WITH PART FINS, part feet with the fins evolving (transitioning) into feet. What survival benefit would there be? The fish couldn't use its fins or its feet, and there are no fossils showing such a creature ever existed. They only exist on automobile bumper stickers! There are no true transitional forms, either living or fossilized. Evolutionists realize this fact! Read my Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
NOT ALL EVOLUTIONISTS even agree on the fossils used to support and reconstruct human evolution. The bones are incomplete. There's no certainty of the bones belonging to the same creature. They can reconstruct whatever they want from these bones, and they have. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from an ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from a four-legged dog-like creature. Read my article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE
APES ARE QUITE COMFORTABLE IN HOW THEY WALK, just as humans are quite comfortable in how they walk. Even a slight change in the position of a muscle or bone, for either, would be excruciatingly painful and would not be an advantage for survival. There's no hard evidence that humans evolved from ape-like creature anymore than there's hard evidence that apes evolved from four-legged dog-like creatures. Read Internet article: MISSING LINKS THAT NEVER WERE.
THE LAW OF ENTROPY in science teaches that the net useful energy in the universe is becoming irreversibly useless and all the universe, if left to itself, will become totally useless energy. This is true whether the universe is an open system or closed system. This is proof that the universe is not eternal, otherwise it would have reached this point long ago. Read my Internet article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM.
EINSTEIN CONFIRMED that space and time are just as physical as matter. That's why space and time can be altered by gravity, and space produces particles. Einstein's equations show that the universe couldn’t be eternal. It had a beginning. Einstein believed, because of science, in the existence of God behind the origin and order of the universe. He didn't believe in a personal God like Christians do, but he did believe science pointed to the existence of an all powerful and intelligent Creator!
~Babu G. Ranganathan (B.A. theology/biology)
fox news makes me embarrassed to be a republican. (for the record I'm Atheist, and it makes me wonder if they can be sooo blind on this topic... we... what else have they got wrong?)
For anyone that will argue that the creation proves the creator, who created the creator?
I don't want to live in a world where humanity needs a man in the sky to prevent us from destroying one another. I hold the door open for other people, not because of God, but because I know that by such a small act I can improve the day, perhaps the life (butterfly effect), of a fellow human being.
The phrase "leap of faith" is an entirely accurate method of describing the mental process faith requires. To have faith in something is to accept a conclusion which does not logically follow from your premises. A leap of faith is a jump to conclusions. You can talk about creation implying a creator all you want, but until that implication is rationally justified, an implication is all it will ever be.
I love how people thing the "default" state of the universe is void, nothingness, empty etc. They take that assumption as a given. Perhaps the default state of the universe "is" something and this "void" people are trying to wrap their heads around doesn't exist? I just love how theists assume we thing the world came from nothing.....

Spacker fucktards like this need to just shut the fuck up.
lycanfan 2 months ago
@lycanfan
Always interested by deists. Fancy giving me your reasoning why you think there's an actual being that started it all? I guess you could say I'm an agnostic about deism- although I'd say I'm an atheist about theism. Still, these terms are so often deliberately misused, I just say "non-believer".
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis To be honest, it's simply the hypothesis I have chosen. And I say hypothesis because that's all any of has at this point. While I do believe there is some sort of higher force out there, I don't believe in an afterlife (or at least I don't care) or miracles or saints or holy books or messiahs or anything like that. I believe in a higher power but not in any of the trappings that suggest that it interferes with or even cares about life. My reason: it just fits right in my head.
lycanfan 2 months ago
@lycanfan
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis Well, in a manner, they have. I do believe in a higher force, but certainly not in a "divine plan" or inherently flawed notions such as fate. That's actually part of deism: that there is no plan, that whatever higher force exists, it doesn't interfere with, well, anything. I may believe in my hypothesis, but I don't put stock in the idea of purpose in the universe. Well, beyond what you make for ourselves.
lycanfan 2 months ago
@lycanfan
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis I don't feel it adds "unnecessary complexity" at all. I simply believe that there is a higher force that is a part of the universe. I do not believe that there needs to be any sort of purpose behind all of this. As for consciousness, as I do not believe )or at the least, I don't care about ) an afterlife, my consciousness, to me, is all that I am. "I think, therefore I am". I'm not really certain what that has to do with my beliefs, but there you go.
lycanfan 2 months ago
I have to agree with a select few of Hannity's points. Especially coming reddit, i must say that some atheists can be rather snotty about their remarks on religion, but so can the ignorant religious about God. Being a theology student, many people take the bible out of context (like homosexuality) and bend it to their will, which makes my rage meter hit 10000000000
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3 "Being a theology student, many people take the bible out of context (like homosexuality) and bend it to their will"
what do you expect to happen when you give people a book that allows, or even promotes, ignorance and bigotry, and then call it the 'word of god'? bigots will eat that shit up with a spoon.
also, much of the distaste atheists have with religion and the religious comes from the way they are treated by the religious for not buying into the same bullshit.
C0ct0pusPrime 2 months ago 8
@C0ct0pusPrime
i disagree with you about the bible promoting ignorance, (i'd hate to quote drop but) "why dont you judge for yourself what is right" Luke 12:57. Most of religion's roots encourage tolerance, how some people selectively read the book does not reflect on the religion itself. But we both agree that Faux news takes everything to the extreme. It's like Bill O, Hannity, and Beck have a bet on who can terrify the most people in one hour of prime time.
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3 "i disagree with you about the bible promoting ignorance"

So as a theology student, what is the correct context of stoning gay people? I have about 100 other brutal verses in the old testament I'd also like to know the correct context of. Given that for thousands of years christians read these things literally, you could almost say your God was rather immoral for letting them be included.
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
read my my posts (i will have to do a couple) and you will understand the context
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
section is "thou shalt not, thou shalt not, thou shalt not..." and it was a response to outside cultures that were effecting the Jews and causing them to become pagans. So if across the road they saw Palestinians committing incest, the Jews were not allowed to commit incest. When they saw two men having gay relations, the Jews said that no one can be gay or we will stone you because you are rejecting Jewish culture and religion by doing it. It wasn't that they actually hated
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
gay people, they just did it to try and preserve their culture and notice that gays aren't stoned in Israel today, which shows that it isnt supposed to be taken seriously. To some up, the chapter of Leviticus was a series of lists of illegal activities to try and persevere their culture, and isn't supposed to be taken seriously today. And God didn't "write" the bible, scholars and kings did, only Islam believes their holy book (The Qu'ran) was written by God.
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
Ok so far you've basically said that the creator of the universe came up with these rules so the jews could promote their tribalism. I can't take that seriously in any way- why would a God favour one group over another, it's a tell-tale sign that you have a man-made God.
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
I'm arguing that even thought the bible isn't perfect, everything is in there for a reason and most of the people who practice it or ridicule it do not read it with the proper context. I am not arguing about God and the probability of its existence. I apologize for targeting your screen name.
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis
1eyedjack3 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
Boyyyy
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@1eyedjack3
GodTheHypothesis 2 months ago
@GodTheHypothesis

@1eyedjack3 Alchemy and astrology used to be regular disciplines in the university. It's about time theology take the same route.

@stefanoGFsiciliano says the person who deosnt believe in god. why would i listen to a person like that lol i dont consider you athiests as people, i consider athiests as a bunch of dogs, because dogs are dumb yet they listen to what people say. so to all you dogs, grow the fuck up we wouldnt be here for science, were here because of god. everytime an athiests heres about a miracle, he buckles and doesnt know what to say lmao
azzilebosoljah 4 months ago
@azzilebosoljah Why would I believe in God? It's like believing in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. Science doesn't know everything, and I'll admit that. I'll humbly admit that I don't know everything either, unlike you people who assume God knows all and is all and therefore worship him. You don't have any proof for Gods or God and never will. It's all a matter of blind faith and faith on faith.
stefanoGFsiciliano 4 months ago
@azzilebosoljah atheists are sad pathetic people, honestly they attack others because they live happy,, free and have a feeling of purpase and meaning because they are sad and emty and only want everyone to join in there sad life of getting up thinking your going to die and be black......i say pick up a bible, Qur'an, tora,, learn and decided but leave us alone, i am never going change because i am doing waht i know is right for me.
Marh044 4 months ago
@Marh044 because your a bitch and you live in denial. dont change, when you die and realise that god DOES exist, your the one going to suffer and burn in hell for denying him all your life. live happy now, cry later.

@azzilebosoljah im confused ....i believe in god an know there is a hell, i was talking about non believers...im confused why it was directed at me.

@azzilebosoljah
the question is which god will it be if you worship the wrong god you'll be punished by the right god(s)
and since all religions are the same when it comes to faith, and not based on solid evidence , your betting on infinity.
and how can you know for sure all the people you care about will make it to heaven
how evil can you be knowing billions will suffer simply for not choosing the right god .
Paletero336 4 months ago
@Paletero336 thats not a question because there is one true religion.. chrsitinaty. everything else is fucked. so stop living in denial, God DOES exist so no matter what you should love him.
azzilebosoljah 4 months ago
@azzilebosoljah
how do you know that is the one true god
Jews and Muslims Mormons Catholics are just as sincere in their faith.
when I was a christian some made valid points that it be absurd for god to sacrifice himself(in the form of jesus) to himself.
The Bible itself contradicts itself even without external sources.
the same reasons why you reject other religions (for being fucked) are the same reasons I reject Christianity...Christianity itself right down to the holy books is fucked up.
Paletero336 4 months ago
@Paletero336 dont tell me this. i have strong faith, im no idiot to believe what other people say. tell God this on judgement day when you see him and realise that you should have believed in him the whole time. i have seen miracles, i have read about miracles, i have seen pictures that have miracles in them and i have been to a saints house so the rest is up to athiests to realise that they are living a waste of a life.
azzilebosoljah 4 months ago
@azzilebosoljah
I dont deny your faith, but absolute blind faith without skepticism is not a good virtue, side affects may include hating alienating people of different believes etc.
and I'm curious, miracles?
lot of religions have claims of miracles ,
its not exclusive to Christianity and the fact Christianity itself is divided
for example between Catholics and protestants

God is man made.
revolution94ful 3 months ago

For him to have the power to create this world, i think only a normal human would know that no one put him there lmao.. why dont u explain to me what happened point for point before the big bang :) speechless :)??
azzilebosoljah 3 months ago
@lmfao look who's talking. Alright, i'll answer your question even though you really haven't come up with a credible answer. You need energy, matter, and space to make a universe. Mass and energy are basically the same thing. So really it's only two ingredients. Every action you perform has a opposite action. An example is digging a hole in order to make a hill. You create a hill and a hole at the same time. The hole is representative of negative energy. cont.
revolution94ful 3 months ago
@lmfao By creating energy, the big bang produced simultaneously the same amount of negative energy. Therefore it canceled it out. If the universe adds up to nothing, you don't need a god to create it. It wouldn't make sense.
revolution94ful 3 months ago
@azzilebosoljah Absolutely nothing, check out my other 2 comments in response. To the specifics of your question, what came before the big bang was absolutely nothing. The justification comes from the fact that the big bang came from one atom, which in turn was made up of subatomic particles, which are observed popping into existance from absolutely nothing. Matter in of itself was basically created from nothing. Sorry, but there is no reason for a god. :) Science trumps a reason for a god. :)

SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy (even in an open system). Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning!

Mogley52 4 months ago
ALL REAL EVOLUTION ( i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.) is the expression, over time, of already existing genes. Evolution is possible only if there’s information (genes) directing it. Only variations of already existing genes are possible, which means only limited evolution and adaptations are possible. Nature has no ability to invent new genes via random mutations caused by random environmental forces. That’s evolutionary faith, not science. Read my article, WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS!
