Normally I don't enjoy movie previews, but if I'd seen this trailer, I know I'd have gone out of my way to see the film in a theater, instead of just on DVD. It is certainly one of the best concert movies ever.

Saw the concert film for the first time in the mid 80's. 30 years and hundreds of concerts later, it still remains to be one of the best shows to memory.

I saw the Stop Making Sense concert live in Berkeley, it was the best show I've ever seen. When the movie came out the same year, people were dancing in the aisles!

Top 3 live shows of all time. The way David Byrne started the show with Psycho Killer.... just accoustic guitar and a tape recorder and they built the band around him song by song was something to behold.

I also like at 1:04 where Tina Weymouth and the girls are dancing to flickering lights. Regrettably, I never saw the movie in the theaters and I never rented it. I always liked the Talking Heads and this coming year, I shall see it because I added this gem to my queue.

The trailer reminds me a lot, in concept, of the Dr. Strangelove trailer, with the intercut word-by-word questions. Probably more than a coincidence - Pablo Ferro, who did the hand-drawn titles for Strangelove, also did them in a very similar style for Stop Making Sense.

Just don't watch the trailer and automatically judge the movie. I did finally get to see this film, and it did not disappoint! Didn't dance for the whole thing, but I did get outta my seat for some of it. Talking Heads were/are sooo amazing. Thanks for the recommendation.
