Well I dunno about you, but I really like twitter, regardless of the return traffic in clicks, I still a get good amount of people subscribing to my YT channel from twitter (15-35) everytime I decide to promote my page, also can make 200-350 new followers on twitter without much trouble where it is almost impossible for me to make the same amount of subscribers in a day with the current amount of traffic I have. Even though its only around 10% of my total engaged traffic, it helps a lot.
One of those people are going to click on my links, and one of them will click on ads. People take Twitter personally and get uptight about it. No need to cancel accounts and get emotional, just put it on auto-pilot and move on. Go back to tried and true marketing methods.
Great video, i just started with Twitter as a means to promote my website. I read an eBook on marketing with Twitter and it was recommended that you answer some questions people have to start off and get some followers.
But how can you find these questions other than searching for keywords and are there any other ways to kick start your Twitter following
I would have to agree with you Lisa for the most part. Although twitter can drive a decent amount of traffic if done properly, I would say that investing too much time on twitter could be a waste. I have something like 23K followers right now....
Twitter brings me so traffic, but it's a small percentage in the overall scheme of things. I love it and would never give it up. I just don't spend a lot of time on it, I use the auto tweet stuff to get my message out.
Hey Lisa, I use Twitter too, that's bring me a lot of traffic to my blog and I follow 2 or 3 people almost but I have a lot of followers. Twitter helped me all the time. I just cannot quit it! It's awesome. Thanks for the video, it is useful!
True Lisa, Guess what I think the excess of automation is bad and that's what is abusing twitter, facebook and blog. 'coz if your blog is automated 6-10 times a day so does your other accounts. Not good.
very informative. Ive been on twitter for a month & its been good for me to market my product. I liked ur time/benefit point. Id be very interested in your thoughts on hip hop basketball.
I must say first, love the hair and glad to see you back in your original recording position! Although your position is never as important as your CONTENT VIDs!
I pray all is well with your arm/wrist injury!
I want to say next, thank you for all youtube vids... I reference you a lot to my family and friends and I pray that you are blessed abundantly!
This particular VID is very informative and helpful! God Bless you!
Hey, Lisa I am new in all this and I am looking for cheap and ok quality web host that offers monthly payments and hosting(if something like that exists) so I can learn 2,3 months about the buisness the hard and cheap way(so i don t need to pay for the entire year hosting yet month by month or every 3 months) and build up content on my page and then transfers my domain to SBI. Any advice?
The big internet marketing gurus led us to believe that getting Twitter followers was just as valuable as getting opt-in email list subscribers. The reality is that Twitter followers aren't really followers at all.
I recently un-followed everyone except those I'm interested in. I focus more on listening and building REAL relationships. What a difference in results!
We often forget the "social" in social media and treat it like a video game score.
I think the best is yet to come for Twitter.
They are cleaning up the spam and adding new features every day.
Besides, its still the best social platform out there in this mobile age.
I never joined twitter cause i think it wont last. My brother has twitter though. My view of twitter is negative because of what you mentioned about the narcissism, I don't think poeple honestly will care about EVERY tweet or even catch it if they would like it.
HI Lisa, thanks for the personal update. I still use Twitter but I do not spend much time on there anymore. I do see a little bit of traffic coming from Twitter, when Twitterfeed posts my new articles. I will stick with it some more. Bless.
Amen, twitter has become a popularity contest. I've actually got to the point where I've deleted some followers who have inappropriate tweets on their twitter. I filter it out as much as possible these days.
Hi, Lisa i just started web marketing and learning from your website. I have not signup for twitter but i follow you on twitter. I agree what you are saying, thank you.
I think that you are right about the usage of twitter. What is it that you want to get out of it and measure that to see if you are getting the desired results. Good video.
i Know a guy who calls himself the twitter king that has made good money from his ebook that talks about how to make money with twitter. He has made some money and he shows how to use it. of course that was a year ago. He has about 30k followers. He breaks it down and shows exactly how to put the right posts to optimize your following. i am not sure if there is money there or not. I am just doing what he said and hopefully will see results. The key is pinpointed traffic. We'll see!
you asked what i think of tweeter?well i tell you what i think of tweeter for me tweeter is a waste of time don't have too much time to follow people.
Definitely agree on this. I see a bunch of people following me and disappearing after two days. When I get new followers I look at their tweets, if it is something I need to know and follow I will follow back. Otherwise, as you said, why do I care about someone selling their car or eating jam for breakfast.
I get some clicks from there and although I started recently I think the result it OK since I tweet mostly my new pages.
The "tactics" remains like yours - not following unless I need it.
I made $500 by writing articles but clickbank still havent sent my cheque, they also have not replied to my 3 emails that I sent them. How am I supposed to receive my cheque? they dont even have a contact phone number...any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks
I agree and understand what you say! Why follow someone that one is not interested in?That's a waste of time! Some of the followers don't even read the content! That's like in blogging, I only subscribe to bloggers whom i find very interesting. Good post.
I think, Lisa, that you are not seeing the positive effect of twitter with so few followers.
I market my twitter and facebook accounts. So the people that follow me and friend me, are the ones that want to follow me. I unfollow people all the time and edit my follows of those who are obviously not responding to my tweets, i.e. big marketers
And, I do see the traffic, from my stats, that come from twitter.
oh sorry I didn't mean to put it in such absolutes.
I do notice something. There are people who market on twitter and they just spam, not saying you do this, I'm just relating a story. they'll post like 5 tweets in a row, all very dry and without any passion.
conversely, I'll think of the best hook for my tweets. I also have studied writing hooks in my blogs too. I see far more response in mine than those other people. People will click my link and give me immediate feedback on twitter
I agree about the spam. But you make a good point about your tweets. What you tweet and how you say it makes a difference. It's good to test and tweak your strategy and that seems to be what you're doing. Good for you! Keep up the good work. :)
I read up on twitter from your previous videos on twitter. The founder fully intended twitter to be very headline like. So it seems he had in mind marketing from the very beginning.
It might also be that since that economy has gotten WORSE, not better [unlike what the govt says] people are more concerned about it. or they are fretting over it :(
sorry about your injury. I pray you're fully healed.
I must say, I try to limit my twitter use. it can become addictive.
Gosh Lisa.. Your spot on and its also the same on Face Book. Your correct and thank you for the video. I'm reading a book and it says to create a list of friends. Then list them in ABC order. ABC being "A" who is responding "B" who sometimes respond and "C" those that are worthy of my time. "D" just pass them by!
I noticed that a few weeks ago, people would follow me and within a few days they were gone if I did not follow them back....with that said I get a LOT of traffic from twitter to my blog. So for now it works.
But I only spend maybe an hour if that on twitter. I use Hootsuite which is awesome!
I have a hard time with twitter because there is to many people tweeting to often and i really dont get to read many of the ones i actually have something in common with. I use some personal and some business tweets but getting repsonce has been difficult. People follow and then drop off so quickly, its confusing. Are they following so i will follow them or do they have an actual interest in what I am doing. I never know with twitter.
i agree with you, you follow ppl that have the same interests and are in the same business as you, makes sense. but, its also good to interact with others besides just marketing your webistes.
Twitter has been fantastic for my sites. My visitors are interacting with me a LOT more on Twitter so I can see what they do and don't like. Have also become friends with owners of other sites on Twitter and now we mention each other a LOT on on sites because of this. Have also got a LOT of new visitors to my site who found me on twitter.
Hi Lisa, Maybe its just me but ive never been a fan of twitter or facebook, like you say i dont want to know about personal lives i have my own to look after :) Thanks for posting :)

You can follow those people, hence they get more followers - Not so you get a follow back.
And then you can put the people who tweet about internet marketing in lists

Hi Lisa
Many use automated software to send out their tweets a few every hour while their out working their day job...they're not even there.
I get very little back from twitter sometimes I connect with a few people but not often.
Twitter on the scale of 1-10 I give it a 4
