It's a lot deeper than that but we only have a few hundred characters. Also, son does not always = child if we're going to argue semantics. It is imperative to look at the Bible in context, as a whole, not picking and choosing what we want to hear when it fits our argument. I would encourage you to research that verse and that period of time, not use it as a weapon

You're Matthew verse is Jesus quoting the OT, again, showing us it's importance but at the same time freeing us of it's consequences.

It's a lot deeper than that but we only have a few hundred characters. Also, son does not always = child if we're going to argue semantics. It is imperative to look at the Bible in context, as a whole, not picking and choosing what we want to hear when it fits our argument. I would encourage you to research that verse and that period of time, not use it as a weapon

We ALL pick and choose from the Bible, including people who aren't aware they're doing it. Darkness can not exist in the presence of light, sin can not exist in the presence of God. That is (very briefly) why the OT is there. The OT is there because we need to see that sin cannot exist in the presence of a perfect, holy God. Jesus doesn't say kill children because he abolished the law. "For the law was given by Moses, [but] grace and truth came by Jesus Christ." You're Matthew verse is Jesus quoting the OT, again, showing us it's importance but at the same time freeing us of it's consequences.

I just watched a documentary on the witch children of Nigeria. This woman is a con artist and opportunist. She doesn't care who she hurts. She said this film was like Harry Potter, but Harry Potter doesn't tie itself to religion. I find it hard to believe that people believe anything they see in movies, but they do. God help us all.
