  • what kind of yarn you use to tie the bow?

  • you're hot

  • wow..thanks for this video!

i just spent an hour looking at amillion vids and had trouble following most of them!

yours was very easy and simple..but i didnt sew..still came out great!

  • this is the best beginners pinwheel hairbow video i have seen on youtube yet and i have been searching since june awesome you get 2 thumbs up

  • e6000 glue works awesome to attach bows to clips/headbands or anything... and all you need is a TINY dab :) just fyi... :)

  • how much ribbon did you use to make this ribbon?

  • @JessaBailey Thanks Lady! Imma be rich if only people knew how easy to make accessories like hair bows. Anyhow I have a question I use fabric(e.g old jeans,T-shirts or just store bought fabric) make my bows and the jean fabric sticks out on the side over time like it's comig a loose. What's the best way to seal fabric?

  • @irrneone CONGRATS! Umm I have no idea on the fabric question because I only use ribbons...sorry...maybe fabrictac or something like that...GOOD LUCK!

  • @irrneone Hi. You can use Fray Check, it's like a glue that seals the edges. You can also stitch along the edge of the fabric and allow some of it to fray, but will stop at the stitching. I personally like the frayed look :) HTH

    -Steph

  • @irrneone You might try heat sealing it. All you do is take a lighter and brush the flame to the end of the ribbon. It will feel kind of hard at the end. Make sure not to let it catch on fire :) I hope that's what you were looking for!

  • @irrneone I would try heat sealing with a lighter or seeing if you could run the wood burner across the end...good luck!

  • I made the biw and it turns ou great=D

But i still need some more practice=P

Thank you for the great vid of yours

  • Thanks so much everyone! I love making these videos!

  • Your video is an amazing help!! Especially cause you let us know lengths from different ribbon widths :) Thank you so much!

  • My mom can make bows like that

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH...I just got fabric from HobbyLobby and I am looking forward to making bows!!

  • I can't ever seem to get the end flap things they always seem to go to the same

Side... And could you go a bit slower..

Please HELP I really wanna learn..!

  • thanks for this you are very good at wat you do and helped me make very pretty bows

  • Another dumb question, but I used hot glue to attach my bow to my clip (I line the clip with ribbon for a nice, neat look) and the ribbon keeps coming off my clip! Are you sure hot glue is the best way to go or is my hot glue old (is that possible?)>

  • @markherrmann Make sure you are using a high temp glue gun and glue. I have tried it with low temp and they will come right apart! But I have never had one come lose when using high temp glue and gun! :)

  • Such a clear tutorial! Thank you!

  • @annavery1 that is suppose to be a thumbs up sorry! I clicked to fast! Thanks for commenting!

  • How many inches do you use in this tutorial? I've watched over and over again and I don't seem to catch it. Thanks.

  • @megagirly check out the info I typed under the video... :)

  • Clear, great visual, awesome video thanks ;)

  • WOW!!!!!!!! This is the best tutorial EVER!!! i have tried sooo many tutorials and none have worked!! This one has!!!!!! Thank u sooo much!!!!

  • I love this bow!!! awesome tutorial!

  • When I attach my bow to the clip, it's too thick and the clip doesn't close all the way. How do I fix this so that it lies flat? I am using a 1.5" ribbon and attaching with a knot in the middle.

  • super super cute!!

  • i cant count how many times ive restarted this video. im 7/8th in ribbon... and 16in...i dont understand the folding part.. you seem to have another layer or something... im so confused. im not using the 4in fold because it deff doesnt work that way... :/

lol im havin ISSUES with this one! grrr!

  • Can you explain to me howto make the knot on top of the bow ?

  • @jacksonava12 sure just take a small 5-6" long piece or ribbon (the bigger the width of ribbon the bigger the knot) just loop it around like you are making a knot....

  • @jacksonava12 sure just take a small 5-6 inches long piece or ribbon (the bigger the width of ribbon the bigger the knot) just loop it around like you are making a knot....

  • Can you explain to me hos to make the knot on top of the bow ?

  • Okay so I have a question. I have seen and read different tutorials on bow making but the one thing I notice keeps getting left out is how to put it on the barrett??? I am just learning how to make bows and I have no idea what to do with this bow after it is made to get it to go on the barrett or alligator clip. Please Help!!!

  • @dtucker1126 Hon thats easy! Hot glue the bottom to a barrette and then attach a knot with hot glue to the top and wrap ends around to back and secure with hot glue to the underneath part of the barrette...

  • i know this might be a dumb question but where can i buy the ribbon?

  • @verot909 lol its not a stupid question! That dot ribbon came from Hobby Lobby in the floral ribbons, it had wire in it but you just pull the wire out and then make the bow :)

  • Do you use any special thread? Mine always breaks :-(

  • @kaylalee2 yes I use a carpet and button thread! It cost a little more but you can get it at Hobby Lobby and any sewing store I believe. Its made by Coats & Clark...The one I use is on a turquoise colored spool and comes in all different thread colors! Good Luck!

  • On 5/8 in. ribbons make your folds around 3 in., 7/8in. and 1.5 in. ribbons you can do folds on 4 in. or more...what ever size you want the finished bow to be i.e. 4 in bow folds on 4in, etc. good luck!

  • Awesome thank you!!

  • on the smaller ribbons where do i make the first fold? like on the 5/8 ribbon with 16 inches.. please help..........

  • THANK YOU for your easy instructions! I've gotten sick of looking for instructions, only to find them too difficult to understand or people want to charge for it. (If I could afford to purchase floral hair bows, I wouldn't be looking for directions!) You did a great job explaining. Thanks again, very much!

  • Thank You...I love you your videos....you make it so easy.

  • I want to thank you so very much for being here. I have tried and tried for months to make pinwheel bows. I can't tell you how many instructions I have downloaded and ribbon that I have wasted. I ran across your video last night. I decided to try it just to see. It came out PERFECT first time!!!!! You are my hero. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Can't wait to try the other one!!!!! God bless.

  • @Ousunshine325 you are quite welcome goodluck! Find me on facebook BrazzleDazzleBoutique

  • Sorry for the delayed response! To all of you that just commented all the wonderful thank yous! You are very welcome!

@LOLbieberfan55 in the video I mention the lenth and width of the ribbon...I will look it up if you need me to but I myself just eyeball it since I do them so often...

@jugglealettesonja1987 to get the tails out then just make sure they stick out a little higher than the loops

  • Jessa, this is the best tutorial on creases! I like to use needle & thread, but all the others I've seen make it seem as if you have to gather it up with ribbon or floral wire, which has just not worked out for me. This makes it much more secure. Great work! Now to watch your others..

  • jessa...i am doing well on your style of bow making. the problem i am having is the ends arnt wanting to stay out of the loops. How would I go about fixing this?

  • they are very very verypretty

  • Hi Jessica!

Beautiful Bow. I have been looking how to make these adorable little bows for my daughter's hair. What do you think would be the best way to attach it to a little clip for a baby's hair? Some of the barretts I've purchased snag and pull her hair when I take them out of her hair. Have you had any sucess making baby hair bows? Thanks!

  • Thank you!!!!!

  • You are very welcome! ~Jessa

  • What's the difference between this bow and the boutique stile bow? If anyone nows please let me know.... Thank u!!!

  • a pinwheel bow is flat looking where as a boutique style bow is fluffy...

  • I usually make my bows a different way, so when I watched this video I thought it was a weird way to make this style of bow and that it would be harder just because of the different folding method. After reading some of the comments I decided to try it. I'm going to make my bows this way now!! Seriously so easy, and my bow came out looking so perfect! I'm so happy I saw this video, and thank-you!

  • I would say yes, this is normal grosgrain ribbon so I am not sure which type of ribbon you are asking about...The only type I do not care to use with this style is satin because it slides. Good Luck!

    ~Jessa

  • You are very welcome I hope you have fun!

    ~Jessa

  • can you show me how to to make a pinwheel bow with one tail in the front and one in the back

  • I will be getting some more done in the near future! I took a vacation last week and now I will be playing catch up for a month lol! Thanks! ~Jessa

  • Hi great tutorial. I wanted to know are you using regular sewing thread or button sewing thread?

  • what's the lighter for?

  • You can use a lighter to "seal" the ends of the ribbon so that the ribbon doesn't fray or start coming apart.

  • Jessa what type of ribbon are you using here or which do you recommend to learn on

  • GROSGRAIN ribbon!! Its the easiest to manipulate...and you can get all kinds of prints and solids...good luck!

  • I followed the video along while I was making my very FIRST bow. Didn't look anything like yours but I"ll keep practicing. Thank you for doing such a great job teaching us guppies!!!

  • You are very welcome! Keep practicing you will get it! ~Jessa
