I'm having problems with mkvtovob it says muxing failed, i have tried all the updates for my laptop. it used to work before but not now.......HELP ME PLEASE
Good tutorial, thanks! I don't think that CPU is the relevant factor to make de/muxing fast. In that case it is rather about hard disk speed. Anyway, tsMuxeR is blazing fast, imho.
and its the same, I can't even get the video to load up when I click add files, and click on my file - literally nothing happens. No loading, no error message, just nothing shows up.
It may be my specific .mkv file is fucked, but I can play it on my comp with VLC and it works fine (besides a bit of obvious lag). its a 4.25 GB file....any suggestions??
I downloaded the program but when I click add and select my .mkv video, it gives me an error message saying "error: can't open stream: "video file name.mkv"
anybody had this problem or know how to get around it?
@SinaProductions Transfering to a memory stick is the easiest option. But I personally use a program called MKV2VOB now instead of this one. It may be possible to do what you need though, unfortunately I dont have an answer for you.
with mkv to vob always make sure that transcode is set to always. sometimes it doesn't want to load all the way. also if you dont get audio click encode DTS
I'm guessing that you mean that the file doesn't show on the PS3 but the usb device does. What I did was to make a folder in the device called "VIDEO" and put my sub-folders and videos in there. Then the PS3 recognizes the folder name and your videos will show. Hope this is your problem
I used the new version of convertXtoDVD when I converted some MKV tv shows to DVD. It works great. Has lots of useful settings to make the picture and sound great.
If you use MKV files, pm me or go to the website link on my channel
It links to a very special site that lets you upload MKV and stream like youtube using the Divx Plus Web Player.
@TheDazzbox Google MKV2VOB, this program would do what you want, I have since moved off this program and MKV2VOB does a much better job, look on here (youtube) for videos on how to set it up properly.
"If you are planning to stream the movie from an external hard drive to your PS3, then the audio codec must be in AC3 format. If your movie file is mkv with DTS then tsMuxeR does NOT convert the audio for you."
mkv to vob is an great program to use. Butt their is one draw back if your doing 1080p hd movies it takes an wile and uses you cpu an lot.I have an q6600 and it uses all the cores.
Now how do you get this file onto a DVD-R so you can pop it into the blu-ray player? I'd rather have these on disc than have to carry a thumb drive around.
just use multiAVCHD .. complete tool for converting MKV -- Blu-Ray compatible format... and works with PS3 or something...
if the video codec is (AVC1/H.264 or MPEG2 formats) thenyou wont have to wait for long... the process will take 2mins long... with Memu on it... preety amazing cause its really cool.. i can compile my own HD-DVD videos .. and most of it.. it allows subtitles (softsub only) to be display
Shit my bad, didnt read description. I tried streaming the vid from PC to ps3 and that DONT work, but down on the extern harddrive, it works perfectly. Thank you very very much for your vid man. 5 stars;)
ok now it works (apparently it won't work if you try to convert more than one file at once which is a real pain but anyways) I put the audio to 4.1 and i'm still not hearing any sound
FRIENDS USERS OF PLAYSTATION 3 , NOTE THAT YOU MUST CHANGE THE AUDIO TO 4.1 FROM 5.1 IN ORDER TO GET SOUND!!!!! CAUSE M2TS DOESN'T SUPPORT 5.1 IN PLAYSTATION 3. I WROTE IN CAPITALS SO YOU CAN SEE THAT , IT IS MAJOR IMPORTANT TO DO THAT
Does every video have to be 4.1, whatever it is in the first place because some videos I have converted with this, even when I put it to 4.1, there is no sound on my PS3, could you explain why this may be, please? Thanks in advance, Elliot.
i get some tracks not recognized. this track was i ignored (mainfile.m2ts) i select 720 and dts-HD english as audio. i then do msts and add the 4.1 thing u sed to the h.264 file. i then hit start and get no errors but when i play the file after it has no video (not evan with MatroskaSplitter) in fact this program only says i dnt have a vid sourse when i right click it in the task bar. any thoughts???
Im follwing the video but i cant select to change the level to 4.1 !!! The option stays in grey so cant change it !! Any ideas ?? Please help ........
im usign this program but it keeps stoping half way thru (trying atm to do just video then get teh englsih aduio and remux them i gues....) if that oesnt work then im shit ouita luck
i've downloaded a film from a torrent and it's come in about 20 rar files and a dozen or so other files which don't have an extension. How do I merge these?
Secondly, when I try to unpack a rar file, it eventually says I don't have enough space, that only NTSC supports files bigger than 4GB.
How do I get round this and how did you manage it?
:( No one really answered my question. When i upload a video to the program i don't get what he gets at 0:35. All i get is the video tab, but no sound. And incase it helps, the video is a 30 minute episode downloaded of the internet.
sorry to hear all of the troubles from users. I dont work for the company that created this program and cannot help anyone with their problems as they have yet to hinder my experience. Try emailing them, their address's are in the about tab on the program.
anyways, i came to see if anyone was having the same problems as me, tsMuxeR is sending me an error report every time i try n and open an mkv file saying "cant find tsMuxeR or depended library" and another one directly after saying "cant detect stream type" somtimes it will pick up my video file but the audio track is always missing. now usally i would just go use GOTsent or mkv2vob but not a simgle one of them is working!!! WTF!! is going on. anyone having problems similar to this??
I cant get any sound. I tried the 5.1 option, but that wont work. Everytime i choose the file the program says " Some tracks not recognized. This track was ignored" The little area where its suppose to show the video, sound, and subtitles only shows the video.
thanks i was having no sound either.i need an idea how to get this huge blu-ray movie on my ps3. any ideas? i don't want to split the files that's gay.
umm...since your PS3 only support the file system fat32 and not NTFS ...it will not accept files bigger than 4gig. IF IM RIGHT. dont trust me, im not 100% sure. I just think! And i thinks it GAY!
I guess you will have to split it up if you wana watch it from your ps3....its not a big deal realy, is it? Just press triangle and choose play all from the folder or w/e it says.
here's the thing i used muxer for dark knight and i left the original settings on 4.1. and it came out perfect. now wall-e has the same exact settings as dark knight does and i use default settings and 5.1 and there is no sound. it frustrating the fuck out of me right now.
if you really REALLY want to watch them from your external you can fromat it to NTFS, and install the linux yellowdog OS and yellowdog will be able to recognize it but be careful, you cant reformat it back to fat32 and your external wont be recognizable when on you ps3 OS
yes, there is a disc option on Tsmuxer, it is where you choose the muxing. Im not sure if it is better to choose this option for a disc or just use a dvd as a data disc with the M2TS file on it.
will the ps3 be able to read files that are in M2TS muxing or create bluray disc which ive tried and it worked but the picture qaulity of the bluray 720p film was abit blurry and less detail. if i use create bluray disc it in a avhd or avch what ever they call it. WHat would you use in those options man. P.S Wicked video by the way really helped me to learn to do this 10/10
the ps3 can read M2TS video files fine, without any quality loss what so ever. However for the matter of transferring the media over to the ps3 is where most people hit a bump. (read the MORE INFO tab to the right of the video)
I got a solution for every whos getting troubles with the sound.A dts file would not be able to run by the ps3.only AC3 file can do so.thats the reason you either wanna convert it to an AC3 file or or to use the program mkv2vob which will do it for you.
Video works, but I don't get any sound? What am i doing wrong? I changed all the settings like in the video. Set it to 4.1. but just don't hear anything.
i have dedicated a large amount of time to this. if you are playing your movies off of your actual ps3 hardrive(internal HDD) then it is possible. you just have to use a media server like tversity or a file server like red kawa file server to get it on your internal HDD. (note:the media server takes about 2 1/2 hours to copy about 4GiB) but if your trying to get it on an external HDD your wasting your time. the ps3 wont pick it up unless its fat32
hi there, thanks for this great vid. i have followed the steps. moved both files into a thumb drive and pluged it into my ps3. i have two files a .meta and a .m2ts file. when i plug it into ps3 it plays the video but with no sound. the image is perfect btw. any ideas where im gng wrong?.. any help would be welcomed. thanks..
I've been fuckin around with shity mkv converters for the past 3 days this program is great the audio and video quality remain nearly untouched props for the video
hey went through the process and it worked perfectly but like you said in your note the file size was just to big. so i went to the split and cut tab and was given a few options. split by duration or file size. what do you prefer, duration or file size? and if when done will it be in 4-5 seperate parts to where ill have to watch it in different parts instead of all at once? and if thats the case is there anything you know that will put it together?? thankzs :)
say that you have an 7GB file. since a fat32 memory stick, only recognises single files that are 4gb or smaller it would be best to split this file into something along the lines of 3.9GB this will obviously split a file (of any size) into parts of 3.9GB, since our video is 7 GB this will make the file into two parts which isnt a total inconvenience.
OR
I also have heard that placing the "single" file into a folder and copying that over to a memory stick works fine.
yha, well the file size is just over 4GB but i really dont want to split it up. ive been doing all kinds of research, if you use the right software you can reformat your hardrive to somthing that'l act like an NTFS but will still be FAT32, so its compatible with windows and my ps3 and i can copy any file size i want, as long as the space is there. but still trying to work out the program, its a lil tricky
its working...it does not transoced anything in image or sound...so its the real deal...but i need help on subtitles...it does not put the subtitles at all.....can u help me??thx
there is a subtitles tab on the program to edit the placement and font e.t.c. on the program so i know at least that it supports them. But i have yet to use them. Are you sure that the media you are using has subtitle data on the file?
If so and still no success, try having a seperate subtitle file in the same folder with the same name and hopefully the program will recognise it.
If this fails i suggest trying forums or their website for assisstance. Sorry i could not be more helpful.
Can i do the same thing and burn them to a normal dvd or dual dvd if over 4.7gigs i can only find tsmuxer 1.3.4 the smartlabs website is down or not avalable i dont know why. i noticed an option saying create bluray disc but on ts i cant click on the option as its disselected. Please help me PM please thanks in advanced
I got did iron man. The mkv file was 8.37 gigs. I did this and I got a part 1 and part 2. The part 1 is huge like 8.3 something gigs and part 2 is like 300-400mb. I want to burn it on a dual layer to play on my ps3 but when I try to burn part 1 and 2 image burn says its to big. Do I need part 2 or is part 1 the only thing I need to put on the dual layer so I can watch on the ps3.

will the ps3 be able to read files that are in M2TS muxing or create bluray disc which ive tried and it worked but the picture qaulity of the bluray 720p film was abit blurry and less detail. if i use create bluray disc it in a avhd or avch what ever they call it. WHat would you use in those options man. P.S Wicked video by the way really helped me to learn to do this 10/10
sixdaysontherun 3 years ago
the ps3 can read M2TS video files fine, without any quality loss what so ever.

Thanks for the heads up. mkv2vob worked perfectly ot convert the DTS sound to AC3. Cheers.

Video works, but I don't get any sound? What am i doing wrong? I changed all the settings like in the video. Set it to 4.1. but just don't hear anything.
Sokramnas 3 years ago
Are you sure that the profile should be 4.1 ? I left at 5.1 for Planet Earth and PS3 plays it.
an3urysm 3 years ago
im just going by what i have heard, if higher values are also handled then go for it.

i have a big blu-ray file any ideas how to get it on my ps3? i don't want to split the files either.
ninhbac04 3 years ago
i have dedicated a large amount of time to this. if you are playing your movies off of your actual ps3 hardrive(internal HDD) then it is possible. you just have to use a media server like tversity or a file server like red kawa file server to get it on your internal HDD. (note:the media server takes about 2 1/2 hours to copy about 4GiB) but if your trying to get it on an external HDD your wasting your time. the ps3 wont pick it up unless its fat32

Im not sure what is happening with the video files from the last 3 comment posters.
I have nothing to do with the production of this program and have not found this error yet myself, so do not know how to fix it.
Try contacting there website.

hey went through the process and it worked perfectly but like you said in your note the file size was just to big. so i went to the split and cut tab and was given a few options. split by duration or file size. what do you prefer, duration or file size? and if when done will it be in 4-5 seperate parts to where ill have to watch it in different parts instead of all at once? and if thats the case is there anything you know that will put it together?? thankzs :)
zax808 3 years ago
how big is the file size?
say that you have an 7GB file. since a fat32 memory stick, only recognises single files that are 4gb or smaller it would be best to split this file into something along the lines of 3.9GB this will obviously split a file (of any size) into parts of 3.9GB, since our video is 7 GB this will make the file into two parts which isnt a total inconvenience.
OR
I also have heard that placing the "single" file into a folder and copying that over to a memory stick works fine.
360RapineCarnage 3 years ago
yha, well the file size is just over 4GB but i really dont want to split it up. ive been doing all kinds of research, if you use the right software you can reformat your hardrive to somthing that'l act like an NTFS but will still be FAT32, so its compatible with windows and my ps3 and i can copy any file size i want, as long as the space is there. but still trying to work out the program, its a lil tricky

its working...it does not transoced anything in image or sound...so its the real deal...but i need help on subtitles...it does not put the subtitles at all.....can u help me??thx
ellan0 3 years ago
there is a subtitles tab on the program to edit the placement and font e.t.c. on the program so i know at least that it supports them.

Thanks

alyboi 3 years ago
when you play the file on your ps3, does it say it is corrupt? ps3 cant find it on your memory stick? or the file plays but with a black screen??
360RapineCarnage 3 years ago
i done it with mkv2vob but the video image lags in some parts i use tversity to acccess them from ma pc to ps3
alyboi 3 years ago
sounds like it is the original image/file of the media you are trying to play.
either the film has lag on the file which i cannot help you with
or
maybe you should try copying it to your hardrive rather than streaming this could be causing the lag.
otherwise sorry dude, i cant be much more help
