I always believed that artists like these were white because most white people at this era and racist whites even today called rock, soul, r+b, hiphop, jazz, swing, blues and funk 'NIGGA music' but then indulged in in and even supported wannabe acts (elvis) to perform the genres. Confusing. #Goodfellas
WHY? Is there so much animosity here with HATE? That is what is wrong with the world and Music is international and should bring us together like it did in the 60's & 70's
Look at Woodstock 500,000 people and no one fighting over who was singing...
I can't help myself. I adore this song but everytime I hear it I can't help but think; "What have u got me on the 'pay no mind list'?" "No, no, tommy, i thought u said 'i'm all right, spider'." "i am all right u aren't all right." "i thought u said - i thought-" "ah-dah, ah-duh, u mumbling stuttering little prick." and later on he kills the kid. instant classic. i pray to joe pesci becuz he's one mean little muhfucker...and he can get things done.
NO! Delores La La Brooks was the Daughter of a Full Blooded American Indian Mother and an African American Father. Still one of the Greatest of Phil Spector's Girl Group Singers, and Singing today in Oldies Concerts and PBS Shows. Thanks!
@rosebuddy47 Three girls were all of African American Decent but Delores La La Brooks third from the left in first photo Her Mother was full-blooded Native American and Father was of African American Decent. Delores Brooks still sings today at Oldies Reunions, and PBS Concert Shows. She is one great lady... Sir David
and then he kissed me...oh how much did i want to kiss each one of these lovely ladies...when they sang this lovely song...i wondered if i could ever kiss them like they have never been kissed before???...and truly almost make them cry...and then he kissed me....
These three girls were great!! One of the best girl groups ever! I was a teen then and those were great times to listen to the radio. When every song really WAS 'your' favorite!
Come on folks, if you understand the times and the era, these female group singers are wonderful. No computers, no high tech, just pure joy. no fancy over the top solos, some of which totally destroy a song and it becomes about the singer (even if highly skilled) and not the song and group effort. Almost all of these "girl groups" were great to listen to. And it's not about the soundtrack to a movie. They would not choose these recordings and groups for movies if they weren't already great.
Great song! I think of Adventures In Babysitting everytime I hear this song, too! LMAO Makes me happy! Love that Elisabeth Shue! Can not wait to see her as a cast member on CSI. Hopefully it will be good.

Well he walked up to me And he asked me if I wanted to dance He looked kinda nice And so I said I might take a chance When he danced he held me tight And when he walked me home that night All the stars were shining bright And then he kissed me Each time I saw him I couldn't wait to see him again I wanted to let him know That he was more than a friend I didn't know just what to do So I whispered I love you And he said that he loved me too And then he kissed me

Phil Spector - Great, maybe the greatest of all producers. He wore a button that said "Bring back mono". Cracked everybody up.
mrsticks28 2 months ago
They were the days when the likes of Spector could write songs; fabulous girls could actually hold a tune and sing!
And yes no computers, some instruments in the studio and the voice as instrument.
And yes, I remember Elizabeth Shue busting onto the screen, dancing on the bed miming the song.
It was just great.
