  • @Farmlandsfallfan LaLa was born 6/23/47, THKM was released 9/63, but still may have not been kissed, after all it was a different time then. :-)

  • In what year was this beautiful song first released?

  • @diuga1in the 60,s i guess

  • @greendolphin100 I ned to know the specific year, friend...I will ask the person who posted it.

  • @diuga1 This hit, charted #6, came out 14 SEP 1963, on Philles 115, b/w Brother Julius.

Writers were Ellie Greenwich, Jeff Barry, & Phil Spector. :I:

I wish to share this one. Thanks for posting.

  • Goodfellas.

  • +goodfellas

  • better singing here than in the live performance...

  • KISS made a cover of this song in Love Gun...

  • feel the romance...it is so good a song and a feeling....

  • These three girls were great!! One of the best girl groups ever! I was a teen then and those were great times to listen to the radio. When every song really WAS 'your' favorite!

  • Oldies Live Forever!

  • Phil Spector - Great, maybe the greatest of all producers. He wore a button that said "Bring back mono". Cracked everybody up.

  • They were the days when the likes of Spector could write songs; fabulous girls could actually hold a tune and sing!

And yes no computers, some instruments in the studio and the voice as instrument.

And yes, I remember Elizabeth Shue busting onto the screen, dancing on the bed miming the song.

    It was just great.

  • Come on folks, if you understand the times and the era, these female group singers are wonderful. No computers, no high tech, just pure joy. no fancy over the top solos, some of which totally destroy a song and it becomes about the singer (even if highly skilled) and not the song and group effort. Almost all of these "girl groups" were great to listen to. And it's not about the soundtrack to a movie. They would not choose these recordings and groups for movies if they weren't already great.

  • @Timlinthomasp good job well said

  • "Everytime I come here... every time you two! Dont you work?!"

  • @SMurray1011 lmao!

  • Thumbs up if you know this song from "Adventures In Babysitting"

  • From 1:47 to 2:03 = Genius.

  • Yes some black can sound normal lol

  • @mauriceshoup normal? not sure if I'm okay with what you said?

  • @mauriceshoup wow "some Black" can sound normal? Honey half of the music that you like more than likely was inspired or introduced by Black ppl. No matter the genre. Thanks.

  • @DeltaAce06 TRUE THAT

    WHITES DONT KNOW

  • @lakerstekkenn What the???? I am white, I know.... I wasn't even born when this song was out.... don't make generalisations....

  • @mauriceshoup your an idiot!

  • GOODFELLAS!!!!!!!!!

  • Back in the day when you DIDN"T feel like shoving this world up someone's ASS!

  • @townkevin59 Well Said Sir. Good luck to you.

  • GOODFELLAS

  • Well he walked up to me And he asked me if I wanted to dance He looked kinda nice And so I said I might take a chance When he danced he held me tight And when he walked me home that night All the stars were shining bright And then he kissed me Each time I saw him I couldn't wait to see him again I wanted to let him know That he was more than a friend I didn't know just what to do So I whispered I love you And he said that he loved me too And then he kissed me
  • reminds me of mom she always danced to this.

  • I can't help but think of Adventures In Babysitting, when I hear this song. I love this song! :)

  • cunt...................... to all the idiots, that dont know good music!!! im 33, and this was one of my song this year in june 2011 !!! i wasnt old enuff to hear this song first time round, but i know good music, and i had it as one of our wedding songs when we was signing our register!!

  • @Rubberdinghyrapids Cunt? Relax. Thanks for posting your response to a classic.

  • All eras have some great music, but not all of them contain as much soul as the Motown era. It was music that took you somewhere, even if you never got up from your chair.

  • damn........

  • Oldies Live Forever!

  • an era of truely decent music, I especially liked the female vocalists of the 50's and 60's, back then they just wanted to sing and they were classy, unlike today how most of them are trying to be little pop divas and beauty queens, not to mention their music doesn't have much to say.

  • Gosh, this is REAL rock 'n' Roll. Makes me wanna shuffle my feet and clap my hands. Gets into my soul. Moves me. I feel good about it. Rock 'n' roll, my son...

  • La La Brooks has stated numerous times that Darlene Love was never, ever a Crystal.

  • awwww superb CLASSIC

  • On this original recording there were only three... Delores LaLa Brooks,

    Barbara Alston, and Darlene Love

  • I always replay that scene from "Goodfellas" with this tune. They play off each other so well

  • God I Love "LaLa's" Voice!!

One Of The Best Girl Groups On This Planet!!

  • one of the greatest girl groups of the era.

  • Henry.. What do you do ? ?

  • The hard-driving percussion and the "sassy" delivery of the lyrics make this song one of the TRUE CLASSICS....

What line could be more powerful than " I knew that he was mine, so I gave him all the love that I had ..." ? DAMN, I LOVE IT !!!

  • @doowopit i know, just kidding ,,especially black girls used to wear wigs ,,but jus like you said .....was the fashion and you know what??/they looks great!!!!!

  • La la was and still is great.Wonderful performance by La LA on PBS.

  • please don't tell me that this is Darlene Love actually singing just dilutes the Crystals impact makes them become glass!

  • There is no doubt, the 1960s were the premium years for great sounds that will always be classics. Also, people were free! Not so many restrictions caused by over population, and business greed, causing unemployment.

  • I love them to me the lineup doesn't matter

  • The only era's of music worth listening to are the 60's and 70's they can never be beaten just awesome !
