VF103 that are known as the Jolly Rogers. According to wikipedia VF nor VFA 103 were a part of CSG 11 so although the Nimitz is the carrier portrayed in the movie I'm not sure that it is the actual ship that is filmed. Awsome movie though, one of my favourites!!! I can't get enough of the the scene where the F14's do the fly-by on the Zero's... Absoulutely classic!!!!

The Sluggers of VF-103 were re-designated as the Jolly Rogers, as it was decided that this legendary squadron shouldn't be allowed to just go away completely. (although there is a bit of controversy about that, look it up)
But it was the actual Nimitz and the Jolly Rogers in the Final Countdown (VF-84 was a part of Carrier Airwing 8)
