  • i remember seeing this on animal planet

  • LET THEM HYBRID and create a GIANT....

  • @chesleycareystar sometimes things go wrong with hybrids.... like they die early

  • there used to be a video where a croc and gator met, there were no fight. But it was still amazing to see the two come across each other face to face, the croc was trying to pick the fight. The gator was telling it to back off, so then they went they're seperate ways. It was a nice video To bad it's not here anymore :(

  • This guy is freakin retarded! Its already been proven that adult alligaotrs have pound for pound stronger bite forces then crocodiles. The only reason the crocodile smash the tomato was because the baby crocodile had sharper teeth then the baby alligator, also the baby crocodile looked bigger then the alligator alswell. Try that with adults and you will see how stupid this guy is.

  • @2000mattking ok we will. alligators do in fact have a stronger bite pound for pound. however, if 2 specimens of the same size were to do a test like this, the croc would win

  • @Cheesetoon At the same size or pound for pound (Same thing), a alligator can give a much larger force then a crocodile. However, because species of crocodile like american crocodiles grow larger then alligators, their bite force is higher just because they are bigger.

  • @2000mattking alligator has a stronger bite pound for pound. the croc has a stronger bite in general

  • the croc has the biggest bite out of any animale in the world

  • The alligator's tomato wasn't ripe..

  • and croc are bigger than gator

  • croc win gator and eat gator

  • Yep! Crocodiles have a stronger bite force. And they're bigger and more aggressive.

  • aligators are bigger and crocodiles are smaller and more aggresive

  • @WVVVVVVVVVVVWWWWWWWW Actually, a saltwater crocodile grows way bigger than an American alligator.

  • The alligator obviously didn't try to bite. I can crush a tomato with 2 fingers and a baby gator can't even break the skin?! How the hell would it even kill anything? To make this test accurate you would need adult creatures and a pressue guage.

  • @Stevofxx your fingers has lesser area, so u dont need to apply bigger force. listen carefully rather than watching picture motion

  • this test is extremely inaccurate because Its proven alligators have a stronger bite even though crocodiles are more aggressive and it said crocs are bigger but there are many croc species and that only applies to some

  • @camgatorman1998 It's not proven. They tested with adult animals too and the croc still bite down harder.

  • @camgatorman1998 Thank you. Alligators have a stronger bite! Obviously the gator wasn't biting full force due to it's nature isn't near as aggressive as a croc. I GUARANTEE if a gator did try to bite through this, it could easily smash it up. Seriously, you have to be dyslexic to believe that it tried and didn't even break the skin, the width of the jaw even has a stronger bite too. Not accurate test at all. Alligators are proven to bite stronger pound for pound. Suck it up.

  • Let's see them try this with a black caiman of the same size. Just for grits and giggles.

  • They didn't use the same tomato maybe one tomato was softer you have to use a pressure guage and place it in the back of there mouths then you would see who has the stronger bite also if you notice the tomato is farther back in the crocodiles mouth the farther you go back the stronger the force

  • @spahnman thats because the alligator cant fit it in its mouth and it wont matter anyway croc wins everytime

  • what is bigger nile croc or australian saltwater?

  • @braytex the largest nile crocs can be 20 ft long but the biggest saltwaters can be 29 feet

  • @sychoboy12345 Gustave is still my fave croc

  • that guy is like 'HAHA mines better!'

  • croc was on his shit

  • This segment has always annoyed the hell out of me. Gators, pound-for-pound, have the stronger bite. They're just not as aggressive as crocs, so of course the croc is going to have the more violent response when you throw something in its mouth. The logic they use is pretty laughable too. Narrower jaw focuses the bite force? I suppose that means gharials have stronger bites than either of them, huh? Gators have specialized to crush hard-shelled turtles, while crocs are more generalized.

  • @InfernoRodan uhh... noo a croc has the harder bite and is more aggressive a crocs bite is 20% stronger then a gators..

  • @ausomdude 20% huh? Care to back that number up with an actual respectable source?

  • @InfernoRodan the logic doesn't sound laughable to me. when they were talking about bite pressure, narrow jaws would focus the bite force because pressure = force/area. So less area means more pressure. Chop a tomato with a knife, and then try using the same amount of force to chop it with a blunt piece of wood

  • @chaumonstr I'm well aware of this. It's a basic rule of physics, after all. But the way they're applying it is completely inept. Again, following their logic, a gharial should have a stronger bite than either a gator or a croc. But that obviously is not the case.

  • ^ con't

Also, when dealing with jaws, width has less effect on the pressure that they can exert than length does. Because they're hinges, force is exerted more effectively closer to the back of the jaw. The farther from the joint you get, the less force can be exerted. So shorter jaws are better at biting harder. You can actually try this yourself at home: try to crush something hard with a pair of needlenose pliers, and then try with a pair of normal flat-nose pliers.

  • @InfernoRodan The gharial's jaws are thin from the tip to the end. Therefore, they don't have strong bite forces. However, the crocodile's jaws are thicker at the back and thinner at the tip. Furthermore, you say that alligators are known to kill turtles. Well, saltwater crocodiles are known to kill much larger turtles. A full-grown alligator's bite can reach over 2000 pounds of force ( maybe up to 3000+ lbs.) . However, a full-grown crocodile's bite can reach over 5000 pounds of force!

  • @yokotubene Of course crocs have higher bite force overall. They're larger. I never denied that. I said POUND-FOR-POUND gators have stronger jaws. As in a 200 pound gator will have a stronger bite than a 200 pound croc.

  • @InfernoRodan Well, I am not really sure about that. I'll research it whenever I get the chance, lol.

  • @InfernoRodan

    not true.

  • @kharu88 true

  • i like this!!!!!

  • i think i speak for everyone when i say "INTERIOR CROCODILE ALLIGATOR"

  • Comment removed

  • RIP tomato XD

  • Wtf crocodiles are not vegetarians wtf you been smoking

  • not many people know that crocodiles are vegetarians...

  • I personally like both animals, but the crocodile DOES have a stronger bite force and sharper teeth. The alligator wasnt quite as powerful. And no, this does not mean that alligators eat only meat and crocs eat both meat and veggies. Crocodilians will pretty much bite down on anything.

  • someone threw a tomato at my mouth, and i did the same thing.

  • the croc has a worse temper too.

  • tomaaaato!

  • alligators like wtf DO NOT WANT if it wanted too it could have bit right through that tomato you dont even need teeth to squish a tomato

  • this proves that aligators prefer meat...

  • @setorando2 same

  • LEAVING THE TOMATO A VEGETABLE!

  • dang i gotta get me croc i can make homemade ketchup

  • Crocs are more powerful, but the gators looks more bad ass.

  • @XeIpherpolis how can gators look more bad ass man when crocs have much more armour and cat like eyes and a much better look cause a gator has the face of a frog just has some sharp teeth

  • @hititdj i said "looks" more bad ass, i dont care about this armour or power you speak, to me gators looks badass because they have a bigger and wider head, giving them a more intimidating look

  • @XeIpherpolis its your opinion man but i know u said they "look" but i dont think they look at all like i said kinda like a frog with sharp teeth nor are they compared to crocs and gator dont have a bigger head than a croc of simmilar size is just the difference in the shape cause gators ahve a u shaped snout but is flat while crocs have a v shaped but its thicker when look at it from the side but both have broad snouts well some croc species dont but thats another matter :D

  • eat the smarties 0:45

  • what alligator should have won

  • alligators are stronger than crocodiles and alligators is larger than crocs.

  • @Conrado24 .......

I'm an aussie... I know what crocs are like, I know what they're capable of.. I would rather swim with alligators, bloody, than go within 20 metres of an adult croc

  • @Mahomael yeah very true, itd suck ass to be with alligators but seeing them all in airlie and up north. two words FUCK THAT

  • @Conrado24 In the Everglades, Florida, Crocs and gators share the river. Crocs own the place. Crocs are faster on the land and they have a longer endurance. Maybe you're a gator fan that's why you were saying that.

  • @Conrado24 wrong and wrong a second time.

  • check out my alligator attack video it was very close

  • i like alligators

    lol

  • interior crocodile alligator.

  • 0:07 - 0:32 i do beleive the song playing in the backround is the usa battle theme 2 from cnc generals.

  • @nairda55555 IT IS!!!

  • that is not fair ..the gators bate is a an apple its harder ...but the cocs is an tomatoe

  • poor...reptiles :| 1:31 - 1:33 Is like a hot ketchup commercial, Our Ketchup is the best , made by crocodiles ...or sumthin'

  • alligators are still cooler

  • @26adam76 no they're not crocs are

  • Notice how they rig this by keeping the alligators mouth restricted to bareley open enough to fit the tomatoe

while the croc has its mouth wide open, allowing for it to generate some momentum into the bite

    this vid is BS

  • @PowerSprinter acully they are not restricting the alligator it has a smaller snout so it looks like it . but they are holding the croc the same way to

  • @PowerSprinter Mommentum isnt an issue when it comes to bite strenght. Do a test wiht an a hard to bite into food, bite it once with your teeth against it, the open your mouth to the limit and close it. Its not going to make any difference.

  • This is a pathetic way to test bite strength

  • @PowerSprinter Yeah they should have put their arms in there ore something....

  • TOMATOR VS. GATOR

  • I like how donald just disgrades the alligator right in front of it 1:40 :) poor gator haha

  • NO NO NO!!! Ye've got it all wrong!!!

It's nothing to do with "closing pressure" exerted etc. Ain't it obvious??

    Crocs like tomatoes. Alligators don't.

So I'm surprised some douche bag hasn't come along & said that "Crocs are gay. They like veggies."!!!

    :-)

  • Lesson learned - Use a crocodile to make tomato paste, an alligator just won't cut it.

  • Awesome show! Also love how they put some C&C Generals music in it also

  • this was a stupid test. it involved juvenile animals and fruit. get adults and use a bite force meter. also, alligators typically prey on turtles, which have hard shells. this test made it look like the gator is a sissy

  • @tedd17 look up on youtube "crocodile crushes turtle". you will see that crocs are just as capable as alligators when i comes to crushing

  • I am oficially in love with Donald

  • i vote for croc cuz crocs have stronger jaws so the bite force is much stronger than a gator but ya u cant trust them with wat kind of tomatos they use.

  • You can't go by tomatos what if the tomato they gave the croc was more ripe it might be softer yet easier to crush Im not saying alligators have a stronger bite force use a bite meter to be more accurate

  • @spahnman

No you don't get it! The alligator just didn't LIKE the tomatoe like the gay croc did!! That's all!!!

(I know what a fucked up argument, but at least I don't mean it, unlike some on here who probably would believe it!!!)

  • cool to see dat they used equal sized animals and they used the american alligator vs the american crocodile , they didnt use the slightly bigger species such as the nile crocodile or australian saltwater crocodile

  • bad ass quality nice

  • i loove donald shultz. such a hotttie

  • mmm donald schultz is a hottie =D

  • lol crocs own man i read in the giuness world record 2007 that and 10,000 or somting asin arm went through a croc infested swamp and by morning there was 20 or somthing ppl leaved !!!!!!!!

  • An alligator actually has a stronger bite force for its size.

  • crocs have because a 12-footer alligator just have a bite force of 2,125 while the croc which is a 12-footer, measured by Braddy Barr has a bite force with 2,500, just look at that

  • I think you are referring to the 15 foot Nile Crocodile that Brady Barr captured.

    I'll send you the video.

  • a croc because a aligator is in the everglades which dosent have big prey animals so it dosent have to be so strong but the croc has to have deadly powere in order to catch buffalo zebras and maby a lion if lucky

  • i love it if they will put them in a same huge container and put a single prey...

  • Wow.You never know how discusting a tomato looks until it's squished in slow mo.

  • You guys are all dumb as shit. Crocs are touhger hands down. They are bigger, more vicious, in general, stronger, and more badass. The croc is like the gator from hell.

  • Amen

  • @ivanahumpalot420 I totally agree with you, buddy! :D

  • those beast are cute ^^

  • gators are better survivors though they can survive in much cooler climate then crocs can.

  • the crocodile must been like: wtf is this sh!t?

  • no the croc bit the tomato

  • @hipvspec

    lol!!!

  • @hipvspec This experiment proves that Gators are selective and dont want to snack on tomatos

  • haha this might be the first croc ever to taste a tomato :)

  • cool!

  • This isn't a very good test of bite pressure :(

  • __I agree with NicolasLaBarre. This test is not scientific. What if the gator in this test was the weakest link of its group. And the croc in the test was the strongest among its own group, and it may have been acting with jealousy since he saw himself being the second in line for the show.

__ In short, the test was entertainning, but not scientific.

  • Thats very inquisitve, i agree

  • Also, I don't think the BABY alligator intended to break through the tomato.

Because... seriously guys, it's a fucking tomato. Even though the alligator was a baby, I have serious doubts that it couldn't break it.

    Whatever, still entertaining.

  • true, plus when power match-ups have been in other shows I have seen, they always use a gator to test crocodilian bite pressure. Gators have the wider jaws and produce more force.

  • I still can't believe Discovery would post a test like this. It just isn't accurate. Now they should put something fleshy in the gators mouth and see what happens.

  • aligator wins:)

  • i wouldn't want to get bitten by either anyway

  • especially if you're a tomato

  • see you later alligator

  • HAHA i was thinking that the whole time.

  • Maybe next they can test who's more likely to go insane and attack people: Travis the Chimp or Christian Bale?

  • Saltwater crocs get much bigger. Never saw vegetarian crocadilians! This was neat

  • but I think Gator's are more bad-ass and larger except Saltwater Croc are farely huge too

  • Tomato to Gator: Hah, it's just a flesh wound!

  • The crocodile is the tomato's natural enemy.

  • @Richardgwm LOLOL

  • i was rooting for the Gator :(

  • they r both very reactive
