  • "Get Him to the Greek" classic

  • Absolutely adorable and screamingly funny ROFL xxxxxxxxxxx

  • It's astonishing to think that Queen Elizabeth I, some 500 years ago, would still brecognise the main elements of the game although she'd be rather shocked by modern day fringing techniques! It's a little known fact that in medieval times, when the game originated, priests umpired all matches. The black garb of modern umpires dates back to those times, although the flowing robes of the 15th century have now been replaced with rather more practical and abbreviated, 'two set' worn today.

  • Mornington Crescent !

  • I love how confident they are, like they know exactly what they're doing.

  • was this an excerpt from a Benny Hill episode?

  • oh.....im in this part of youtube again....

  • One day, this will replace football

  • Which end was the four? It looked like it should have been at least that much again.

  • Couldn't understand any of that - but it really was hilarious!

  • watch this with transcribe the audio function on lol

  • @deansolloway101 That is so frickin funny....))stand for children to be creams((....

I am going to watch it again...

  • This was in the movie Get Him to the Greek ahaha

  • I got really anxious when the referee checked the door after the first quarter, to me it seemed the jib lock loosened just before the lilly-gap which would counter the greens on the board. No wonder they had to attempt a bouncing squire to accompany the previous inning. When they came up short for the boot-swing I thought that was game already, but the threesome really kicked the game up for them.

Brilliant fringing, too. You just can't find players like this these days.

  • ..."and they're going for the threesome"

  • Uh what?

  • Why do we only see the dull village green version? Until you've seen the West Indies' fearsome seamers tearing the Aussies a new one back in the eighties, you can't begin to appreciate this game...

  • I like how one has a pipe.

  • It's all about how he fringed the ring, great play. Stunning.

  • LOL. Looks like the redheaded stepchild of Australian rules, curling, and cricket :P

  • haha zo is het een kleine grappige video voor hollanders... zo staat ie ineens op internationale websites en krijgt ie vet veel kijkers :D

  • calvinball for englishmen?

  • I would pay a cheesy cheese and a bent fork for knowing what the referee is saying... Anyone who knows?

  • And he´s knocking at the doors... Simply beautiful!

  • "Changing the Pattern again."

  • Hilarious, just my humour.

  • Marshall would totally get this game ;)

  • wtf did I just watch.

  • Closest thing I've seen to Python in a really long time.

  • I was almost convinced until I saw the way they ran.

  • wth. thats not anywhere near the cricket i know

  • Yeees.

  • calvinball?

  • "Changing the pattern again, two wide and three singe" "And a left charlie marker for the widescreen"

  • I WANT TO PLAY THIS SO FUCKING BADLY.

  • I sense that im being trolled here.... wtf is this shit anyway

  • i could watch this all day

  • 2:13 - the referee missed the falted deduction - obviously its a tough one to call but had he seen it, Mulroney could have gone on to make a direct sequence.

  • O.O

  • Their skill at ringing the fringe past the three longs in such a smooth manner must be observed, as well as their ability at knowing when to take back a knobble after gaining a Guilder Jump. It was risky for them to double their wager, but once Mulroney moved the Jack behind the leading color, it was a straight sit-down from there. Well played. Knicker at the first quarter, also.

  • they are going for the threesome 4:02

  • WDF!

  • What is the fuque ?

  • Dafuq did I just watch ?

  • Best sport ever

  • ...okay, so for anyone who doesn't know whats going on, well, ....there making fun of cricket REALLY REALLY bad!!! haha :)

  • ALEX ITS SO A SPORT.

  • @Elvenlink64 for real men, mike, real men.

  • as someone who has never watched a cricket game in his life, I have no idea what is going on. But I like it.

  • Wow that was a really controversial call by the ref but they pulled through and cattled the ring up through the three longs just before the halftime rest..

  • you mean this is not cricket?

  • Yup, that's cricket for ya!

  • Can't watch that much cricket in Finland. However when I visited New Zealand, this is about what I recall it was like.

In other words, I laughed hard.

  • Get Him to the Greek

  • WTF is this shit?

  • This is soccer for americans...

  • This is genius

  • i cant believe it either

  • Get Him to the Greek

    Anyone?

  • "...and they're going for the threesome" - that (4:00) was the only thing I understood.

  • Yeah, glad you all find it so funny. but I lost £700 on that game.

  • @benhartshorne Haha! That makes it even funnier!!

  • is this some joke? if so the USA doesn't get it :< .....however i think the video is implying that to everyone else cricket looks very very strange

  • @CONKER17 C'mon, man. Don't make us look bad.

  • When does this get funny?

  • @hammerfacejr It's not supposed to be funny man. This is a very serious sport. It's going to be an exhibition sport at the London Olympics this year.

  • i dont think this is actually cricket, im reporting it for having a misleading title

  • Seriously this. I stayed up for three hours watching cricket while in Scotland and I still have no idea how the game is played or what anyone was trying to accomplish. This makes an equal amount of sense.

  • If they would have moved the yellows sooner they would not have had to sub out later to pick up the extra jiske roll for the sidecross fringe points. Classic rookie mistake and also why I refuse to partake in any pickup games these days, waste of time. Clean follow through roll at 1:40, gives the pickado plenty of time to ensure they are not penalized for swept felt.

  • @Nygel36 oh so this is a real sport not some "we want to make fun of English people video".

    Interesting.

  • "and there going for the threesome" HAHAHA

  • 41 people havent fringed their ring

  • I can never get this 5 minutes of my life back...

  • How cricket looks to most people.

  • 41 people are already pro cricket players.

  • Defuq is this?

  • I say!... I really do must say!...

  • Yea, no, well, it is a funny old game isn't it.

  • Absolute gold at 2:42

D: "Backing off to the leftovers."

    E: "Changing."

  • God! I love cricket

  • bravo!!!)

  • This is what happens inside my head while I watch any kind of sport.

  • One of the greatest moments in sports history, right there.

  • That was a fantastic plowerhouse they pulled off there. Absolutely splendid.

  • Who are they playing against?

  • @applecyker good point

  • HOLY SHIT SO INTENSE.

  • HUZZAH

  • Transcribe audio for gems such as 'estrogen controls' and 'to make a square woman'

  • What the hell is this?

  • This makes a lot more sense if you turn subtitles on.

  • I find it nice that this seems like a vhs footage. Ans it all seems so witty and reasonable accompanied with a RP british accent..

  • It's interesting how he finished off with a yellow. It's quite daring but it worked. What a stunning performance by all players.

  • Obviously the beautiful fringe was the clincher. I've only seen a fringe as nice as that before, in '83 in south africa an Indian by the name of Safeet Kipiru fringed an absolutely perfect ring to a 31. Simply stunning. Overall well played here though. Pattern could be changed a bit snappier and the changing needs crispness but otherwise a brilliant match.

  • Absolutely brilliant contest, I have neve

  • hehehehhe

  • um... what?

  • god, this really makes sense!

  • get him to the greek

  • this type of videos just suck you in like if your getting brainwash

  • I think england has a shot at the title this year

  • ...but It's a stroke

  • I can't believe I watched the entire video...

  • These guys are also well known for the popular game of Stifting, which they developed. After fringing the ring, you can play the Ace card back over the Jack, if you have a nine card. That's the first stift. And if you raise with a hundred Guilders, you can take back the Queen, and if you draw a club, you can also put the nine over the seven and take back the ten. Then, after you've doubled your wager, you can place a double stift along with a Jack in the leading colour. Then you yell Stift!

  • xD

I've never really got what's so hard to understand about cricket though, I have to say.

  • I wish I'd been introduced to this sport first. Compared to most English sports it's quite straightforward and easy to follow.

  • a trefold? they still give him the point even though he was CLEARLY offside?

  • Kees Prins, Michiel Romeyn, and Herman Koch were geniuses. Do you still fucked?

  • why they run like they are holding a firecracker with their butt?

  • Changing...

  • what language are these people speaking?

  • @jake112233 cricket

  • Hahahah

  • Is this a real sport...? If so I would really like to know what the fuck is going on.

  • @Rightonthechest Just smoke a huge spliff and watch it again. It'll all make perfect sense.

  • Well yeah... It's easy if your pitch is as nice as that. When I played at University we were lucky if we could even fringe a handful of rings in a full test.

  • @PyroBoydj Actually, that can be an advantage. Take Conrad McAllister, for instance. All his life he trained on dirt -finding a patch of green in his hometown was like winning the lottery, and when he was finally given the opportunity to play on a professional pitch it was the easiest thing in the world for him. That's the reason why the best players come from developing countries, their first-world counterparts are too soft and just quit at the first sight of a real obstacle.

  • so...interesting...

  • He fringes the ring perfectly. Good show.

  • yesss this was on get him to the greek..i thought this was real...wait it is fake right?

  • @lettersfromtheleft shut up

  • @beavisel1 Nope.

  • I do say good sir, exactly the way the sport was meant to be played.

  • Did you see him fringe the ring!!! brilliant lead up to the threesome.

  • @0:47 .. translation?

  • Can't tell if it's a joke... Or an actual sport.

  • @Starkl3t you stupid American...

  • @llieske I'm Canadian dumbass

  • @Starkl3t Well you're definitely not English... enough to admire a gentlemans sport

  • @llieske Still don't know if trolling... or serious.

  • @Starkl3t me either doesn't matter its brilliant

  • aaaaaand they're going for the threesome.

  • If nothing else, this video is inspiring me to rock a grandpa pipe.

  • Best Foot Sweap I've ever seen!

  • Maybe it's because I've never watched cricket before, but this is the one of the most retarded videos I've ever seen.

  • the pipe makes it

  • this is way better then the real cricket

  • How was this NOT done by Monty Python?

  • Comment removed

  • This is on the tv in "Get him to the greek" when Jonah Hill wakes up hung over in London. I wonder if that whole segment was made for this film.

  • Reddit has arrived.

  • he exicuted that 3 and a half switchit verry nicly, but that stit fumble was horrible

  • So which one is the Quaffle?
