Someone has made a mistake about the soundtrack to this video..This is NOT Andy Williams singing Happy Heart.....This is Mary Hopkins singing "Those Were The Days"
Cheers for that. I'm on Mayfield Road and it was strange looking at these old pictures. It's amazing how there seemed to be more life around then! More shops I mean. Alex Road is like a wasteland now. Bleak.
Alec Road as we called its amazing memories used to go there with my mam shopping I worked in a couple of the shops Frost the paper shop, Redmans I was thwe delivery boy in the mid 60's, Billy Dutch loading vegitables into the shop. got my first bie from John Balll bike shop good days
Memories Cerburusuk. Wallace Arnold and Meskis ice cream do I remember them and the cenacle. John Balls cycles was in all those places. cant beat Alec Rd as we called it. Pretty much like my Hulme Videos same music. Lol. well done mate.
@kevinfromHulme Do you happen to have any shots of the precinct and the surrounding crescents, like Linbeck and Gretney Walk from around that time anyway up to the 80's?
