  • hello again and thanks for your answer , i bought a harmonica and this song is great but i only reached the part at 0:48 , what the +6* ( the circle on top of the 6) means???? thanks

  • @pacojunior88 : Hello. That's the note I was refering to in my previous message. It is a 6 overblow. Either you learn the overblow technique (I guess you'll find articles and vids on the Net), or you can play this lick on the lower octave : +2 -3' -3'' -2 -2 -2'' +2 -3''

  • @JersiMuse Merce' for your kindness and sorry for asking so many questions! , but i looked for the overblow technique over the net and lots of people say ; you have to adjust your harmonica reeds for doing that , did you adjust yours?? or it's not true and you did the 6 overblow without adusting the reeds ?? Merce' again for your Patience I JUST LOVE THIS SONG PLEASE HELP !

  • @pacojunior88 : All my reeds are manually settled, but it is not that important at first step. To get your first overblow, I would advise to take off the reedplates. Then you put your finger on the blow 6 reed, to block it. Then you blow 6 and put your tongue in the exact same position as if you were playing a 6' (bent draw 6 note). If needed, put more pressure. The blow reed can not move as it is blocked by your finger. So the draw reed will begin to react.

  • @Paco : at the beginning, it will not give you a note, but if you get a strange sound you are on the right tracks. Practice and practice. Once you get the note, you can put off your finger and try to get it directly.

    Good luck !

  • @JersiMuse thanks for sharing the knowledge !! i wish you all the good in the world !!

  • Absolutely awesome!!!

  • great song great playing i already play this piece on guitar i wish to buy and learn harmonica and play both of them at the same time what harmonica do you recommend?? and is this piece hard for a beginner ???(the chorus) great playing !

  • @pacojunior88 : Thanks a lot, and sorry for my late answer. This piece is not the easiest to begin, but it is feasible. I don't know on which harp it would be the most convinient as I only play on a C. But C is ok anyway, not too difficult appart from one note which should more probably played in the low octave to begin.

    Enjoy !

  • Hi JersiMuse, after months of trying, I can finally get some overblows and was wondering how to start using them and this tune with just one overblow to play the melody is perfect to get started. You're an amazing player and very generous to share your knowledge. Thank you very much.

  • @Babsjoseph : Thank you so much ! It is very encouraging knowing that you are going to work that out ! Enjoy !

  • @thedistortedguitar1 : Merci beaucoup !

  • Good stuff that mate! Very nicely articulated and a pleasure to listen to.. well done!

  • ¡Muy bien! Great sweet sound.

  • Sweet

  • @pattigeeful : Thanks

  • very impressive ;D keep it up dude :D

  • excellent Jerome!

    Greetings

    Roman

  • hey u r really good! congratulations! thanks for the scales written, the sound great. Playing jazz on a diatonic is not easy, and u do it good and clear.

    Greets from Venezuela.

  • Very Nice.

  • Thanks Jason !

    BTW, congrats for your work.

    Best regards,

    Jerome

  • Superbe!!

    A bientôt j'espère.

  • I like it a lot a lot!!!

  • Thank you very much very much :-)

Go and see dandyharp version too, it's really interesting.

'hoping that you'll try to play this tune also.

  • Hello Jerome, It took some tries, but I have posted a video response to Black Orpheus, I hope you like it. Thanks for encouraging me to post. I think it is great to see so many worldwide diatonic players playing in chromatic style! I am very pleased to see your further work. Your style is very refined. Did you play another instrument in a jazz style before the diatonic harmonica?

  • Great job dandyharp !

A tender and sensitive interpretation, with very interesting ideas.

To answer your question, I play guitar a little bit, but it is just for fun. I learn jazz with my C harp.

Congrats again, I'm so pleased you tried and succeeded so well on that beautiful song !

  • Merveilleux Opheus et merveilleuse improvisation. Je vais essayer d'aprendre de vous!
