The comments on this good video are goofy. The lion is a more skilled fighter. Male lions basically don't hunt. All they do is fight. They have evolved to be better fighters. Male tigers are solitary and have evolved to hunt. Lions can bob and weave to avoid hits, a tiger can't. Tigers are aggressive fighters, good fighters have offense and defense, A tiger has to be about 200lbs bigger than a lion to beat it in a fight. Where it overwhelms the lion. If not, the lion wins.

Male lions have evolved to fight other male lions. They are better equipped, and have stronger paws. Their manes protect from killing blows and the size difference is too small to make much of a difference. The Lion would win most fights. It all depends on the sex of the animal. Male lions can be bigger than female tigers. But most male tigers are larger than any lion on the average. The tiger is far more agile. Physics also plays a role. Tiger wins period.
