  • Fucking awesome switch to bongo's :)

  • wow nice that was super fast when you played just with your hands, that would suck if you hit you knuckles on the rim OUCH!

  • imagine rimshots with hands haha

  • Nice job.. I just died a little seeing him use that guitar for Zeppelin :(

  • Amen to that man. Zeppelin should only be played on Les Pauls, or Eds-1275s

  • Nice solo ;)

  • i pray to good u only use one foot or else thats a disgrace to bonzo

  • epic win!

  • amazing job on that drum solo

  • You make me wanna steal you talent, dude!!!

  • good job dude

  • Sweet as hell. Thank you for posting.

  • Moby dick was a great suggestion... No better drummer ever than Bonham. Your really good dude... NICE JOB

  • u are good but u aint bonham lol

  • Brilliant!

  • buenisimo!

  • band is kinda weak but drummer does hell of a job covering Bonham

  • Gotta hand it to the drummer, he's got balls for even thinking about covering this. He did good work though-kudos

  • and for trying to put on a neil peart look

  • Kinda hard to judge that on this song...

  • great durms soloo :)

  • that guy deserves a crowd 1000 times the size of this one! inspiring

  • Wow, absolutely stunning. Channeling pure Bonzo right here.

  • The purpose of drumming is not to be better than Bonham.

Just good feeling & playing drums.

Thats what he do on this vid'.

  • fuck me thts probs the best drum solo iv seen on youtube, well done mate

  • fuckin amazing, as a drummer I can say this kind of shit is fuckin hard, atleast it is for me...

  • for me too ...

  • but not for Chuck Norris, cause he can play with his teeth!

  • wow.... hopefully I'll be able to see one of your montreal shows sometime

  • I normally dont say this about other Moby Dick drum solos besides Bonhams, but... THAT WAS GREAT!!!! Very Nice dude. I love it =D

  • IL y a du niveau.

    Et ca envoie.

  • good :) just like TheBellsonBomber said: the feeling is right and well the technique is fine. It's a nice solo anyway ^^ gd job

  • Just plain awesome! Very enjoyable to watch....

  • Just showed this to the drummer in my band, i think he shat himself. I'll know more when i pick him up off the floor. Bloody great work my friend.........

  • wow,speechless....

  • MNan that was awesome... Couldnt believe the audience was that small! I'd go see you guys play if I lived over in canada! Keep it up man! What Paiste's are you using?

  • Great job

It annoys me that some members of youtube always come out with the same shit like did you cheat and use a double pedal etc etc etc when it comes to a moby dick cover??

The main thing is that the feel is right and the technique is solid. This solo has both and the kit sounds good also.

Anyone who disses this cover is plain clueless of drumming, jealous of the guys ability compared to their own and most of all an asshole who needs to put up or shut up!

  • nice

  • very enjoyable, great style, great sound.

  • Great solo! I really like your hand technique and fill ideas. What drums and cymbals are you playing?

  • Do I hear a little Ian Paice influence in there? Huh? C'mon, admit it.

  • ur a real drummer. this is awsome.

  • Your drums sound great, and your playing is superb! I love your rolls, they're so fluid and sound right every time.

    Very enjoyable!

  • john would be proud

  • Soooooooo.......How bad did your hands hurt after that??????? I try that every now and again and it kills my hands... freaking sweeeeet!!! Good job.

  • were did the 29 peice drum set go? lol going back to the simple set ic? amazing job! sounds a bit dry but then agian its not pro sound quality now is it? other then that...amazing job!

  • thats one of the nicest sounding drumsets ive heard in a long time

  • very well guy

  • single or double pedal?

    pretty good man. nice.

  • it has to single since hes using the hi-hat most of the time

  • It's a single dude trust me I know

  • very awsome bro.

  • To all you people commenting negatively on this, you are aware Bonham will never be equalled or copied. And as for those triplets with his hand and feet, have you ever tried them? I'd sooner try brain surgery, so lay off

  • woaw man!!! thats sounded good!

  • Probably the best cover I've heard. Like it better than Portnoy's cover, personally. I'm hoping you single-bassed it the whole way, right? Five stars for sure. Not quite Bonzo, but as close as any human I've seen!

  • a little slow for my taste. but u didnt try to change it, nor did u try to copy it. also it was in the wrong key but perty good

  • Very impressive rock drum solo. Very dedicated to Bonham's work. The hands and all. Admirable!

  • Thanks a million

  • Nice playing. One of the closest I have seen/heard to the original John Henry Bonham version.

  • Realize that most things you see a human doing in life..have been done before..often better. Bonham learned from listening to mostly Buddy Rich...which is where he got a lot of his techniques/movements..but he also listened to Jo Jones...Jones used his hands and pressed on the drum heads with his stck while tapping with other hand to change the sounds..that was in the 1930's and 1940's. Look up Jo Jones on YTUBE.

  • bravo

  • great movement with the hands...but bonzo's lightning fast triplets with the hands n feet were missing.otherwise it was great!

  • there was some triplets in there. and that sounds very close to bonham, sounds basically like him. nice job

  • The only criticism i will give to those solo is it sounds like he uses a double kick and I never see any of Bonzo's spectacular crossovers in this, nor do I see the amazing finish where Bonzo essentially becomes the equivalent of a rotor blade on top of a helicoptor. But still...this is a spectacular performance I'm not sure i'll ever play like this.

  • You are right...

I posted a soundtrack along with Bonham pictures,

type in John Bonham Moby Dick Tribute in the Youtube search bar,

The set seen here is a Yamaha Maple Custom,

    it lacks the Bonham essence...

the other soundtrack posted was taped live

while i was playing a 73 Ludwig Amber Vistalite,

    Thanks for your constructive insight

  • I think if you put Mr. Labadie behind John Bonham's original Ludwig green sparkle kit he probably would sound much closer to him. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure that nobody will ever get to touch that kit.

  • Do you know somebody who has for sale

a Green Sparkle Ludwig no matter the year ?

  • On Drummerworld, they have a video on a guy named...umm...Mark Romans??? playing on it. Like, the ACTUAL IT that Bonzo played in the studio. Really good player.

  • This Russell Labadie guy may not exactly be the next John Bonham, but fuck this guy is no amateur. He is a very talented drummer, so anyone who criticizes him in this should think about whether they could play like him or not because his performance is fucking impressive. You have to give him that.

  • zeppelin ownz but i didnt like guitarist in this video

  • this drummer is propa gd.. and song is fukin imenz, but the original drummer is jst the best of the best.

  • You guys rock man and moby dick is one of the greatest rock songs of all time led zeppelin rules.

  • i feel kind of like a jerk now. i'll admit i thought you were just a hot shot drummer trying to be Bonzo but i'm relieved to see that you're humble and knowledgeable. i watched your tribute and and was impressed. nice choice of kit and performance. it was much more of a Bonham sound and style. Thank you.

  • jesus man that's freaking awesome

  • this is impressive. you play well with your own style, but as a drummer and a zeppelin fan, you failed to capture the bonham feel even in the least. very impressive otherwise. maybe stick to originals.

  • You are right...

  • very nice!

  • yer this is good;)

  • bad ass. i agree with the allman dude. mad props.

  • Really precise man, amazing open sound.really love your feel reminds me alot of Alex Van Halen, really fluent with your hands.just another

    drummer complimenting ya !:)

  • o0ne thing i loved is you didn't completely destroy the spirit of the origional. Even though it obviously wasnt the same; it kept the nice seasoned beats etc instead of just hammering it like most crappy drumemrs do.

  • WHOLLY SHIT DUDE i play drums and i have to admit im pretty good but you YOU ARE DEFINETLY KICK ASSSSSSSSSSS

  • that was good druming but no offense their is a distinctive defferense between your moby dick and the original

  • que gran solo.. very ggood job

  • the solo was amazing...and its odd i just posted the moby dick video and then bam! i see u....ur not bonham but u can sure be related lol

  • Amazing as hell, were those Paiste Bonham cymbals?

  • All Paiste's but different models than Bonham's,

18in Dimensions Medium crash,18in Innovation crash,

    16in Signature Power crash, 16in 2002 crash,

    21in 602 ride and 15in 2002 heavy hi-hats...

I have a hard time cracking those models,

i'm very happy with them, the ultimate would be

all Paiste Signatures which i think Bonham

would've added to his Paiste endorsement order list

if they were around back in the 80s.

  • guitar was nothing like Page but this drummer has better solo then most on utube

  • man! about time i found someone who did justice to moby dick.. so much better than mike portnoy's band trying to play this. fuckin awesome bro, real nice work there

  • can i get a heck yes? (HECK YES!!)

  • The drummer knows his shit but the guitarist should leave the wizardry to Jimmy Page

  • no truer thing has been said on youtube.

  • fucking awesome

  • Rock and roll dude! Great job! Keep that one for the grandkids, very talented!

  • one thing...more cow bell

  • Very nice! I can hear JB in your playing but still you bring something your own into it. Thumbs up!

  • nice!

  • great rendition. you have a sweet Bonham feel on it. I love it, one of the best moby dick covers on here, besides the god himself, John Henry Bonham.

  • except it wouldn't be a cover if it was Bonham

  • Man i really love your playing style!! You've got such a good bonham feel goin on!!

  • drummer is good but the rest of the band are douchebags.

  • Pretty damn good dude. All hail John Henry Bonham.

  • amazing....

  • good solo, but nobody do a solo a la john bonham

*i don't telling a negative things about this solo*

  • Yea man good job on the solo

  • i cant get the hand part of this solo it hurts

  • well done on the solo

  • hell!! yeah!

  • "hell!! yeah!" Indeed!
